I came in about noon and they only offer soft drinks we have to wait at 6Pm to eat something - no transportation from airport and after checkout no transportation to the airport- in the bar few options of drinks- absolutely I do not recommend this hotel

For the price its not worth it at all, bars are very far from public areas, be ready to walk up and down the stairs, restaurants at tnight, very good food, breakfast and lunch buffet, very incomplete, not as good taste! Totally recomend the steak house and the seafood restaurant

The property has lots of potential but when you think all inclusive at the beach you expect more hands on service. The drinks are given in small cups and you have to go the bar, what ever happened to waiters at the pool or beach. So you are often running back and forth.The pool is often over populated. Food is offered constantly with a catch you also have to fetch it at various areas of the property. I guess if you have never been to an all inclusive with top notch service this like a great place. But I was sadly disappointed. There were some stand outs the service from the kids events coordinator Yulie she was awesome. At the buffet there was Señor Lucho serious the reasons why we enjoyed our stay.

The check in is at 3:00 pm if you go earlier you have to pay more to stay and receive the service, it is not fair because you paid ( it is not cheaper) and you have to pay more.

DON'T STAY at Decameron Galeon Santa Marta Colombi
This was the worst hotel experience I've had in years. Beyond disappointing especially for the price. We paid $350/night for a family of 3, all inclusive. Start to finish, bad. Although the pols were open until 8 pm, the towel cabana closed at 5 pm, so by the time we got out to the pool, we could not get towels. There were only 2 shower towels in our room with 4 beds, we had to request more. They gave us only 1 room key (old school actual key, not card key), and claimed they had no extra copies. There was no WI FI in the hotel, except in the lobby, so we could not even contact each other to find each other around the property. WI FI was expensive, and only good for one device at a time. The bar had a line out the door, and the drinks were watery and weak. The FOOD...so bad. It was buffet. All the fish had been sitting in the steamer tins for hours. There were no desserts left. I asked for red wine, and I got a teeny glass of wine from a box. I finally complained to the manager. Fortunately my Spanish is good enough to present my complaints. They finally got me an extra key by taking the cleaning lady's key! Even worse- all the other families were dealing with the same lack of keys, so when we were trying to rest in our room, families were sitting on the steps outside our paper-thin front door, waiting for their ONE key-holder to return and let them into their room. Honestly, I can't see how this hotel remains in business.

Overall it was very good. The food left a little to be desired, but still it was alright. After our stay we drove to Santa Marta. I think we probably stayed in the best hotel in town. The show at night was not as advertised. I did not enjoy it, but it seemed like everyone else did. I would recommend it.

Excellent resort in Santa Marta
We had a great time at this all-inclusive resort. The staff was very friendly and professional, the facilities were in excellent condition and clean and the food was great which is typical in colombia. If you are considering visiting Colombia, like being at the beach and want a have a great family fun vacation, this hotel is the place to go.

Good location. Rooms are outdated and it gives the appearance of being dirty. Furniture is banged up, scratched and a 1950's quilt was on the bed. The buffet was generally medium quality food but it consistently ran out of green salad. Variety of fruits and vegetables was good so it evened out. Freshly prepared juice of your choice was the "peace de resistance"

Hotel staff speaks no english, server slams into me and will not even turn around to apoliguse. takes 4 days for laundry to be cleaned. we are not allowed to drink alcohol in pool. and only 1 square pool at that.

Not worth your money...
This place is outdated, the quality of our room was nothing like the pictures on the website. The food was nothing to write home about, we ate it because we needed "substance", but it was not what I expected. Part of the beach was closed off with yellow tape, so this was not pleasant to look at. We were upgraded to a nicer room, the "cabana" as they called it. This was much better, so I would recommend asking for it ahead of time. However, I would recommend just going elsewhere. It is just not worth the money

Sad Week at Decameron
DeCameron charges for internet that is not reliable (no refunds). My first day on vacation the maid picked my luggage lock and stole personal belongings and cash, even thought I had DO NOT DISTURB sign placed on door knob. The food was mediocre. All meats served were over cooked and tough.

great honeymoon in decameron Galeon
We actually went to the decameron Galeon for our honeymoon and it was great! we were there about 4 days and everything was fantastic! from the food to the employees to the room everything was just amazing! and would recommend this to anyone!

This hotel provides great entertainment and has many facilities on premises, when they say all exclusive – they mean it! Food and beverage is available 24 hours absolutely free, however you will need to reserve a table for any of the restaurants at night – be quick otherwise you will be given an awkward time for your dinner. Although it has many good things, it does have its share of bad things as well. We had an apartment in one of their villas, the apartment was well out of date and the cleanness of the apartment was below standards. Internet is not available in the apartments (can only be used in the reception area and is costly) and laundry services are very expensive. The hotel says it’s a 4 star, but I think it’s more like a 3 star. Also one other thing – the staff are more than happy to help you, but they hardly speak a word of English. Don’t go expecting a red carpet treatment in this hotel, however you will enjoy a pleasant, safe and very warm hospitality.

