"We just spent five weeks in Japan and are still talking about the food we ate here. It is nothing short of spectacular. We paid quadruple at other ryokans and this one had the best food, best location and the best onsens. It’s an older place with older, big onsens and for us that was the charm of it. "They gave us the worst possible room. It was a room with one flight of staircup, then one floor of stairs down with no elevators. When I noticed several empty rooms I asked if she could change the room and she said it will cost us extra 20,000 yens. We had two suitcases to carry up and then down and no help was offered. I expected a bit more for the price I paid. Meals were also just fine. The hot springs temperature is very hot. The open air bath was better. However when I visited in the morning I noticed holes in the wall. Unfortunately I would not recommend this location. If you already have a reservation, refuse any room from 121-130. They are the ones in the dungeon."
