Conveniently located to “downtown” shops/restaurants/bars. Shuttle bus stop outside for going to ski resort. Friendly staff. Older motel but well maintained (had just installed new cardkey door locks). Pet-friendly, as some guests had dogs with them. New building construction next door was only mildly disruptive and should be finished soon.

Our room was cleaned out while we were out skiing. Our food in the tiny refrigerator was removed. Front desk denied that anyone had been in the room. Note that the room may look large in the pictures, but it is not. That said, the dressers were plenty large and beds very comfortable.

This "Nordic Lodge" was way over rated at 9.2, and way too costly for a tiny room with no breakfast. The pool was empty, as in, lacking water. And the hot tub was thick with scum-bubble greasy froth, and smelled toxic. I would never climb into a tub in that repulsive condition. At almost $300/night it was highway robbery of the worst kind. In ghe morning they allowed a blue-smoke deisel truck idle for 45 minutes and the whole place, including the lobby, smelled like a burned-out oil barrel.

Our pool is an outdoor pool,it is not possible to safely maintain it in a climate where we get several feet of snow and temperatures dip into the negatives. Our hot tub has its chemical levels and pH is tested daily. We don't have any control over our guests warming up their vehicles, we apologize. Diesel engines do need to warm up more than gasoline engines, with such cold temperatures especially. We hope you have a great day and regret you didn't enjoy your stay. This is 1980’s cheap motel priced at over $300 a night! No facilities apart from a very dated room that is only serviced by begging the maids! Only saving grace is the location.

I paid almost a thousand dollars to stay at this "hotel". Its a Motel not a Hotel, 90's decor and sheets all nastry and disgusting. Smelled like an old ladies house. On top of the 1.000 i paid they charged 100$ extra for "amenities" (2 coffees) and the wifi. Wish was NEVER used. And they charge $25 a day for a pet. Over all felt robed. The front desk is never working.

I’ve been staying here for years. It’s been a great locals hotel. The new owners and their staff don’t seem to care about the conditions of the rooms, facilities, etc. my door would only stay shut with use of the deadbolt, there was a sack of trash left at the bottom of the stairs when I checked in at 8PM. Roll away bed left in the open walkway overnight.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Roads were closed due to storm so decided to stay overnight. Booked w Expedia. Arrived at 4PM. Was told room not cleaned yet but would be ready by 5PM. 14 rooms to be cleaned w only one housekeeper per front desk person. Same thing was happening to other people so hotel office was full of people. Numerous people turned away w reservations from Expedia because rooms were not only not clean but overbooked - they were the lucky ones. Front desk person left office at around 4:45 saying he was going to go clean two of the rooms himself. Returned around 6:15 saying the same “14 rooms yet to be cleaned w only one housekeeper”. So In other words no rooms had been cleaned by anyone in 2 hours 15 minutes. Hate being lied to. Left and cancelled reservation. Since there was a storm the remaining rooms left in town were $570 minimum at second rate hotels and went up steeply from there. Run don’t walk away from this place!

Great lodging option in downtown steamboat. The hot tub was questionable, had a weird smell and wasn't extremely clean. Front desk staff was hard to get ahold of.

We have hard water and it doesn't smell like bleach because we do not over chlorinate it. We are a small staff and we wear a lot of hats! The room was fine. However they took my credit card for incidentals. I had paid in full for the room on Expedia. The Nordic lodge charged my credit card not for incidentals, but for the full price of the room. Now I get to spend time with my credit card company trying to get a refund. Stay away unless you like chasing down and getting refunds for billing errors.

Downgraded room, no compensation
I have stayed at the Nordic Lodge for decades. It was dated, but the location was great, the staff was kind and the rooms well maintained. The hotels recently came under new ownership. It has not been a good change. I booked a comfort room with one queen bed, listed as 225 sq'. When we arrived we received a room less than 90 sq' with a full sized bed. When I spoke with the front desk I was told they were over booked and they offered a partial refund if I cancelled and moved to another hotel. But the whole town was sold out. Our friends who were also booked at Nordic Lodge received a 7 hours before check in and they were told the hotel was over booked and their reservation had been cancelled. The room downgrade without compensation was the worst part, but we didn't have hot water in the shower. One of the walls was 2 sheets of plywood screwed to the studs. The table was melted. A wheel kept falling off the chair. The hot tub was drained and not usable. And basic amenities you would expect like soap and shampoo were not in the room. The amount of dust made it clear the room had not been cleaned. I'm attaching photos so you can see, the bed was 4" from one wall and 6" from the other, thick dust, melted table, stained sheets, holes in the doors, etc.

I fully appreciate you expecting receiving one room and another being delivered a different one. It is unfortunate and regrettable. It was not what we meant to have happen intentionally. It was a matter of circumstances not within our control. We provided you with the last room we available in our inventory. We wanted to provide you with a clean and comfortable accommodation. It was a smaller unit, granted, but we did not want you to not have an accommodation or pay a higher rate at another property on a very busy time here in Steamboat Springs. I apologize we could not meet the expectations you had for your stay with us, but I hope your stay was as pleasant as it could have been in spite of that fact. Again we apologize, we were trying to do our best, we hope you will give us a chance in the future to do right by you. Thank you and have a great day.

The motel is good for a short stay. The staff is very helpul, the room was large and we had booked for a night. We got checked in very quickly, Expedia did a good job to find us a good deal. The night rate was very high although. On downside, parking can be challenging, our TV and Microwave was not functioning well and linen had stains. Just need to make it better for guests to appreciate the service they pay for. Overall i would give a 4 /5 rating

We didn’t get in until about 1 am. The front office sign says they close at 11 but the app said they were 24 hour. The door was open & the lady told me, she’s there all night. She was very helpful & nice. We took a shower before getting into bed & the water ended up about at my high ankles. It took over an hour for the water to drain. This is after I had already cleaned out a few pieces of someone else’s hair from the bottom of the bathtub. The sheets looked clean but definitely had some very small stains on them. The price of the hotel was about half of the others around them. I’m sure this is part of the reason.

flight cancelled late evening & easily booked room last minute. Room was satisfactory & did the job. Had flight booked at 7 am next morning & decided to reserve steamboat express for 5:30 am pickup in which they never showed or called & utterly became useless once I called them 4x & not able to resolve their no show. Thankfully Lily at the front desk drove me as I was out of time to get to airport. Airport staff Tsa & airport service were amazing. This is what customer service looks like steamboat express. Fantastic experience with all experiences in steamboat except so called transport company. Jason
