Energetic neighborhood - yet the rooftop patio (bar and small plates restaurant) takes you away from the bustle and noise. Rooms are European small but who’s spending time there when there is so much to see in Roma??

The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms very clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. Located in a great neighbourhood with lots of food options and close to many tourist attractions.

Excellent hotel great staff. Close to lots of attractions. The best bakery & pizza opposite although long queues. Got to time it right. Great roof top terrace with restaurant. Second Terrace to sunbathe. Around the corner from Campo di Fiori

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Smeraldo. It is in a quiet part of Rome but still central to all sights. Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps are all within 10 minute walk from the hotel. Air conditioning worked well but did not go below 22 degrees Celsius. Leonardo at the front desk was gracious and helpful during our stay. He provided us with a fan for our room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely stay here again!

The staff at this hotel were exceptional. I felt very valued as a customer. My only dislike of this hotel was the room size. It was incredibly small. The room was basically just big enough for the bed and there was very little room around the bed to manage luggage or even dress. The bathroom was also very small. I am 6 foot tall and husky and almost did not fit into the shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the dedication to customer service, however if you do not want to stay in a box, i would unfortunately recommend staying elsewhere.

We were disappointed with the view in our superior with balcony and the room was small, however it was clean and functional. Really from this area there is no good view. Nice bathroom and shower. After staying in this room the length of our reservation, we switched rooms to a standard room for a tour we are joining and didn’t think the rooms could get much smaller but they can! No place to put two carryon size suitcases. Shower not as nice. Window opens to a wall. Good location for accessing sites. I’d get the superior if I was booking again

We stayed at the Hotel Smeraldo for one night after our cruise and wish we had more time to spend at this hotel! We arrived around 9:30am and our room was ready for us the check in! While checking in the front desk gave us a fantastic overview of the area and a great one day itinerary of sights to see! All within walking distance of the hotel. This hotel is in a fantastic location. After a great day of exploring Rome, we slept very comfortably in our hotel room and woke up and enjoyed the delicious breakfast offered by the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!

This property was perfect for our 2 night stay in Rome. It is centrally located to all of the tourist sites and we were able to walk everywhere. The beds were comfortable, and they offer a wonderful breakfast in the morning.

Very nice location. Friendly staff. Little noise due to much activities on roof top and the bar across the hotel. Its vary delightful if you're not tryingvto catch-up with sleeping to get rid of jet lag .

We had a great experience Hotel Smeraldo during our stay in April 2024. We were 2 people and stayed 2 nights. Location is perfect. Walkable to many Rome sights and good restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had good a variety of tasty options. Bakery with pizza and panini just across the street. Very close to a main bus stop. Room was small but tidy and clean. Would stay here again and recommend to others!

The facilities were updated and clean. Great location, breakfast options plentiful and staff were very helpful. We had an early Vatican tour and couldn’t make the breakfast serving time. Per our request, they graciously packed a “to go” breakfast for us! Would highly recommend Hotel Smeraldo!

The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of room with easy walking access to the key sites. The breakfasts were ample for us and the staff courteous and welcoming. A thoroughly enjoyable week.

The staff was amazing and helpful with everything we needed. Walking was doable but I wouldn’t call it EASY to the main “attractions” like the Vatican or the coliseum. But I would stay there again.

This hotel is ideally placed in the centre of Rome. It is on a quiet, nearly traffic free, cobbled street, within walking distance (2 km - 1.25 miles) of all the important sights. It feels very safe and there are plenty of places nearby offering great food. The hotel is close to bus routes and there is taxi access right to the front door if required. There would be no access by private car and there is no parking in the vicinity. The hotel is well maintained and is spotlessly clean. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a great continental buffet breakfast each morning from 0700-1000. Our room was in the annex building, about 15 to 20 steps away from the main hotel with a separate secure door. Being an old building, the rooms are slightly smaller than average and are not the usual corporate rectangular box shape - they have lovely character. Although not large, they have plenty of storage, comfortable beds and great showers. They appear to have been recently renovated and are spotless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and it would be my first choice for accomodation on a return visit to Rome.
