Loved this little hotel in San Gimignano!! Right in the historical town centre! An exciting drive into the village central to offload the luggage! bit off a hike from the public parking after though. Such a gorgeous view from our balcony overlooking the stunning Tuscan hillside!! Very very clean!! Very very comfortable!! Very very convenient!! The staff were very friendly, and very helpful!! Will highly recommend and stay again!!!

Wonderful location of the property. The room was clean and well cared for with daily cleaning and towels provided. The rooms weren’t the most quiet perhaps because we were on the bottom floor. We would often hear the rooms beside us. The rooms are a little out dated as well. Apart from that beautiful property and location. Would have been nice to have access to an outdoor garden. Great staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Functional hotel in that most people obviously only stay for one night--we stayed for 2 nights which was perfect as it is such an inpsiting place to be during the day and during the evening. Parking a bit of a pain!

Even better than we hoped.
We picked the hotel for its location, which is perfect, however we did not expect it to be so good in all other ways. We especially loved the views from the restaurant whilst eating the very good value breakfast. The staff were very helpful and gave us all the support we needed with regard to busses and museums - including a discount ticket.

A great stay with the piazza's view
The hotel is just in the center of S.g. which is great for visitors of the town. As there is no parking inside of the old town you need to know its around 10 min walking from the parking. (Cost almost 5€ per day) The staff is very gentle and helpful and the view from our room to the piazza was very nice.

Great location in the centre of town. We had a balcony room with a view which has been recently modernised. Only down point was the hairdryer wasn’t strong at all. Bathrooms newly done and lovely.

La Cisterna is a beautiful hotel in the heart of town. It looks like a few buildings were combined, so floors are not all level, after getting off the elevator we had a short flight of stairs from one part of the floor to another, as well as about 4 stairs in our room between the door, sleeping area, and bathroom. If you have a problem with stairs you might want to make that known before getting a room assignment. The included breakfast was more than adequate, with hot and cold choices, and delicious homemade cakes, as well as packaged

Our room was directly under the kitchen. Every morning at 6:30 - 7 am we were woken up by the staff preparing beeakfast. The walls are very think in this hotel. Noise in the hall of luggqge or talking enters the room like they are standing beside you. It woke us up late unti the night.

What we can add to your review is that, unlike usual, in the past few days a group had a setback and arrived very late in the night and had to leave very early in the morning, maybe that's why you heard these noises at unusual times. We have renovated rooms that have soundproof walls and in any case the Hotel, despite being in the central square, is quiet. However, we take inspiration from your review to suggest to all our customers to write in the booking notes if they have particular needs, it will be a pleasure to satisfy them. This was the worst check in we ever had. We were given a room impossible to stay in, a smelly basement and then at 10:00pm we were told to drive our car outside the town without any explanation. We got lost and ended scratching the car in those narrow streets what costed us $1000. The following day we decided to explore the region as we were disappointed with San Gimignano and discovered incredible villages close by as Pisa, Pienza, Montalcino. Also the breakfast was the worst on our 2 weeks trip. I am just describing what happen to us but that doesn’t mean other person had the same experience. The only thing I know, we are glad to be out of there.

From the moment we don't know your identity we can not understand who were the collegues involved at the check-in and at the breakfast. We normally give all information about how to reach our hotel and we do this before the arrival by e-mail (when we have it), at your arrival and we are happy to give more information also about the way the go out at your departure. San Gimignano is a medioeval village and maybe is not so easy to drive by car, for this we have also a shuttle bus service available on request. About the room you could ask to change it, when is possible we can do it because we understand some times it's hard to figure out how things are and maybe your expectations were different from reality so for us is important to understand your needs. Our traditional Breakfast is served in our panoramic Restaurant Le Terrazze overlooking the valley. On our free Buffet you have salty or sweet things as: different kind of bread and panini, cooked ham, salami, cheese, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, bacon, fresh vegetables and fruits, pastries, croissant, home made cakes, cereals, yogurt, butter, marmalade, jam, honey and and chocolate cream. To drink we serve: water, coffee, milk, tea, hot chocolate and orange juice. We have a self service coffee machine with coffee in grains and fresh milk and asking we can prepare you espresso and cappuccino at the bar! We also have the corner with gluten-free products and a corner with Tuscan specialties. All this is included in the price of the room. We fill the Buffet from 7:30 to 9:45 ending time for Breakfast. If you arrive later that this time maybe the Buffet will not be full. Please if you believe we need to add or change something do not hesitate to contact privately. We will be happy to welcome every suggestion. Please accept our excuses for any misunderstood. All our best regards, staff and family

Great to stay in the centre of the old town. Beautiful and quiet once the tour groups leave so you really get to enjoy the beauty of the location. The rooms are super quiet, so you can sleep in even with the market going full tilt outside your window. Breakfasts are fine, but you can't beat the view of the restaurant over the Tuscan countryside and old town--worth the stay in itself!
