We stayed in Room 11 and it had so many problems! It’s in the basement (not the first floor) down very narrow steep steps hard for me to navigate but even harder for my elderly aunt, the room had multiple steps, lots of furniture that made it very difficult to navigate around the beds, beds are so high my aunt needed a step stool, a brick floor under the beds is very uneven with a rug that is a tripping hazard. There was a separate exit to the outside that required going over multiple steps that aren’t in good shape and two doors to an alleyway to get to the courtyard, there’s mold on the sitting room ceiling, there’s a broken ceramic shower handle with sharp edges, very old fashioned faucets with the cold one being almost impossible to turn, the towel rack was so shabbily put together that the rod fell down, and the breakfasts were awful. One example out of four: Eggs Benedict was hard boiled w/runny sauce and RAW English muffin. We were booked in a room on main level for our fourth night and staff was able to move us to that room a day earlier. That room was much better. The staff tried their best to be accommodating and even admitted that the room had been in dire need to renovation. When I checked out, I expected to be offered some compensation for the subpar two nights in the basement. None was forthcoming just, “I’m glad it worked out that we could switch your room.” The inn is beautiful, in a great location, has potential but is definitely not worth the money!
