Cozy and warm spot in the redwoods
This was a great spot in the redwoods! The house was clean and well stocked with amenities. The two bedrooms were on the lower (ground) floor, but the living areas and front door were up the flight of stairs. There was a back door for entry at ground level.

Great Redwood Escape
This is a special/spiritual property. Buried in Redwood trees. Five miles from SRL, way up in the private redwoods. We never left the property, after arriving. A great experience we will never forget. Fully furnished. I would definitely book again. Many Thanks. The Jacuzzi was awesome and much needed.

Redwoods calm
Charming, serene home in the redwoods. Let the natural beauty soothe you. We felt like we were living among the trees. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this beautiful setting. A wonderful place to get away from it all. Plenty of hiking trails nearby and the gorgeous Sea Ranch community never disappoints.

Cabin in the woods feel
It was a fine place to stay. It had everything I needed and seemed clean. The beds were more squishy than I like, but they were fine for a couple of nights. It is at the top of a big hill and in the woods so harder to access the bluff trails which make Sea Ranch so great for me. My friend and I also had a very hard time accessing the Wi-Fi and had to try multiple times before getting it to work. This was challenging, as I arrived alone and had no service for miles.

Lovely simple house in the trees. Three stories all in trees. Hot tub.Two cozy bedrooms downstairs. Living room and well appointed kitchen on middle floor and a recreation room on top. Easy access to trails both in woods and along the ocean. My friend and I and both our dogs felt right at home and far away from the daily worries of home!

Hideaway in the Trees
We had a lovely time at the property, which was very private amongst the redwoods. The unit contained everything we needed for a restful visit and the kitchen was well equipped. Even the barbecue outside was ready with charcoal! We loved the outdoor hot tub and the indoor wood burning fireplace. Plenty of firewood and kindling provided. Catherine was very responsive. Highly recommend this property! Also convenient to the Sea Ranch Lodge, which we enjoyed for evening cocktails. Loved the kayak rentals on the Gualala River. Beautiful spot.

Amazing Sea Ranch Getaway
Firstly, Catherine was an excellent host! She responded quickly to questions and made sure we were take. Care of. A wonderful experience all around. The house itself was fantastic! Very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The location is great, just a short drive to many beaches, hikes, and Gualala restaurants and stores. This will definitely be a repeat stay!

It would have been nice to be informed of the issue instead of reading it in a review especially since I responded promptly three times to emails questions and allowed extra guests at no additional cost. This is something that needs to be addressed with housekeeping prior to new guests arriving but it was never reported as an issue by previous guests nor to me personally by this guest.

Charming and refreshing getaway
The pictures don’t do this property justice! The home is a striking tower snuggled in by redwoods, and although it’s a smaller home, the three levels create a spacious feeling and plenty of privacy for different members of your party! There’s a loft upstairs, living room on the middle floor, and then the bedrooms are downstairs. Everything you need is there, kitchen is well equipped, beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are clean and inviting. The hot tub is really hot! Very nice and clean and overall such a wonderful and relaxing stay. Trails everywhere and close to the beach and lodge . We will definitely be back!

Very nice getaway for my husband and I. Plus we brought our dog too! We were able to enjoy the ocean and mountains. Nice place inside and out. So quiet and serene. This was an anniversary gift to ourselves and well worth it.

We found Moonraker to be very comfortable for us and our two chihuahuas. The kitchen was well equipped to meet my cooking needs. The bluffs, beaches and hiking trails in the area were easy to access. The owner and her housekeeper were very attentive in checking in to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect.

Perfect Getaway
I travel often for work and play - this trip was both and I invited a friend to come with a few days early so we could drive north from San Francisco and have an adventure. What an delightful and unexpected trip we had. We purposely chose something out of the way - a little forest...a little ocean. Quiet and restful - something to take away the busyness even if only for a few days. We got all of that and more. The Sea Ranch has a really interesting history. If you stay in this house - there is a coffee table book that tells it all and I encourage you to read all of it. The Sea Ranch is not just a community...but a lifestyle - natural, laid back....quiet. You could easily drive through it and not even know it was there. Situated along a 10 mile stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway (HWY 1) you will find gorgeous views, breathtaking sunsets, great hikes and all the nature you can absorb. It was just what we needed. The Moonraker house was wonderful - just as described. The host was very nice and checked in to make sure we were happy. The house was clean and functional - with everything we needed. It was easy to access with plenty of instruction and maps to local places. The beds were comfy and the hot tub was hot!! We loved it!! The house is really cool - laid out just perfectly with delightful outdoor spaces that enhance your time in nature. Just a quick hike down the road and you are at Black Point Beach - simply incredible. Restaurants and shops are as described at the main center and 10 miles north in Gualala. Everyone was very hospitable everywhere we went. Couple of tips: you most likely won't have phone service, but the WIFI works great. There are signs everywhere...so if you don't have service and can't get a map....just drive another mile and you'll find another coast access point. Every beach is fantastic - and beleive me....we hiked down to every one....(so happy about that hot tub!!). If you go to the Sea Ranch Community Center and want any meal - you won't be disappointed, just make sure to make reservations - they are sticklers about that. Make sure to stop by the Sea Ranch Chapel (magical), Trinks Restaurant in Gualala for breakfast or lunch (delicious), Gualala Arts Center and Dune Drift beach - there be colorful rocks to collect there. All that topped off with a few drives up and down the PCH and an afternoon in the Redwood Forest and you have a perfect get away. Highly recommended!!

