AIR CONDITIONNING SET TO 24DegC. Too hot! Because of flying bugs, we couldnt open the window, so we had to sweat. At night, the walk from the car park to the hotel is in the total obscurity. No solar powered light installed for the guest's security. These 2 issues are easy to fix.

Great location
Lovely hotel in an ideal position by the river. Our only complains that there were very thin cardboard cups in the rooms for hot drinks. We understand they are trying to be eco friend it surely proper cups that can be washed are more environmentally friendly

Very worn out and outdated, from the carpets to door handles everything looks ancient; needs a major refurbishment urgently. Also very noisy, the rooms with river view are above the patio restaurant, so in the morning during breakfast, you hear loud cutlery sounds for 2-3 hours, are you not supposed to have a layin during holidays?

Nice stay and great views
The hotel is well-located in the center of the city, on the water. Unfortunately we had a room with a window on the street, but the Loire and the old Saumur made a great scenery for breakfast. The historic part of the city and all its restaurants are across the bridge, at most a 10 minute walk. The room was nice, the bed comfortable. The only negative point was the presence of a few hairs behind the bathroom door when we came in. The receptionist was quick, agreable and helpful, giving us tips on where to find a vegetarian option in the city.

Hotel is 15min walk from the train station and close to city center and restaurants. A great view of the castle. Breakfast have a great assortments. A good night stay when in town for business.

A bit of a mixed bag.....
Lovely location - fabulous views of the chateau - and good parking nearby. Room was fine if a little basic for supposedly ****? Heating control didn’t function very well and one towel less than there should have been. Minimal staff and bar lacked any welcoming ambience. However breakfast was little short of superb!

This location is on the river across from Saumur Castle and city. You should ask for riverside room and pay more for the view.

Ideally located for the old town
Well-placed hotel with parking facilities, ten minutes walk from the restaurants of the old town across the bridge. Efficient reception, room modern, clean, well-equipped and quiet despite being near lift from ground floor. Helpful staff gave good information about local eateries (including one to avoid!). Buffet breakfast more than adequate, including a cooked option and an "express" croissant/coffee combo at the bar if you're in a hurry. A useful base for exploring the local vineyards.

We stayed here overnight travelling through France and what a great decision. We paid slightly more for a premium room with a Loire view and I would recommend you do that. Although Saumur is a beautiful town, the real joy is falling asleep and waking up to the view of the river and chateau. The room was superb in all aspects. The air con was really useful. Not only for keeping the room cool but also for mossie control. On that point, they are prevalent, but if you take sensible precautions as advised by the hotel you should have no issues. Reception was quick and polite and you are within 10 minutes walk of numerous cafés and restaurants. Private secure parking is available and free. We didn't eat so cannot comment, but would strongly recommend this hotel.

When I booked this hotel I checked whether the room had wheelchair facilities or not for my son. The response was favourable. The reality was very unfavourable. The entrance to the room was very uncomfortable. The room was small and he was not able to comfortably manouver about. I also had to move the bed to give my son adequate space to get into bed. The bathroom was also another problem - it was extremely difficult to enter and very, very small. In fact, this was the most expensive of the five hotels we stayed in and had the worst facilities for him. While both check-in and check-out receptionists were friendly and efficient their responses were that there will be accessible rooms in the future. Unfortunately, the future is not the present and I feel that I was provided with false information. If they do actually renovate the rooms - might I suggest that they install two beds instead of one double. Not every wheelchair person is a couple. While the location is beautiful, I would be very slow to return to this hotel.

Great situation in Saumur
Well situated hotel overlooking the Loire. Our room had a view of the chateau,friendly staff and a great breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river. Parking for our classic car was excellent in the basement garage.

Very unfriendly and unaccommodating staff members. Breakfast staff make you feel like they are doing you a favor when serving you. Everything is done with a struggle Not a service oriented place No place for business traveller. No place to make or take calls in a business center. But there is a billiards room??????

We will be back again!
Very satisfactory in every way. Charming staff - very helpful. Secure car park (pay), luggage trolley and lift to all floors. Fantastic views across river to Chateau. Right on edge of Loire so necessary to keep windows closed warm evenings cos of tiny midges. No problem with that view! No restaurant is ONLY negative but short walk to eat out in town. Breakfast buffet is spectacular. Huge choice inc eggs, bacon etc. Best thing; home-made Peach tart. Hugely recommend.

Great loaction
We loved the view of the river and the fort and it is definitely worth booking a room with a river view. Its a very nice hotel with close access to the centre of Samuar. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast excellent. My only complaint was the plastic backed mattress protector on the bed which made it incredibly hot - we had to remove it to get some sleep and the quilt on the bed was a bit too heavy for the time of year.

Nice hotel with a great view, and I mean a great view over the river and town. Staff were efficient and helpful.
