We enjoyed our stay over Easter Weekend. Convenient to family who lives near by. One very small complaint though. The 1/2 &1/2 creamer was spoiled for our coffee. They need to keep it on ice. Had to throw out 3 cups of coffee because of spoilage.

Awesome and walkable neighborhood. The street is very quiet at night. Parking can be tricky but be patient, look in the neighborhoods close by, and be willing to walk a bit and it’s not a big deal.

The polite and helpful service. The room was clean and so was the bath. There was a smell of smoke from the restaurant next door but wasn’t bad for us. Very little noise from the street or the other guests. Awesome stay.

This property is a 10 minute walk from the hospital, UCSF. Lots of restaurants, a Whole Foods, a Walgreens. A huge beautiful park across the street. The staff was very helpful in relocating my room. The first room was very noisy due to construction. I was there to recover from surgery and they were very compassionate.

This was a really comfortable and safe small classic hotel with a very nice, helpful staff (especially Michelle!). It's good to have the breakfast options and afternoon snack options, too. The location is awesome for walking along the park, Whole Foods is a block away and even the fellow guests were friendly.

We stayed at a family suite; the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was decent. However, our suite faced Waller Street, not the park, and there was a big construction site on Waller Street. I was disappointed; I booked Stanyan Park because it was right across the street from Golden Gate Park, but I could see was the construction site. The building is old, so we could hear steps upstairs and the talking next door. The toilet could not fill the water tank by itself, so we had to prepare a bucket of water to fill the tank.

Thanks Shaowen for the feedback. Our hotel is dated over 120 years in service as a turn of the 1900's but rooms are clean and secure. Yes unfortunately, a new apartment complex is being built a block over from the hotel but the main frame is completed. This hotel was such a charm, much better than I expected it to be!! The inside deco is very nice, old timey with historic photos all across the halls which was very interesting to look at. The bed was amazing, and the room was very quaint and small, but comfortable. We could not figure out how to work the heater so the room was very hot all day/night, but we understand that it is an older establishment and it was our fault for not being able to work it haha!! The staff was amazing and so so helpful, there was much care and thought behind their responses over the phone and at the desk. Also, the location is ideal considering it is right next to Haight!! Made for a great Valentines Day vacation with my fiancée and will definitely come back :)

It's directly across from Golden Gate Park. So nicely decorated. Vintage building redone beautifully. Wine and cheese at 5:00 pm. Breakfast is advertised as continental but is very filling and plenty extensive.

The hotel is in a good location across from the Golden Gate Park. Unfortunately, it is also on a busy street and the room was very noisy from traffic outside. The internet was also poor, although when I complained about it, they said it was the weather.

Hi Marc: Our Apologies of the lack of internet services. Our hotel has two higher broadband commercial connections to supply guests and services but with bad weather it was very inconvenient and intermittent. Our hotel has pushed for a more consistent fiber connection and hope to see that become a source in the next few weeks. Hence only power outages thereafter will prevent internet connection to go out. Our hotel approaching 135 years has its challenges, but noise typically is not an issue, typically a quieter neighborhood area. So, I am very sorry if traffic was frustrating during your visit. However, contact us anytime if you return as happy to insure not only a better internet experience but maybe a hotel away from street side will give you the rest and reinsurance needed to make you visit a better situation. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with Victorian vibes this is your spot! Each room is unique- impeccably clean. The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to make the visit successful. From water bottles at the front desk to lending umbrellas to the breakfast and wine hour which are complimentary. The location is perfect if you’re visiting near Cole Valley- directly across from Golden Gate Park. Negatives- it’s on a busy street with a new building going up next door and the wifi could be much better.

This hotel was great. I got the family suite so my friends and I had a living room to hang out. Free wine at checkin, and little goody bags were in my room. It had all the amenities for a comfortable stay and then some. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property. Would stay again.
We stayed for one night and wish we’d booked for longer. We stayed in the suite with our two children and the space was huge and great to spread out after 1 month abroad together. A couple of negatives- the staff were not overly friendly or helpful. We checked in on time and then headed into town. The reception staff did not inform us of the afternoon tea and drinks which are complimentary each afternoon. We’d have loved to make the most of that with the price we paid for the night. Also- there is a high construction site next door. They start work at 6am and it is SO loud. They’re was no compensation or price decrease for this. There should have been. We also noticed all the single use plastic at breakfast which was really disappointing to see. Besides that, we would stay here again- as long as construction has finished, and very much enjoyed our stay.

Great location
Enjoyed complimentary wine hour. Amazing location! Vintage hotel and was clean room (minus the carpet). Breakfast was basic but they did offer vegetarian sausage that I appreciated. Room was pretty warm- we had to open the window for fresh air. Overall very good for price and location. Would stay again
