We wanted a great beach and Riu Playacar checks that box. Food was ok, rooms need some work. Bed was not terribly comfortable and the rooms are very cold/hard, no comfortable seating. Bathroom was completely unprivate and not easy to use. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for value, Riu delivers that, and it’s on a beautiful stretch of beach.

We had a wonderful time at the Riu Playacar resort. Staff was wonderful and friendly, the food and drinks were delicious having multiple options. I would highly recommend this resort. It was clean, well-maintained, with a great atmosphere and beautiful beach. Loved my stay at Riu Playacar and will definitely be back in the future!

The hotel was great for the most part. The A La Carte resteraunts were more like buffets and the food wasn't very good but the buffet was above average so we always found something good to eat. I love that the buffet has some sort of roast and gravy at breakfast everyday . They did the same at the Riu in Los Cabos which i also loved the buffet.

It was a very nice resort. Staff friendly and helpful; very clean. My room key deactivated a couple times which was annoying. The entertainment could have been better and the food options were good and some ok.

Food was terrible. Virtually every restaurant was cafeteria food like. Entertainment was uninspiring. Pools were small and not a lot of space. Rooms were meh. Beach is pretty. The white clothes party and head phone dance party was fun. We had more fun at nearby Riu Tequila.
