The Expedia description of the room I had booked, said: "city view". In actual fact, my "view" was a wall. In addition, the noise from a building site immediately next to my room, was extremely loud, and carried on, intermittently, all day. That was my first day. I asked at the reception if they could give me at least a quiet room, after finding out, that there was no such thing as a city view available in this hotel. After much deliberation, I received a quiet room on the next day. But it involved a lot of time and effort on my part. The receptionist, Zulema, as well as the housekeeper, Daniela, were extremely friendly and helpful, and did everything possible to help. After 5 days, I was offered to move to a room with sea view, which made a world of difference, and I enjoyed another 5 days there, with a wonderful view towards Valletta, as well as the seafront of Sliema, which is always busy with people walking, jogging, or just sitting and enjoying the view... The music from the restaurant right in front of the hotel can get a bit noisy, but with a closed balcony door, I could sleep no problem. I would recommend paying the extra price for a room with "sea view" any time, because it is worth it. The buffet breakfast is good, with "english" or "continental" choices available. All the staff of the hotel was friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you. One other thing every guest will experience, is the old elevator, because it has a mind of its own! You need a lot of patience!
