Steigenberger Esplanade is exceptional. The room was perfect, breakfast superior, and the hostess at breakfast was delightful. Everybody was friendly and helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself couldn't be in a better location. It's within walking distance to the town square all the local restaurants and pubs, and some great shopping! Parking is in the garage and there is always parking available! Do yourself a favor and spoil yourself with a stay at Steigenberger Esplanade Jena. It's definitely it!

The hotel is renovating its interior, carpets are covered, some areas are cordoned off. Still, a very good hotel, perfectly located in the middle of Jena.

Great hotel. During my stay there were improvements being made but the hotel made sure this did not affect any visitors. It was holiday time in Jena so there were not many people around. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

This is the best modern hotel in Jena that also has a good location, walking distance from all important location. Excellent staff and good selection for breakfast..They even have a duck to join you for a bath

A hotel that suffered from COVID. It feels dead in the hotel. The staff was rude when I checked in. And pretty much the place was good for sleeping in, but it had nothing else to offer. The room was clean, but the bed was squeaking. Unbelievable how much the place has declined in a matter of two years. I stayed for four nights, chose not to get the sheets changed to help the environment; but ultimately it felt rather sketchy.

Esplanade: very recommended unique place to stay.
I tried more locations to stay in Jena for my business trips since jan 2019. Esplanade, I have to say, is the best when I compare service, location and the range of services offered including definitely a best breakfast. For my needs specifically also the 24 hour open reception and always available parking, Esplanade is a perfect match on what I need when in Jena at a price that is very competitive. For my needs, definitely a best ratio between quality and service and cost. I wish I had this option for accommodation on other business or private trips in others countries I am visiting regularly as a sales person. Good job Esplanade and fingers crossed for anything to come this special year and years after.

Upmarket choice in Jena
I booked a deluxe room at the Steigenberger Esplanade and was very satisfied with everything. The hotel is very well located, it's elegant and stylish albeit not in an eccentric way. Our deluxe room was huge, with full-length panorama windows overlooking the city. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and tidy. Good choice and quality ingredients at breakfast. You can ask for an omelette to be made on top of what is already displayed in the buffet. Parking was expensive at 17 euros a night, so I moved my car to a nearby street with free parking. I was, however, able to park for up to 15 minutes while we checked in and took our bags upstairs. Directly next door to the hotel there is a shopping arcade.

Friendly service from checking in, giving me some hot water to make my Lemsip to booking a taxi. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Having air-con was a bonus too. Great breakfast.

It's a nice hotel in the centre of Jena. Perosnally, I found the bed too hard and couldn't sleep well. Also, there seemed no way to control the temperature so I was over-heated at night. Colleagues told me that the breakfast is very good, although I skipped it.

Absolutely fine with no problems at all. The bar is great, some nice cocktails and friendly staff, but perhaps not the cheapest, around 9 euros each. Parking in the basement via a car-lift is convenient but does cost around 17 euros a night and requires some nerves to load a large car in the small lift... The room was clean, spacious, good WiFi, and plenty of sockets to charge appliances. Would stay again (in fact this was the second time) and would recommend to others too.
