Stunning sunsets, turtle watching, longtails wheeling and glow worms ....

Sunset Studio is located on the western edge of Sugar Cane Beach looking out across Mangrove Bay towards the west. It is 10 minutes from Dockyard and 15 minutes from the main beaches.

It is a single room studio unit with a loft space for sleeping, modelled on the tiny house concept. There is a full king sized bed in the loft area, together with small built in closets either side of the bed. The living area comprises a corner sofa unit that can convert to 2 single beds. The kitchenette is a very compact “galley” style kitchen that has a full stove, under counter fridge/freezer, toaster & electric kettle. Flat screen TV in lounge and loft area with fire tv and firestick, internet access, air-conditioning throughout. The bathroom has a large shower.

The unit has direct access to our beach and there are also stairs leading to the waters of Mangrove Bay on the northern boundary. The patio area overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Northern side of the unit. On the Southern side will be a sheltered garden with a bar-b-que area (once the landscaping is finished).

The exterior of the unit is designed to resemble the wooden cottages built in Somerset in the late 19th – early 20th Centuries, by West Indian workers who were brought to the Island to work at Dockyard. [For further information see Bermuda’s Architectural Heritage Series: Sandys by the Bermuda National Trust]

Please note the loft area will be accessed by a compact staircase and may not be suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

Stunning
Book it right now. The yard is unreal, 270 degree water views, your own beach basically, take the kayak out the little islands during low tide.. you can pull up on a deserted beach and walk in the ocean. Great host. Did fire pit every night. Can walk to woodys (so much fun) and the restaurants at Cambridge resort, we also walked to the market, to a local gym, wine store, didn’t even use the bus. I couldn’t complain about any minor thing if there were any, with a view like that.. spectacular

A beautiful place to stay!!!
This is one of the most beautiful places to stay on the island!! The views are gorgeous and the water lovely for swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Plus you will not get better care or attention from the owner, if needed. This is our second time here and we will be back! Thank you again, Christine!

Paradise
To open your french doors and see the beautiful turquoise waters is amazing. The 'Tiny Blue'house was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and it is situated on its own beach with chairs, kayak and paddle boards. Christine has a true treasure in this house. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful place.
The host communicates well and is very helpful with information to plan a great trip. Second time to Bermuda and this is our favorite part of the island. Relaxed, beautiful and safe. Every local we met was genuine, kind and very interesting making the trip a little bit more special. From this location you can get around easily by taxi, bus and ferry. The view from this property is beautiful. Highly recommend for a couple, having kids there would have been two tight in my opinion since only one bed in loft area (no pullout on first floor). For us, it was perfect.

Magical seaside studio
We spent 4 nights at Sunset Studio and loved every minute - we spent as much time there as possible, it has a view that you can't stop enjoying! Location is key - to see the stunning sea and watch the sunrise and sunset is just magical. Christine was quick to reply and helpful in all our communications, even when I had questions to ask before our trip. The studio itself is just right for the two of us - enough space, furniture, equipment etc. Outdoor furniture is plentiful and comfortable! Issue with sliding bathroom door reported to host. The porthole windows do just let in the light overnight though - including a streetlight. There were high winds when we were there, so didn't get to enjoy the sea or kayak (only one available) as much we wanted, but we still went into the sea (and found baby jellyfish - depends on the wind/time of year). Easy access to bus stops and a 15 min walk into Somerset Village (supermarket/pizza/chicken shop/pharmacy) or over the bridge to Woody's for a fish sandwich. Easy to get the ferry across to Watford Bridge from Hamilton -just a few mins walk away. Had a fabulous dinner at the Sunken Harbour (Cambridge Beaches) about 15 mins walk away.

Spectacular Location and Wonderful Host Made Sunset Studio “Our Home in Bermuda”
The location is ideal, directly on the water with breathtaking views and adjacent private beach, all at the edge of the charming village of Somerset. Christine is a lovely person, committed to ensuring your holiday goes well. The few issues we encountered were immediately addressed. The tiny house was tidy and had everything a couple would need to enjoy an extended stay. We were there for eight nights and felt it was still not sufficient time to take in everything Bermuda has to offer. We highly recommend purchasing a bus and ferry pass, as there are stops for both a short walk from the house. They are efficient and provide the ability to meet very friendly locals. When we return to Bermuda, this property is the only place we will stay. It really is that good.

Disappointing
This is the second time I stayed at the property, and I was hopeful things would be better when I got there. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Pros: beautiful views and great sunsets. Kayak available Owners are responsive and kind Fire pit Bus line close by Cons: Owner forgot I was coming (didn’t have soap in the house, and dropped it off the next day) Bugs: roaches and ants in house Kayak full of sand and unusable (for the second time. Owner did empty it, but it happened both stays) Stairs are just plain scary No place to wash sand off feet outside Street noise No binder of basic information Wi-Fi is not reliable (85 mega bytes per second so lots of dropped calls) Strangers would come on the property which was unnerving Needs work: Put a binder of info together (including Wi-Fi password, how to store the kayak, get bus tickets). Get some storage for the kayak so it doesn’t get filled with sand or float off Maybe have some wood for the fire pit available Check out the Wi-Fi and see if it can be fixed

December 2023 at Sunset Cottage
Upon arriving we noticed a lovely moon gate entrance, then going forward we see siding missing from the cottage, a kayak on the beach largely filled with sand and no raft as shown in the pics. Bermuda often has strong island winds, particularly at the seashore and plenty of rain. Weather is not the owner's fault. We settled inside and found the space akin to a tiny home. We knew it looked small in advance, but we did not know that the internet connection would be so weak, that the only toilet was going to overflow, and the kitchen infested with ants. After a few days and long before our stay ended, we booked elsewhere and left. I wish I had asked for a refund. The site is close to bus and ferry connections. The surrounding seashore is fantastic when the weather cooperates, and you can fish right from the property and nearby.
