"Beautiful House."
This house is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Garden Room, and it was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful. They give you no special treatment like some nice B&Bs, so I give it 4 stars for beauty and cleanliness. Pros: -BEAUTIFUL -Comfortable bed -Clean -Free parking in the parking garage across the street -Key card to get in at any time -Ask for the history of the house -Close to Balboa Park Cons: -Shower took a few minutes to warm up (but it did get hot). -Walls a little thin. I could hear conversations in the foyer (although I couldn't understand them clearly) -The piano was out-of-tune. It's just a decoration I guess. (++It's signed by a Steinway) -No free parking for loading/unloading. -Breakfast was disappointing---cheap continental breakfast. Nothing special. -No chocolates, no cheese hour, no fancy shampoo (big bottles of shampoo/conditioner)

"Close but quiet."
We loved this small hotel. The staff is friendly, the room we great. You can walk across the street to the beach. It's close enough to walk to all the main restaurants and shopping but far enough south to be a little more quiet and quaint. Ther parking charge is lower than most and room amenities were good. I plan to go back.

"Very lovely and relaxing"
We attended a wedding and stayed two nights. We really enjoyed it - a true getaway - especially because there is really nothing to do in the little village. Food was delicious.

We had a great time at Hotel Del. Be prepared to spend a lot of money but it is worth it.

"Great hotel"
We've stayed in many hotels...and the customer service here was simply the best ever..... even as we drove off the valet ran after us to give us cold water bottles...so from the moment we checked in until we were out of sight.. the staff was doing something to make our stay...one to be envied by royalty.

"Not quite a 4.5 or 5 Star Hotel. Limited"
They have a late check in at 4:00 pm and our room still wasn't ready on time. Missing items in room; no iron, some toiletries were not in boxes and telephone didn't work. Makes you wonder who's running the housekeeping check list in what is toted as a 4.5 to 5.0 star hotel; 4 at best! Grand in its old charm, would recommend that if your rooms are going to cost over $300 per night, then everything should be ship shape with the staff at its best! I would stay again, but know I would change a few things.

Great hotel if you get the right room. The surf pads look right over the ocean and Boardwalk. If you are into people watching its perfect. It's a bit noisy because of all the action going on right beneath you but we loved it. Not much on amenities such as a pool or spa but it didn't bother us. Super close to excellent restaurants and bars... We stayed at the Coronado bay resort after here and it was a totally different feel. Large resort, big pools, etc but it was land locked and you felt like you couldn't leave. Tower 23 was the best!!!

"Outstanding suite worth every penny!"
1.) phenomenal location in downtown SD. Adjacent to everything! Tons of bars, restaurants, etc within close proximity from the moment you step outside. However, I think if we were on a lower floor, we might have been disturbed by the sounds of the San Diego nightlife. We were high enough that we didn't. 2.) Stayed in the imperial jacuzzi suite and were totally wowed by it. Usually hotel photos play up the space and appearance of how a room looks. But this time the opposite was true. We were very pleased with how gorgeous penthouse-G was decorated and the amount of space we had. 3.) staff was really nice and even let us check in super early--at 9am!!! 4.) such an adorable and chic/trendy boutique hotel without the gross "side effects" you usually get with boutique hotels (ie hot water that chooses when it wants to work, cockroaches, etc) 5.) the only downsides were the lack of parking (beware the $40 valet charge!) but that was my bad for not foreseeing that coming. I mean, it's downtown sd...of course there's no parking structures or garages for each and every business. The only self Parking was like 4 blocks away for $15. At least the $40 valet had unltd in and out privileges. Then only other slight downside was the dust in our suite. Overall it was very clean but the sheer amount of decor and furnishing would make it impossible to maintain perfectly dustless. With 2 story vaulted ceilings, pretty much everything over the height of 6 ft was covered in dust.

"Very nice hotel, very quiet. "
Staff was amazing, each treated us like they would want to be treated, room was very clean, our king size was not available, and the front desk clerk took care of it immediately, and comped us free drinks. Did not have to ask for something in lieu of our inconvenience.
