Excellent location and good clean pool. But the room has outdated furniture, a tiny TV, no normal clothes hangers (maybe 3 or 4, the ones they give you for free from Dry cleaners), a small refrigerator without a freezer with a temperature higher than 42, and no coffee maker or microwave. Very uncomfortable setup. The room is a good size for all of it.

Clean and Friendly
This is the second time staying at La Avenida Inn. It is a clean friendly no frills motel perfectly located on Coronado Island. I am a marathon swimmer who also kayaks for other swimmers when swimming around the island. If I were coming on vacation I might spend a little more for a hotel with a few more amenities but La Avenida suits my purposes fine. Most importantly the beds are comfy and the staff is very friendly. Also, all the fun stuff on the island is within walking distance.

We have stayed at La Avenida several times over the years. It is conveniently located and reasonably priced for Coronado. We were sad to hear that the property has been sold and will close PERMANENTLY at the end of August.

The location was excellent. It was in walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We had three kids with us and were placed on the second floor with no elevator. We are strong and managed but when the key had to be reprogrammed EVERY day it became frustrating. The front desk employee stated it was policy that the key had to be reprogrammed daily. Another nuisance was the fact that in order to get our car on property we had to pull over a busy sidewalk and move a couple of parking cones out of the way. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked but the room was run down. Bath tub wouldn’t plug up to hold water. Toilet ran constantly. We stayed four nights and housekeeping NEVER entered our room to empty trash, refresh towels or restock toilet paper. The pool was clean.

My only not complaint but I guess it is a complaint is that there were not very many outlets in the room. My friend had her phone her. Watch her CPAP machine and I had a phone to charge and there weren't very many outlets in the room. I know that's not ever going to be able to be changed but that was our only concern.

High hopes, but dissappointed
I had high hopes for this place because it looks so cute on the outside but for the $300+ price I paid for a single king room, it was terrible. The walls had been patched with paint that just a bit off from the main wall color. There was no headboard so bed was just pushed up to the wall. The sheets felt thin and old. The furniture looked like it had been picked up from a thrift shop--the wood was aged, warped and or scratched, and the upholstery on the only chair was worn and dirty. I will say that the floors and bathroom looked clean which I would say is the only positive -- plus it's location. Do not recommend.

The property is in a good area on the strip pool was nice. Don’t stay in 111 or 211 the room is right next to post office and they make real loud noise from 1 am to 7am non stop every night.

We had a late check in and everything went smooth. The rooms need updating, no coffee pots and stains on the walls. The website says they provide towels for the beach but they don’t. They say they will have coffee in the lobby at 7:00am, but sometimes it was 8:30 before they got it out. The pool was great and location is perfect.

The room was noisy and very hard to sleep with all the sound from exterior noises. The bed was very uncomfortable. The room was cleaned but in very poor condition and poor upkeep with brown baseboards in the bathroom. Toilet didn't flush right. The price was exorbitant for the condition of the room and lack of sleep. We would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.

Staff was nice and friendly, but more could be done to improve the rooms like air conditioning that works Our room had an older one but others had been replaced, so even though it was very cool outside the room was not so we didn’t get good sleep, the air conditioner would come on and off all night

I liked the convenient parking and the simple clean rooms. The staff was helpful to me and courteous. I love how close it was to the beach and to all of the shops. The only downside is the noise level due to thin walls of the building. We were on the bottom floor and could hear everything from our neighbors upstairs. The room did not have curtains to keep the outdoor light out at night and this made it difficult to get a good night’s rest.

Do not make the mistake of staying at this hotel. The only good thing about it is the location… I feel terribly sorry for anyone who has an interaction with the Owner/Manager Moises. You will walk away speechless at his lack of people skills. A complete lunatic.
