Will be back!!
Beautiful hotel in Saint Petersburg. The breakfast was worth the extra cost. It was a quiet hotel with a market across the street, and great for anyone who speaks English. Every employee I encountered spoke both Russian and English. The staff was friendly, and even though the hotel was at capacity while I was there it was still cozy, and uncrowded.

The hotel is very nice. The staff are very helpful and kind. All know English and speak very well. The hotel is not in the center but not that far away, like 30 min walk to the Hermitage. The breakfast is very basic, nothing special. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Even though out windows face the street, there weren’t noises.

Beautifully Restored Hotel Excellent Staff
The interior of the public rooms have been restored to a high standard, very impressive The hotel is easily accessed from both the main railway station and Nevsky Prospect,about 30 minutes walking to the Winter Palace Out check in was quick and the young lady was friendly, helpful and informative Our room,which was spacious, clean and comfortable with mini kitchen, was on the 6th floor and our beds were under a sloping roof Had it not been for other factors, I would not have given this hotel a top rating However there are other factors which justified my opinion All the staff were excellent but particularly the young blonde lady at the bar The dinner we had,Prix Fixe was excellent and superb value at 500 roubles for three courses of lovely food Breakfast choice and quality were good but like many others I don't like the frankfurter type sausages In summary,I'd strongly recommend for a great value stay in the city

It is cheap, clean, and the staff is friendly. The room was spacious and well maintained. The bed was ok. Location is off-centre, but not too far away from the attractions. Disadvantages: wifi does not work with the US phone numbers (they can help at the front desk); the art in my room was kinda strange and ambiguous.

The hotel was very charming and quite near Nevsky Prospekt - the main street. However, it was far away enough to enjoy another neighbourhood of the city. The staff was very helpful! Totally recommended.

Nice unique style and decor and intimate. Off main tourist centre but this a good thing as it had good transport links to everything. Only fault was limited menu, but maybe this was seasonal.

Everything is unique about this property. I would recommend everybody to stay in this Hotel! Comparing to other mini hotels I must say this one is really the best. Not to mention it is in the center of the city, the atmosphere inside is so warm, comfortable. You feel like you are the most welcome person. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It was my second stay in hotel Vera and definitely not the last one.

The hotel was close to the heart of the city with trolley buses passing the front door every few minutes. The hotel was very welcoming with comfortable lounge seating in the reception area. Also operated a modern licensed restaurant. Staff spoke English and were very helpful.

The hotel is located around 10 mins from the train station by walk. It’s easy to access public transportation but it’s not close to the attractions. You can go to supermarket, restaurant and coffee shop just less than 5 mins by walk. Staffs are nice and helpful. Room is clean. Price is reasonable.

The only bad thing is that they didn't have converters. Public transportation is close 5,7 or 10 will take you to the Hermitage. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff.

Excellent-World Cup stay
Hotel was beyond expectations, staff was great very helpful most of them spoke great English. Located a bit far from downtown but within walking distance which it was great since it was quiet at night. There is a restaurant inside the hotel ,so room service was always available during the day. Great variety of breakfast options. Also there's a restaurant and supermarket across street open 24/7 which we found to be very convinient. Will definitely stay there again highly recommended!!!

We actually do provide mosquito spray at the front desk, and the information folders in each room contain information about the city's sights and transport routes. This information about is also contained in a slide show that is broadcast around the clock in the reception area. In addition, upon arrival, all guests are told that they can contact the reception staff at any time and for any questions.

Good budget choice with excellent transport links
Hotel Vera is clean and - though there were no frills in my budget single room - all the basics (abundant hot water, comfortable bed, plentiful storage) were present and the little fridge in the room was a useful addition. Not a huge room but big enough; my only gripes: an uncomfortable hard chair to sit on and centrally-controlled air conditioning, meaning that unless you want to keep calling reception, you're stuck with the management decision of when to turn it on and off. The staff are friendly and helpful and happy to assist with arranging taxis etc, and though I didn't sample the breakfast offered with my room - I preferred to breakfast in my room - the other gusets looked happy enough, so assume it was nice. The hotel is a little off the beaten tourist track, but as reception advised, this isn't an issue as there are very frequent buses (40 roubles, conductor on board, numbers 5, 7 and 11 all go to the Hermitage or beyond), which whiz you around very efficiently and on the whole are better than the relative slow and not so easily negotiated Metro!

Clean hotel with wonderful staff
We had a comfortable, spacious, clean room with daily housekeeping. The staff were very helpful with city directions during our stay, and ordered our airport taxi for us when we had to leave at 4 am. They even provided a lunchbox for us because we would be missing the breakfast that morning. The breakfast buffet that was included with the room was excellent.

Great hotel with exceptionally helpful staff
We spent 5 nights at Hotel Vera. Excellent location within 10 - 15 minute walk of Nevsky Prospect and Metro station (trolley bus stop outside if don't want to walk). Extra helpful/ friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Room comfortable and very clean. Double beds a little on the small side but can be managed. Fantastic time in St Petersburg, easy to get around and loads to see. Hotel provides lots of information.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback, especially your comments about our staff. As far as everything else, unfortunately, you are misinformed. The folder on the desk in each room contains a description of services that are available in the Hotel. In particular, it mentions that the toiletries (shower cap included) are available free of charge at the desk and will be brought to your room as soon as the desk receives your request over the telephone. This folder also lists available TV channels: BBC is included among the over 40 selection of channels, so that it is not easy to find the channel you are looking for without a reference guide. We do not provide tea/coffee facilities in the rooms but hot water is available 24/7 from multiple drinking water coolers in the hallways, located within a short distance from any room.

My stay at the Vera Hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. My room was clean and comfortable and room service was excellent. I also recommend eating at the Vera Cafe inside the hotel, the food was great. The staff there were very helpful in everyway. Hotel Vera was very close to the trolley stop. The trolley was very easy to find and use and they come within 15 minutes.

Hotel Vera is the place to stay.
Hotel Vera has an extremely friendly, helpful staff. The desk clerks are knowledgable about places to visit in the city, transportation to all the sites and museums, and evening events. They helped with website purchase of opera tickets at the Mariinsky Theater. Also directions on where to get the City Tour bus. There is easy access by public transportation to the city center, the metro, and large shopping areas. Nearby are many cafés and a few coffee shops, but the food at Vera Cafe is delicious and reasonable. My mother cannot walk very far, so we ate most of our meals at the hotel. The fixed price lunch and dinner menus are reasonable, varied, and delicious. The buffet breakfast is included with the room price and the food is wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay. It is the third visit to St. Petersburg for my husband and myself, and we have stayed here all three times. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well- maintained.

Hotel staff were amazing...They went out of their way to help me....I went to the St Petersburg Tennis Open on my last day....They found out all the details, costs, how to get there etc. I was leaving at 8pm the same night and when I got back to hotel at 1/4 to 7 there was a taxi waiting for me....Everybody was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the hotel.

Great hotel, great food, great staff!
I have been to Europe six times in the past 18 months and this hotel was my favorite out of everywhere I stayed, in every country. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, and friendly, and everyone spoke fluent or near-fluent English. The food was excellent, be sure to try the house salad with potatoes and mushrooms. It is the best salad I've ever had. Restaurant prices were excellent as well, the food could have easily sold for more given the quality. You can catch the trolleybus in front of the hotel and it takes you all the way up Nevsky Prospect to the Admiralty, which is pretty much the center of the cultural sites. The trolley bus also gets to the Vossitanya metro stop and Moscovey train station in about five minutes, which makes it very convenient to get to the metro or trains as well.