The perfect getaway
Lovely home in the secluded Sea Ranch community. It’s on the other side of the highway in the redwoods, so no ocean view, but breathtaking all the same. The home was so charming with a fully stocked kitchen. They had all the amenities you could need and made everything so easy for a relaxing vacation. We went with our two dogs who found the home just to their liking as well. Do not recommend for old dogs as there are a lot of stairs. But it’s a perfect location for hiking. We had so much fun touring Gualala which was a quick 15 minutes away. So many beach and hiking trails to access. And that hot tub was heaven! Would definitely come back again.

Wonderful Birthday weekend getaway!
Fabulous! Peaceful, beautiful and perfect in every way. This was our second time here. A wonderful way to spend a pre birthday weekend with my two loves; my partner and our sweet 2 year old dog. Great kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare a few meals, cozy living room with fireplace for chilly evenings, very comfortable bed, and a fabulous private hot tub surrounded by redwood trees. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommend this house in the redwoods!!

Secluded sanctuary
What a beautiful spot. This house was spotlessly clean, well maintained and just perfect for our stay. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed to cook. My family had such a lovely time here and can't wait to stay again. Catherine is also very responsive to messages and seems to really care about her guests. I highly recommend staying here.

Overall, we had a nice visit to Sea Ranch and will come again but most likely will not stay in this home the next time. I appreciate that our dogs were allowed, however there were stains on the furniture and carpets, and lots of clutter throughout the house that needed a good cleaning and dusting. We did not have communication with the property owner at all except for all the handwritten rules and email introduction threatening extra $50 charges for numerous things such as not cleaning well before leaving, not putting sheets and towels in washer, not emptying garbage, arriving earlier or leaving later, etc. It did not leave a friendly or welcoming impression. The kitchen had nice pots and pans but the rest of the house needs some serious updating. Sheets and bedding were old and well worn, the info binder was out of date, the Sea Ranch map was so old it was falling apart at the seams and there were many tattered handwritten instructional notes spread throughout the house. The hot tub was an older model but was clean. Between the refrigerator above and the hot water heater next to the bedrooms, there was a good deal of noise at night that made it hard to sleep.

Relaxing and peaceful long weekend
Amazing house in the majestic redwoods. We had everything we needed from the kitchen to dog blankets to cover the furniture. Lovely fireplace and plenty of fire wood for cozy evenings. Excellent hiking trails through the redwoods practically out the front door. The only disappointment was that the hot tub was non functional (which was the feature that attracted us to this vacation rental in the first place). All things considered we loved our time here. Look forward to coming back someday!

Quiet Oasis in the Forest
We loved Catherine’s spacious cabin in the woods. The house has an interesting design with 3 levels, offering a lot of privacy throughout the house. Lots of gorgeous views with big windows and lovely upstairs deck for viewing the forest. We also enjoyed sitting out back on the patio table and soaking our feet in the hot tub amongst the trees. We were in town for a work trip and the location was perfect. Thanks again!

We were very impressed with this house. It's super clean and tidy, in excellent shape, relaxing. The architecture is really nice with high wood ceilings and beams. A cool deck off the loft overlooks the redwoods, and the hottub in the backyard is nestled in the trees. The house is really private and cozy, a great place for a few days of quiet and peace. The beach and lodge are just a couple minutes drive down the hill, and there's even a wooded hiking trail just a couple minutes walk away. The owner was so nice and responsive! Probably the best communication with any owner I've ever had. I can definitely see us coming back here again.

This was my first trip to California. I absolutely loved this home and the community. Beautiful scenery with amazing beaches and trees, not many people, not commercialized. This is a great place for the outdoor enthusiast. The home was comfy and had everything we needed. We loved the architectural history of this place. It was deeply relaxing, serene, and quiet. If you are looking for a luxurious modern hotel like home with lots of nearby restaurants and shopping, this is not the place for you. If you want to relax away from the hustle and bustle, hike, watch gorgeous sunsets and be the only people on the beach you will love The Sea Ranch. The hottub is small but was the perfect place to sit and soak after a day of hiking and beachcombing. Nearby Gualala had great little grocery stores. I would stay here again! The house even had a little cooler picnic basket and matching beach blanket for us to use!
