Convenient comfortable stay
The location was perfect for the wedding we attended at Saltwater Farm Vineyard on Saturday. We were able to checkin at 2 pm which was great! We dropped our bags and drove into Stonington Borough to explore. Cute little town with a few good looking restaurants. I wished the road leading into town was less busy or we definitely would’ve walked. We decided to head into Mystic which was very close. We ate at Red36 which we highly recommend. Parking is easy with no time limit so after we ate we were able to stroll into town without having to move our car. The apartment was spacious and yes older but clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of paper goods and fresh towels too. Dorothy said there may be family staying upstairs but we didn’t notice anyone while we were there. Parking on the street was fine. My only suggestion would be to have the tub reglazed and some new grout would make the bath feel a little spiffier and more sanitary. Don’t get me wrong it was clean but could use a little attention. The location was perfect and the bed was comfortable even though at first it seemed extra firm, we both slept well both nights. A couple of the dining chairs seemed a little rickety so we didn’t use them but if we had eaten meals in I would’ve been a little nervous trying them. They were cute but seemed fragile. There’s no air conditioning but the weekend was cool and a bit damp in the morning. We bumped up the heat temporarily to dry things out and warm up which was fine.

Thank you for your rating and comments, Sandy. They are helpful and encouraging to the priortization of my to do list. I apologize that I didnt put the directions for walking into town more front and center. There is a pedestrian bridge over the RR tracks at the end of Elm St that is safer, quieter, shorter, and much prettier than driving. I will address that issue before Friday's visitors arrive. Sweet place
Dorothy’s place is very sweet and comfortable and exactly as advertised. It was a good home away from and we could easily get to all the lovely and interesting things in the area. I enjoyed sitting in the back yard as well as in the lovely apartment. I recommend it.

Charming, warm and welcoming!
I have to say that this is our second stay with Dorothy and my husband and I are both completely charmed by the house, the garden, the neighborhood, and the host! We have family that we visit in the area and are so pleased to have discovered the "blue house". It's calm, comfortable, clean and reminds us of the home we had when we were first married (and still miss!). Dorothy is the perfect host - kind and welcoming but also allows you privacy. We will be returning to stay many times in the future!

Convenient, Calm and Cozy
My husband and I just enjoyed our third stay at Dorothy's wonderful home. We live out of state but often visit the area as we have family in both Mystic and Pawcatuck, so the location of the property is absolutely ideal for us. Everywhere we need to go can be reached in 15 minutes or less. The home is clean and comfortable, the kitchen is sufficiently equipped for meal preparation. Dorothy is a wonderful host and we look forward to our next stay!

The purpose of our visit was to explore the Mystic Seaport Museum. This great old house provided the perfect base camp for us. Convenient, comfortable, quiet and affordable.

Centrally located, yet blissfully quiet
I very much enjoyed my stay in this lovely, old house. It has, as the owner states, the quaint patina of a century's worth of living. The wide moldings, the heavy cracked plaster walls, the warm glow of the wooden floors, the latched kitchen cabinets all added to rather than detracted from the visit. I would have loved to have seen the large gardens in all their summer glory, but it was enough to enjoy the fruit tree (persimmons?) and honeysuckle vines while sipping morning coffee on the back porch swing. It was an easy walk to the Velvet Mill and over the bridge to Stonington borough. A twenty minute drive in either direction brought you to Mystic or the Westerly beaches. I have been coming to this area in early fall for many years, and this tidy charming home's location was ideal for my first solo visit. I hope to return next year to enjoy the pleasures it offers.

Lovely stay in Stonington
The Blue house was in a nice area, walking distance to the village. The kitchen was well equipped although I never cooked because the restaurants in the area were so good. The property description and pictures are very accurate and I had a lovely stay. The only issue for me was that the bed was a bit firm… but I am a very petite woman and prefer a little softer bed.

Close to Salt Water Vineyard, downtown Stonington and Mystic. Though there isn’t AC there are ceiling fans and standing fans and I slept great. Neighborhood is very quiet. It’s was a perfect place for one. Extremely clean and owner responds quickly to questions.

Homiest VRBO to date
We felt comfortable allowing our 5 year old outside alone as this is on a quiet side street with a back yard entrance. Lots of birds, lighthouse horn in distance but we got used to it and we live in the woods. About a 20 minute drive to the ocean but we didn't mind. This VRBO definitely suited our needs.

We recently visited Stonington and spent a night at this historic property. We had a pleasent stay overall. The house is just as pictured and was quite spacious enough for the 2 of us. This is a 100 year old home that has been divided into a first floor and a second floor apartment. You stay in the first floor. The apartment consists of a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bath room. Walls are plaster, floors are hardwood with throw rugs, kitchen counter top is glazed tile. It is like stepping into a time machine that is spotless. If you want or need the cookie cutter amenities of the current chain motels/hotels this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quiet older home with a wonderful hostess, this is it.

This is an older house near Stonington. It is relatively inexpensive for the area and offers a good value. The bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The bathroom is small and in need of updating but everything functions well and was clean. It is convenient to Stonington and Mystic and was easy to find. We were there 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. Lovely week by the shore
My teenage daughters and I spent the week at Dorothy’s lovely apartment in Stonington while one of the girls spent a week at camp at Mystic Aquarium. The apartment was a good fit for three of us and very centrally located while still being peaceful and a restful place to come home to. The first days of our August stay were some of the hottest of the year and we did fine with the fans and Dorothy was kind enough to bring us one extra on a particularly hot day. Once the heat broke there were perfect garden breezes all day. The house is just a short distance from historic Stonington Borough and it’s lovely homes and beach. We watched the sunset from DuBois beach every evening. Dorothy is a wonderful host, she allows you privacy but is quick to answer questions and if you need anything she’s right there. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We had a great stay at 6 Grandview park! Dorothy was very responsive and was always letting us know to reach out to her about anything. The house was so cute and homey and was a perfect location for the wedding we were attending at the Saltwater Farms Vinyard. It was also very close to downtown Stonington and Mystic. The house was very clean and had great fans that made a great breeze inside. Check in and check out were very easy and I would definitely recommend this Vrbo!
