Mold, bugs, stained sheets, no window in my room, you either took a burning hot shower or ice cold. Tv didnt work. Mini fridge had layers of dirt. Toilet was dirty... i'd recommend a park bench before i would ever stay here again.

Dear Molly,We are terribly sorry to hear about your experience.You have never reported any of those issues during your stay neither any other guest complained about hot water problems ( one hot water unit serves 8 rooms, every shower has 2 taps hot and cold you can play around with both to adjust water temperature to your liking )We did go to your room straight after reading this review, tv works perfectly, bugs might have gone away for the weekend ? and window in the bathroom is still thereLet us know if you opt for the bench in the park, we can swing by for a visit, bring some oranges too.All the best

I got covid the during the night before i was supposed to stay, i notified the hotel 7am the morning of my reservation to say i wont be coming in that evening. i understand it was last minute and i still could have come to the hotel and put the health of the staff at risk but decided to do the right thing and cancel. They kept my money , and when i checked later to see if the room was available online, it wasnt, so i guess they booked it out again and doubled down. I didnt expect a refund, but i asked the hotel for at least a credit for a stay in the future, or half the credit for what i spent. Not impressed.

Dear Benjamin,Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and we regret to learn that you could not stay with us.After further investigation to our team, we found the cancellation request was sent very last minute therefore we could not confirm any refund or credit. As a good gesture, our team approved name change however your reservation was booked through third party and need to be changed by your agent, unfortunately we did not received any email or call until we closed. We also tried to open our website and tried to sell the room, but again as it was very last minute and we could not sell the room until we close.Our Reception is available only until 6PM, after 6PM we also closed our website for the same day arrival to avoid any issue for any new same day arrival, it does not mean we were booked as your room was still empty until the next day.We wish this clarification meets your expectation and we wish you may understand.Best regards,Richard

The room I stayed needs some restauration. Maybe because of the balcony door not being well closed I found some insects in the room upon my arrival. The recepcionist could not be more friendly... 5-star service by him.

The location was excellent, being close to many restaurants and King's Cross station, and the room was small but clean. My only complaint was that the room had a significant odour, which was tolerable but I would have much preferred an odourless room.

Unfortunately our experience was not positive. There was quite a bad smell from the room when we arrived. The hotel acknowledged it and sprayed air freshener but couldn't identity where it was from. They were fully booked so could not consider any alternative rooms. We were not willing to stay in that room with that smell so gave the keys back. The front desk advised he has no authority to provide refunds and I should contact the office in the morning. The office responded the next day sorry but no refunds. There view the next guest today has not conplained. That may be the case after having it empty a night to air out that could well be possible. I am disappointed that after acknowledging it they weren't willing to provide any sort of compensation, whether that be a full refund, partial refund or hotel credit. Otherwise location seemed convenient and close to public transport.

We booked a room for night before we flew back to US after a 6 week stay. There were 3 of us so I booked the biggest room I could which had a double and a single bed and literally no other space. We could barely fit our 3 backpacks and carry ons. Luckily we had stored our 2 big suitcases elsewhere. There was no room and no lift and we were 2 floors up. Room had 2 sealed, darkened windows with no light. It was awful. We had paid for a 2nd night and our flight was delayed, but we left anyway and found a better place (The Oaks) to stay and repack for the long trip home.

My husband and I stayed one night at this 3 star rated accommodation in a superior room, which is the one in their pictures. It was slightly smaller than expected, but the king sized bed and pillows were so comfy to sleep in, the room was very clean, bathroom very functional with lovely rain shower that it’s perfect for a quick visit, with a very reasonable tariff. Bring your hairdryer if needed. Opening off the room is a gigantic balcony/ terrace area. Great area to sit out on and have a few drinks, if you have time, and gives the room a lot of interest. The staff were super pleasant and helpful with everything. The hotel is close to some great restaurants, Kings Cross, the Sydney CBD. Being from the South Coast we booked safe parking which is a short walk away from the hotel.

The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was clean and very comfortable. Places of interest were within walking distance and there were many cute cafes around the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Sydney Boutique Hotel was amazing in terms of location. It is near to food, transportation and situated to quiet street. The room was enough for its price. The only thing that makes it bad was the coffee cups were not cleaned, it still has traces of coffee inside, which housekeeping immediately cleaned as soon as I asked them to, sadly it still smells.

NB I payed for the cheapest room they offer which was competitive in the area . Area and staff were great room was. Kean but some maintenance issues and noisy fan nearby which did stop. Otherwise a nice place and good value

Until the hotel is revamped, I would say it is past it's prime. If you arrive at night, the front hotel room with balcony would seem fine. But if you arrive during the day, you will see the dirty walls, window sills, mirrors and mouldy grout and window shutters. In the most expensive balcony rooms it doesn't feel stuffy, but it does in the rest of the windowless, dirty, run down, bleach smelling rooms. No lift means that the elderly and unfit will likely have an issue climbing and descending the many stairs. The bed was comfortable with a good mattress and fresh linen. The location is great, but I would only be prepared to stay again if I had a balcony room, and that's only if I was desperate.

There were cockroaches in my room, I asked for a refund of my second night as I checked out and into another hotel. Showed staff the cockroaches that I managed to kill and was told to email manager for refund. No response from manager after email.
