We had a lovely stay at the Anchorage Resort. We had the room above the reception area and the views were amazing! The hot tub was also wonderful in the evening.

We had a wonderful time at this Resort. Peter and Claris were great hosts, very helpful and friendly. Beaut little spot, everything was there. Great rooms, lovely spa and swimming pool. We went as a family group and would definitely go back again.

Our 3rd booking here - mostly good, needs updating
This hotel just out of Taupo is a great place to stay to get away from the tourist trap and it's only a short distance to the city. The view of the lake is right in front, the hot spa is perfect, the service was friendly and efficient. The room was great, bed comfortable, facilities just right. But it does need an upgrade - very tired looking. Would still recommend for a stay.

Kids loved the pool and spa pool. I enjoyed the view from our room. Next time I will take a children’s bike. I assumed they would have smaller bikes as well as adult for hire being a family resort. House keeping was of a very high standard. Excellent family accommodation.

Travelling for work with a colleague recently and was pleased to find this motel that offered 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each - didn’t have to toss a coin for the room with 2 singles. The hotel was easy to find, warm welcome in reception, and across the road from the lake. The room was well-appointed, clean, and spacious. Shower over the spa bath had good pressure and there are extra towels on offer. Not much road noise considering its location. The beds were comfy and extra blankets on hand. Kitchen has cooking facilities and a microwave and decent cups for your morning coffee. Really enjoyed our stay, happy to recommend, and we hope to return again.

The large outdoor hot soak pool a winter treat. The owners go over and above to make this accommodation one of the best in Taupo. Large bedroom, bathroom with shower and kitchenette dining /lounge with great views overlooking the lake. Walk across the road for a easy lake walk.

Beautiful view of Lake Taupo from the the apartment. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Although not luxurious it’s quite new and modern. The pool and spa are very clean, temperature is just perfect. The manager Peter is very friendly and helpful. He even upgraded us from 2 bedroom apartment to 3 bedroom apartment. Will come back for sure

My two children and I loved our stay at the Anchorage. We actually ended up staying an extra night and what turned out to be our fourth night there. The Manager was really helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate us or to offer friendly local advice. We would definitely stay there again.

The place is facing the lake, very good view and comfortable, and I can easily run along the lake path opposite to the hotel. Very convenient and nice staff.
