"The reception was ok. Cleanliness ok Bed comfort Zero Bathroom Area Zero General atmosphere Zero. Only food available a Breakfast box by the door. Left after one night and had to pay to stay in another hotel Hotel near by provide good service and Evening meal plus cooked breakfast at just a small amount more than the Westcliffe. Cost me an additional £500. Covid Excuse does not apply as I have stayed in 4 hotels in Devon and Cornwall all providing good service and Food. Only worth £40 per...

"I've stayed in this hotel many times, as it probably the nicest hotel in Bournemouth. However, that is not to say it doesn't have its issues. Given it's an old hotel that has been modernised, there is a lot of issue with noise, particularly between the floors - you can hear every footstep someone makes above you, that is not an exaggeration. The doors on the rooms are not on soft closers to prevent slamming, so you will encounter a lot of noise if you have fellow guests who are less considerate with not closing the door quietly, and letting it slam. Staff in the restaurant and bar are ok - just ok. You will often be waiting a while to served or even acknowledged, but once you have they are friendly. Reception staff are a mixed bag - some very kind, helpful and cheery, but one woman on my most recent stay was curt and barely made eye contact with me. Food served in the restaurants is nice, but not exceptional. All of these issues are exacerbated by knowing what you are paying to stay there. This hotel is not cheap!"

"On arrival very impressed with the car parking and security around the car park. Lovely twin room - every member of staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast and the amazing choice of what was available- well done, fantastic location for us aswell, shame about the miserable June weather."

"Our room was very nice ( a suite ) and very well presented and clean. Staff were generally pleasant and did sort out the problems we encountered during our stay to the best of their ability. Breakfast was chaotic and not very well organised, tables not re-set, items missing and not replaced, had to keep asking for certain things. The first few days the dinner menu was poor but they then presented a better menu with more choice towards the end of our week but the website shows it differently. A superb location for the beach and walks. Unfortunately the hotel inside pool needs refurbishment so not too pleasant to swim in at the moment. Generally the hotel needs updating in certain areas."

"Nice room with balcony and distant sea view. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy some of the facilities on offer. Bathroom was pretty good with a shower over the bath. Controls were a little stiff and difficult, not at all intuitive to use but there was plenty of hot water. Bed was on the hard side but comfortable enough. My only complaint would be the distance between the bed and the wall making it difficult to get out, particularly at night. Not helped by the large picture hanging right where you need to walk, very easy to knock as you squeeze past in the dark. Dinner was a set menu and was quite good but with limited choice made even more limited on a Sunday if you did not wish to have a roast, two of the five options, fortunately we did. Breakfast was a very good hot buffet. We were certainly set up for the day. Would I stay again? Probably, yes."

"Good family room. Ac was working fine. No minibar fridge in room. Asked room service to clean the room after 2 night stay and went out but it was untouched when I came back. Breakfast was ok. Pool was good. But spa facilities busy most of the time. Reception staff were very helpful. Overall good stay."