Would go again!
Considering the low economic surroundings in the immediate area, I’d say the resort did what it was supposed to do under the circumstances. I read the reviews more negative than positive prior to booking the trip and figured I’m only going to be there for the weekend to visit some friends so I’d give it a try. Much to my delight the place was great. I was attracted to the all inclusive deal of drinking and eating for free while I was in Santa Marta and will say I was very satisfied. Only few issue that I had was the bed was really firm and that they have sales reps trying to sell you vacation packages to other Decameroon resorts while you’re trying to relax. I also didn’t like that they had one sales individual asking my girlfriend personal questions that did not pertain to anything regarding the sales pitch while I was away getting the drinks. Other than that I think the resort suited my purpose for the time I was there.

The rooms were cleaned so fast from one guest to another....dirty
The first room was near all construction being done. It had lots of nails in the walls with no pictures. They put us in another room 3 hours later. The day was wasted with sitting around unable to participate in any swimming or activities. The water was not treated in the rooms and it smelled real bad. When I got into my bed at night there was blood on the sheet. Very disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anyone, also, no one spoke any english there. It was hard to communicate.

Don't book, Don't Stay at Decameron! Very bad service, NEVER AGAIN!
If you are into rudeness, bad service, hotel employees who are short & not courteous, then Hotel Decameron chain is for you!!!!! With the exception of 1 employee at reception, everyone else can use an immersion course in customer service. Here's a list of things that are failing in Sta Marta. 1.water in shower, sink & toilet was brown 2.no A/C in bathroom. It was in the upper 90s 3.A/C in bedroom blew right smack into your head & chest 4.alcohol was watered down 5.elevator didn't latch on correctly, you needed to step up & out 6.pool closed down for the day at approx 530pm 7.at the infirmary, paramedic tried to pass off as a doctor & misdiagnosed a child, said she was severely dehydrated when she had only thrown up twice, said she needed to be rushed into town to see a private doctor b/c he knew we had good int'l health insurance coverage 8.hotel is only a few hundred feet from a railroad. Train passes by like a shaterring boulder at least 3 times a night & wakes you 9.tv in room was old, picture was hazed white, remote controls hardly worked 10.construx crew worked on floor above drilling & hammering from 10a-5p 11.construx crew hammered at the tv cable wire & took out cable in the middle of a world cup semi-final 12.actual pillows had visible mold & covered by pillow cases 13.room smelled moldy & musty, it was continuously humid in the room 14.excursion office messed up one of our trips & separated our group Cartagena hotel had less problems, but still not worth it

Good value, very nice hotel
The worst thing about the DeCameron Santa Marta is the location and beach view. It's 5 miles from town and the beach view is barges and derricks. However, the resort is first rate, the rooms, food, entertainment, and service are very good, and the price is attractive. I recommend it.

Muy mal servicio. No se lo recomiendo a nadie.
Muy mal servicio en general. Me cobraron un monto considerable por la estancia y a pesar de ello me cobraron por Wifi y la caja de seguridad de la habitación. Debo viajar con frecuencia y no recuerdo haber tenido que pagar aparte por Wifi desde hace varios años.

En resumen fue la peor experiencia en hoteles de relajacion por los siguientes puntos: * No se podia descanzar dado el escandalo de la gente tomada a los alrededores, hasta las 5:30 am * Las licuadoras empezaban a sonar a las 5:30 am, ademas se iba la luz en ese horario. * el olor a abombado de las habitaciones a pesar de estar limpias. * Muy conforme con el paquete de alimentacion. * Disconforme con la calidad de las bebidas alcoholicas en los diferentes bares, solo daban vasos desechables, de mal gusto para un hotel resort. * La atencion del front desk muy buena, felicitaciones a la Srta Angela por la atencion.

Fui de escapada romantica con mi esposa el check in tardo casi 2 horas, porque no encontraban mi reservacion, y deben comunicarse a cartagena donde esta la oficina principal para poder solucionar, afortunadamente me pude comunicar con hoteles.com y se pudo hacer el check in pero perdimos mucho tiempo, adicionalmente las cenas no son tipo bufet sino con reservacion y estas se llenan muy rapido, en otros decameron que me he hospedado con todo incluido, tiene la opcion de reserva para cenar en el restaurante de especialidad o puede recurrir a los bufets

Acoso del personal de multivacaciones Decameron
El hotel no era lo que esperaba, sin embargo el sitio es bonito, lo que es absolutamente inaceptable es que fuimos víctimas de acoso por parte del personal de multivacaciones, que hasta nos esperaban en las puertas de las villas para vendernos los paquetes de Decameron. Muy desagradable que esté uno en pareja y no pueda disfrutar del tiempo de descanso.
