"Lovely hotel, great breakfast, very helpful staff"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are a little dated but we couldn't fault or stay. Right on the water front. The staff couldn't be more helpful.

"Recommended and very well-located"
(August, 2013) Rooms Karla (RK) is in a good location - a very short walk outside the rather overpriced, slightly grubby Yachtie-dominated settlement of Podace, and within the National Park. The stone jetty on the waterfront of the RK is clean and a nice place to laze or swim from, with an excellent outlook on the upper part of the bay. The rooms in the main buildings close to the water are probably excellent, unless a thumping drunken party boat moors close-by for the night. The under-construction building further away on the other side of the road, has some good rooms at the front (slightly marred by an ill-placed sodium street lamp) but less well-placed ones at the back. The little kitchen is well-equipped and a better alternative than the over-priced, naively exploitative restaurants in town - the tired fruit and vegetables in the local supermarkets notwithstanding. However, the Mljet National Park is a joy to be in, and RC is a wonderfully located base from which to walk/run/bike/swim ... so, all-in-all, the RC, under the management of Andro and Ane Stražičić, and their 4 daughters is strongly recommended (it is named after Karla, the youngest), especially if you can book the main building rooms or the ones at the front of the building up on the other side of the road. When and if this rear building is finished, RK will be even better. I did not see anywhere else in Podace I would rather be.

"Relaxing simplicity"
We stayed in Apartment Tajnja for 7 nights this June. The Apartment was a simple but very well kept and spacious, with a small kitchenette area (two ring electric hob, sink and fridge, crockery and utensils etc) , a nice bathroom area with good powerful shower, and a large bedroom with kingsize bed and a wonderful balcony from which you have beautiful views of the bay area in Lumbarda. The apartment owners were exceptionally helpful and hospitable providing us with free pick up from the ferry port in Korcula town, and bringing home made wine, cookies and candied orange peel to make us feel welcome. Just a short wander down the hillside is the beautiful clear sea perfect for swimming: and almost always deserted of others at the time we went. Lumbarda itself has lovely Agro-turizmo restaurants and extremely helpful and welcoming people, and in early June everything is open for the start of the tourist season but still really quiet and largely empty (And although it will get busier as the season progresses I doubt it will loose its charm). It was perfect. All in all it was a wonderful relaxed and quiet break. Exactly what we needed. Would highly recommend this for anyone seeking the raw beauty of nature in the adriatic. Its not luxury but it is everything you need. Would love to be there right now!

"Staggering views..."
As a family of 4 (children 10 & 7) we've just spent 3 nights here. We thought it was a great place with staggering views from the swimming pool and restaurant. There was plenty of space around the pool and at times this felt more like a private villa than a hotel. The pool itself was a good size & depth for our children and the food was very good. It is in a vineyard about 2 or 3 miles out of Orebic so transport is required. There isn't a good beach immediately walkable but we were pointed in direction of a nearby campsite through which there was access to a lovely pine fringed beach with a small cafe - we did have to pay to park our car at the campsite for the day. Orebic itself was nice for evening walks, drinks and ice creams. The whole Peljesac area looked very attractive and worthy of more exploring.

"Lovely hotel, great for families"
We stayed in July 2015, full board with our 2 little kids. We loved this place! Spotless room and common areas. Buffet was varied enough and had something for everyone. The pool area was gorgeous and the kids pool was nice to have. Mini club for 4-12 year olds was a nice touch, a couple hours everyday. We had a seaside room with balcony. Well worth it, we had the best view in the whole place! Would highly recommend! My only suggestion is to book a transfer if arriving in the ferry in Orebic because there wasn't a single taxi in sight and we had to walk with our luggage.
