"Very convenient for restaurants, and train station"
We had a lovely week at The Lauria.
Pool was inviting, buffet breakfast plain but sufficient.
Very close to trains, and just 11 mins by train to lovely beaches in Salou. Or 45 mins by bus.
Eating out was incredibly cheap.
A very typical European hotel in terms of room size and amenities. The hotel was spotless. The breakfast (B&B plan) was outstanding. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The location is excellent: just two short blocks from the main street of Tarragona, about 15 minutes walking time to either the cathedral or the Roman ruins. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Astari was a very satisfactory hotel. It was quiet, but within a reasonable walk of all the sights. The staff was very helpful. There was garage parking available, but we had no trouble finding nearby street parking (this was in November).

Hotel Staff is very helpful and the hotel is only a short walk to the old town where all the main attractions are. The only thing is the parking space under the hotel is quite small and the access is not easy.
I stayed at SB Express for a week while at a conference at the University. It was very comfortable and, while not central, was a short walk to the old town and moderate walk to the beach. The inhouse restaurant did not have a great variety, wasn't cheap and kept limited hours so I found I had to go into central Tarragona for meals. There was, however, a supermarket quite close so you can eat cheaply by buying some supplies from there.
Helpful kind staff, great balcony, amazing view of the sea and a few short steps to the beach. It feels like a small community beach. We found our experience relaxing, comforting and reassuring. Wonderful experience.
