Lovely views, very clean
We very much enjoyed our time here! The view was gorgeous, more than enough room for all of us, and the place was very clean. The hot tub was ready for use and was a nice way to relax after a day of skiing. Got to see lots of deer walking around. Great place!

The cabin was amazing and the view spectacular. We got 7-12 inches of fresh snow the day we got there so the skiing was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you for the memories with my kids and grandkids. 😃

Amazing cabin up in the moutains with a view of a valley full of nature.
Amazing location up in the mountains. We have stayed here 3 other times and its always great. Fire place was not working, we were looking forward to it. The hot-tub was great but needs new speakers.

Family of 6 weekend trip
The place was perfect! Clean, furnished so nicely, peaceful, with breathtaking views! The bedding smelled so fresh and clean. Our youngest is 5 and oldest is 11…it was such a perfect fit for all of the kids & us parents, as well. Will definitely look this home up again, when returning to the area.❤️

Ruidoso family getaway
So many great things to say about this property. Very clean, well stocked kitchen, amazing views. Overall a wonderful place to get away. Twice while cooking in the kitchen saw deer and elk in the front yard. Would definitely rent again.

Secluded feeling log cabin with amazing view, 5 minutes from town
We have stayed here before, about 5 years ago and it is still our favorite cabin that we have stayed in! There’s a mountaintop view with Ruidoso way down there, so quiet and beautiful. According to our phones, this cabin was at about 7400ft elevation. The physical address is a little bit different than gps, but if you follow the instructions given by the owner, we had no problem, though I would recommend checking in while there is still daylight. We saw elk and deer in the neighborhood and by the cabin. There have been some beautiful updates not yet reflected in the vrbo photos, there is a nice white/light granite countertop throughout the kitchen and island which is also in the bathrooms as well. There is a large flatscreen tv in the living room with satellite tv as well as a firestick type device for streaming. Upstairs is a loft area with a daybed, twin trundlebed, and couch, as well as a tv with a firestick type device for streaming. The bedrooms with a king and queen bed each had a tv, the bunkbed room does not. I have Verizon, relatives had AT&T, google fi and t-mobile and all had great cell signal, though wifi is available. The high temperature got up to 90 degrees while we were there, there is a large a/c unit in the living room and each bedroom had its own window unit and it was a non issue. Farley’s restaurant, gas station, and movie theater are less than 10 minutes away. Albertson’s is about 10 minutes, Ruidoso Downs 20min. We hope to stay here again soon!

My family and I had a great and relaxing stay at this cabin. It has gorgeous views, and it is in an extremely quiet area which was awesome. We loved the serenity of it. There was only 1 thing that we almost needed to contact the owners over. The fireplace was sometimes pretty difficult to get lit. My husband had to keep working at it for quite awhile before finally getting it to light. This happened a few times. This was overall a very comfortable and spacious cabin that was a wonderful choice to stay at!

Beautiful and comfortable property. House was very clean and orderly. Nice assortment of kitchen appliances, utensils, condiments, etc. We enjoyed the hot tub and grill almost every day. We loved this cabin. The view was amazing. The cabin had plenty of space for our family and our friends’ family. We had deer walk right up to the patio. Secluded yet an easy drive to the shops. I would definitely stay here again.

Another great stay at Squaw Peak Retreat!
This was our second time to stay at this lovely cabin and once again, everything was perfect. The views are absolutely stunning, the cabin is spacious, comfortable and clean, and the location is fantastic. What a great way to escape the Texas heat. We can’t wait to return!

Great family vacation stay
Beautiful views off the back deck, and with the hot tub, very relaxing 😌 and wildlife was excitung to see. The house is beautiful also, plenty of room and well stocked. You do have to drive into town but definitely not a problem. Will certainly stay here again just loved it!

As close to Heaven as it gets!
When my family of 9 first got out of our cars upon arriving at the cabin, it was nothing but huge smiles and exclamations of utter amazement of the beautiful cabin and breathtaking view! Our stay surpassed all expectations as we experienced the serenity, the beauty, the wildlife, the cooler weather, hiking, family time, and can't forget to mention the hot tub! My 11 year old grandson, Lucas, and I enjoyed watching the sunrise while sipping iced coffee on the deck overlooking the mountains. That was epic, as NOT MUCH gets Lucas up early on summer mornings! He said when he has kids some day, he wants to bring them to Ruidoso! We all were sad to have to leave. We enjoyed activities offered " in town", but if we had had a day or two longer, we would not have minded at all spending every bit of them right there at the cabin. My family now has the same love for Ruidoso and the mountains that stole my heart as a visitor every summer since I was 8. We are so very thankful to the Dayons for the opportunity to rent their beautiful cabin and for the memories made there that will never be forgotten. Not only do we all want to go back, there are serious thoughts of moving to Ruidoso and getting a cabin of our own!

Deer every evening beautiful scenery beautiful inside and out .Thanks so much love the home/cabin so much.Would rent again but maybe a two bedroom just like this one. PS Sorry got checked out at 11:12 AM Got to town my daughter wanted to stop and get a cap for her husband that had to work and we walked in to the first store and seen the clothes on the racks and said crap i forgot are hanging clothes so i had to run back and get them so sorry.

Lunar Perfection
The shared spaces were comfortable and made kitchen work enjoyable. Although we were only two, we enjoyed being in the open floor plan. The nighttime view off the deck enabled us to experience the most awesome lunar eclipse, from the slow rise of a full moon, through the 83-minute eclipse as the earth crossed between the sun and moon. We will never be able to recreate that magical evening.

We had our yearly girls weekend trip here this year and the whole property did not disappoint!! We enjoyed coffee and beautiful view every morning on deck and ended the days in the hot tub under the sun! Everything was clean, well stocked, and exactly how it is described and shown!! The hosts responded immediately when we had questions and gave perfect instructions for the weekend! Highly recommend to all groups looking for a fantastic weekend!

What a wonderful retreat! We needed some down time after many days of touring and this was just perfect! So clean, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and what a view. Owner/manager was quick to reply. Hot tub and fireplace were bonuses! Plus deer were daily visitors. We would definitely recommend this property!

We were very pleased with this property. The view from the back deck is amazing and the hot tub is a perfect way to relax after a long day of hiking. The cabin is situated far enough away from Ruidoso to feel secluded but you can drive to midtown in a few minutes. The large kitchen was well equipped with plenty of counter space. The cabin had daily visits by mule deer, hummingbirds, a grey fox, and many other types of birds. I highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed here for a few days, the cabin was exactly as described! There is National Forest land at the end of the road with trails and beautiful views. Mule Deer and Elk in the backyard. I highly recommend anyone with a family to check this place out, its a hidden gem and budget friendly!

Went for a work retreat. We had a wonderful time. The place was fabulous. Very spacious, clean, and close to town. I had my wedding rings come off & did not find them. I texted them to ask if they came across them while cleaning if they would please let me know. She made a second trip to look for them & found them. Wonderful honest people!!!
