This is an older hotel, like most in Rome. The rooms are a good size, and the views are great because the hotel is at the top of the hill. The pool is nice, but the weather was too cold for us to use it. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, and the location was great for shopping and dining. Again, the hotel is at the top of a steep hill, so if you have mobility issues, it could cause an issue. I would stay there again.

It was first trip to Rome and it was nice to be just a few miles away from the city center. The views were spectacular because the Hotel was up in the hills overlooking the city. The front counter staff (Ianna) not sure how to spell her name was simply a joy, always smiling and gracious.

Decent for one night
The pool is nice and the included breakfast is good. fine for one night. The walls are very thin so I could hear the guy next door snoring and any other little thing. the AC was also whining and beeping all night.

Good pool, dated hotel.
Pool and bar and pool staff where amazing. However Hotel itself and rooms are very old and dates. We had a few problems with the room that wasn’t really solved over 4 days.

Could be much better…
The hotel located on a hill near park, quiet neighborhood right next to Michelin star restaurant and has nice grounds and pool around but this is the only positive points. The link for public transport is totally inconvenient, it takes at least half hour ride to the attractions, and the bus comes in half hour, it walkable down but back you may need a taxi. The classic room is disappointing, it’s small and dark and the bed is stuck between walls that feel like a dungeon. No upgrade or benefits provided as Expedia Gold VIP member. The worst part is paper thin walls, I’m not a picky person BUT I woke up in the middle of the night because of a couple that was F****g the next door, I could hear everything like it was happening in my bed as well as the conversation they had afterwards…mind it was 3 am Saturday night… The breakfast is very basic, not many choices and terrible coffee, the worst I had in Italy. Yes, this hotel has attractive price, but I wouldn’t stay there again.

The staff and service was excellent. Property is fairly close to the Vatican and Trastevere, but beware of the uphill climbs getting back to the hotel after long days of walking all over the city!

Qiet, safe, beautiful location.
Quiet gated garden location w pool on high hill with St. Peter's Dome view from restaurant. Need a taxi for most locations....15 min. down hill might be walkable, but uphill we needed taxi. 7- 15Euros to most locations, 25Euros to main train in traffic 30 min. 50Euros airport. but room cheap by comparisons. Near park/garden for views, walks and running. Loved pool bar even off season. NO ENGLISH TV.

complained about loudspeaker noise coming from an event at the hotel that could be heard in the hallways as well as our room but the concierge seemed more sympathetic to the event than us! lobby toilets were not serviced

The first room we were shown was not "superior" as paid for, tiny, dingy, depressing. The staff were extremely unfriendly and said they were sold out but when I complained loudly, they found a better room right away. The airconditioning didn't work for 2/4 nights -- when we complained we were met with denial, but finally a repair person was brought in. Once fixed airconditioning could only be regulated at the front desk which is very awkward. It is an antiquated system. We slept extremely badly and this made it difficult to work. The breakfast room is dark and depressing and the food is mediocre. The only redeeming feature is the pool which was very welcome as it was quite warm. The hours are limited however and when one is on a work trip that means one can't access the pool before or after work, a big disappointment. This place needs an overhaul. The pool and location are terrific, but the rest of the hotel could use major rennovation and new staff .

Perfect Rome Hotel
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very comfortable and relaxing home away from home. Trastevere is nearby, and can walk to the Vatican down hill no problems. Great park and views nearby. The pool is a great feature and breakfast was fine. Friendly staff.

GHG is a wonderful hotel with a lovely staff who are excited share all of Rome. The property has old time charm with the best treat of all - a swimming pool with a lifeguard, bar service and small outdoor restaurant!

This is one of my favorite hotels. And to be honest it’s hard to say exactly why. There’s a special charm. Everything was so easy. Absolutely fantastic location. The staff is the best. So funny, so helpful. The food and wine at the restaurant and in room is great. And the pool is wonderful. I would highly highly recommend!

Loved the cleanliness, staff friendliness and willingness to help. Food and service 2nd to none. Shops and bar a short walk away. Fabulous views over Rome and steps down to a fabulous area with good and plentiful restaurants. Good bus service into the heart of Rome or Vatican City. The only downside was the road noise which was busy.

Nice hotel in Rome with an amazing pool. We visited during Covid restrictions so it felt as though the property was empty. They did a good job in spite of the challenges. The walk up/down hill/steps to get to points of interest would be difficult for anyone with mobility challenges. We enjoyed the complimentary prosecco :)

We particularly liked the breakfast. Great variety of delicious food, eggs, ham, cheeses, coffees, fruits, cereals, breads and pastries. Also the service was awsome! Adriana and Domenico were so pleasant and attentive! They made us feel so welcome! We look forward to our next stay there.
