I was pleasantly surprised to see that Hotel Europa has been totally renovated in a chic modern decor since my stay 4 years ago. Even though it was the same off season late March dates, the Hotel Europa Design Spa 1877 was now energized with lots of people in the hotel lobby, bar and dining room. The staff was friendly and attentive and the it still has the great location across from the sea and landmark castle. It is an excellent base location for visiting both Portifino to the north and Cinque Terre to the south. Great little restaurant Elite across the street was also worth a return visit.
I stayed here for 2 nights on 29th September with my friend.
We had no difficulty finding the hotel just a 5min walk from the station, the hotel location was excellent being right on the sea-front.
The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful on our arrival, we paid extra for a sea view and it was well worth it the views were outstanding, breakfast was very nice with a good selection.
They were plenty of restaurant's near by.
If I was to say anything negative about this hotel I would say that the hotel is a little dated and could do with some renovation, apart from that I really enjoyed my stay there, and would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is a very solid choice that will not disappoint. We had a wonderful water view room on the second floor. The room was very quiet, clean and modern. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was very nice. Nothing completely wowed me, but everything easily met our expectations. I would stay here again without question. The hotel is an easy and enjoyable 10 minute walk to the train station where we explored the cinque terra and surrounding area. The boat to Portofino docks directly in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helped with all our questions, and we left our luggage all day after we checked out. We absolutely loved Rapallo and will definitely be back to the Miramare. Thanks for offering such a wonderful traditional hotel experience.

"Excellent base for exploring the Italian Riviera"
This was our first holiday with a 4 month old baby and the staff at the hotel couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. A really great hotel in the best location with great sea views (even from the room that is advertised as partial sea view). I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to the Italian riviera as the perfect base to explore this amazing part of Italy.

"A good place to stay whilst exploring Rapallo and the surrounding area."
A very nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable with very friendly, helpful staff. No balcony views, but very central for shops and markets, cafes, bars, restaurants and the sea front. Close to train and bus station and also for boat trips. This was our second stay.
"Really nice hotel, close to the port & the beach"
It was not our first time in the area but first time in this hotel: staff is really kind and helpful. I tried the " laundry" service and clothes came just perfect, they even made my white tee shirts, whiter. The beds are good quality and the room was extremely well cleaned: the lady came around 3 times a day to check and change towels. The situation is great if you have a boat or if you rent one in the harbor as it is just one minute walking to the beach and the view is really nice. When it comes to the beauty center, I can only advise it: the lady is nice, soft and makes a great job: really professional. Breakfast is just perfect with food for all taste.
