"The views were absolutely amazing…Mt Pico in the distance, sunsets and beautiful views of the ocean. Walk down to the beach took us by beautiful flowers, adorable cows and the friendliest donkey. Beds were comfortable, showers great and a stocked kitchen. We loved the location. Helena…was amazing. She provided a warm smile upon arrival, invited us to the village festival and meal, educated us on history of the island and when we had to leave festival before they distributed the holy cakes, she had one waiting at the house for us. Pico is an amazing place and can’t recommend a visit more and do yourself a favor…stay in this beautiful house. We hope to return one day."

"The house was comfortable. The gentleman living in the adjacent home was very gracious, helpful and welcoming. The house is as listed. It is a short walk to the ocean. The view of the volcano, Pico, is magnificent. The house is about 15 minutes driving from the airport, 15-20 minutes from a supermarket, and 20-25 minutes from the ferry in Magdalena. The interior lighting is not great, but everything else in the house was good. Although the house is quaint and rustic, it is clean, safe and appointed with all necessary amenities."

"Casa Santana is relatively recently renovated traditional stone house with beautiful views out over the sea and the island of Sao Jorge and easy access to some lovely walks including one along the coast. We really enjoyed sitting on the covered terrace listening to and watching the birds, lizards and bats and watching sunsets. The acommadation is good with a pleasant lounge, and a basic but satisfactory kitchen. The downstairs bedroom is a bit dark unless you open the door, and would benefit from a more comfortable mattress. Otherwise we loved it. The house is close to the main road between Madalena and Sao Roque, but a car is advisable as it is a long walk to the nearest shops and buses are infrequent"
