The wallpaper on the walls in the hallway were old and worn, the carpet was dirty, the room smelled musty, the furniture was from the 70’s 80’s. Sat on the beds and they rocked like the legs were going to fall off. Everytime someone flushed their toilet the whole floor heard it. Not sure why this property has a 7.8? Just our experience.
This is our second time staying at cow hollow. We love the location and how easy it is to walk around. We feel very safe walking around this area of SF.
Good hotel with a good location right next to the shopping/restaurant district of Chestnut Street. Prices very wildly from $90 a night to $260 a night. Well worth $90 a night but not worth $260 a night. They have free parking, which is very nice to offer.

Hotel had to upgrade our room to accommodate a roll away and charged me almost 1/2 of what I already paid. They could no not put a rollaway into our current room. Not happy!
I have stayed here often on for 10 years and I’ve never had a bad experience however, this last time was completely different. Hotel appears under new management. Scattered and not very helpful. Homeless person being housed down the hall. Smoking in other rooms. Overall, the worst experience I’ve ever had here.
We stayed at Cow Hollow for 5 nights to attend an event at The Palace of Fine Arts. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was very clean but a bit dated. Many dining choices within walking distance.
I know its not the property's fault but our room was on the main street right by a traffic light and was hard to sleep with all the noisy cars and people outside all night.
The hotel needs more rooms with double queen beds instead of full beds. Not comfortable for two people to share a full bed.
I have been staying here for the past 20 years for the location and parking. The neighborhood is great and filled with shops and restaurants. The rooms are dated but they started renovations. Absolutely, my first choice when I travel to San Francisco.
The location is great. We love the cleanliness and the free parking. Also wonderful staff at the check in counter. Very helpful, efficient and friendly.
We always love staying at this hotel. It's in the area we want to be. Free parking, no resort fees which are ridiculous in san Francisco. The hotel itself is older, nothing fancy, no amenities per say. It's clean, and convenient. The staff is friendly and secure parking.
Depends on which room you get because sometimes it’s very loud with the traffic early in the morning because they’re on such a main thoroughfare but other than that it’s a nice place to stay and the staff is always very attentive.
The hotel is near shopping and places to eat. The hotel is on a couple of busy streets. We could hear everything going on outside (e.g., people walking, cars, etc.) so so noisy, it was hard to sleep.
For the price you can’t beat it furniture a little
Outdated but it was clean inside free parking unheard of there but they have it will be staying there everytime now
Location was great! A bit out dated room. Very flimsy pillows, window sills were damaged and single pane windows you can hear everything. The staff were courteous and polite. I felt safe to leave my car in their parking lot.
My room was clean and comfortable. The view was of a roof top but if I craned my neck I could see the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Usually we love it here. I requested a top floor room as I am sensitive to noise. The clerk said they were renovating the 3rd floor (top) so no rooms were available. I actually went to the top floor after getting my key to the 2nd floor and they had 3 rooms open and available. I asked the cleaning service and they confirmed for me that they were open. On the 2nd night they put in a very noisy foot stomping couple above us. So sleep was impossible. The drawers in the room were broken and the window (which was facing Lombard Street) had no weather stripping on it so we heard every single car drive by and some interesting conversations of people below us. To say this was a pleasant stay would be a lie. (Like what the desk clerk does) The rest of the staff were pretty friendly and accommodating. This review does not reflect them. Just those mentioned.
