A very bad experience
I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights with views to the ocean for a very special occasion. My bathroom, the toilet had been used and was not flushed with the seat up. The tub was either dirty or stained with what looked like nail polish and the paint was chipped on the actual tub. The soap holder part the paint was gone. The tiles on the wall were chocolate brown. I had to request several times for someone to come and clean the bathroom and bring a hair dryer, there was none. My son's room was worse. He had to call, the ceiling was leaking (11th floor possibly the a/c), the door to the room didn't lock and the shower head was leaking water on the side. What a terrible experience, not even an apology. I also received an email charging me for things that we didn't consume, after the bill was finalized and paid. What a horrible experience.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in
It's frankly mind boggling that this hotel is rated 4 stars. It completely discredits the entire rating system. Hotel is old, it's ugly, it's run down, it smells, front desk staff was rude and dismissive. I could sit here and go over everything that this hotel desperately needs to improve on and at but that would take me days. The ONLY thing they have going for them is the location and the breakfast. Room is more than basic. Bathroom is gross. I stayed one night because I had a meeting next door, and I refused to even take a shower!! I felt bad for my feet having to step in that tub; it looked like something out of a road side motel in Alabama (minus the cigarette stains). It's dirty, it's dark from decades of dirty feet. Terrible!! By far one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I couldn't wait to check out and leave. So, unless you have a reason to stay here, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Great hotel
Overall, the hotel was very nice. It was across from the beach and had an amazing view. The room was clean except the floor. It seems that It had sand all over it. By looking at the hotel's website, you can notice that the pool was small which helped me to manage my expectations but dont let the gym's picture fool you. The gym only had one treadmill, one bycicle, and an elliptical, which was disappointing. If you dont care about both facilities than you are fine. Breakfast was delicious!

Had to move rooms bath was dirty with enamel off
Staff not very professional bath room filthy on arrival had to change room had to move me to another room veery noisy next door no plug for the bath took nearly a day to,get a plug, restaurant good selection of breakfast but took nearly an hour to order fried eggs, asked for coffee and was told yes but over 30 minutes and nothin served , asked for. Pot of tea just English tea told they had run out I asked if they could get some more I was told they would however no tea for 5 days they never got any. When moved to my new room I was charge came for the mini bar of the last guest I told them I had not touched anything and they removed the bill on my final check they tried to ask me to pay again for mini bar when it had not been used by me all in all a very disappointing stay would not recommend to anyone

Average hotel in a great area
Average hotel in a great area. Windows did not open so no fresh air, and no way to control the air temperature. The pillows and duvet seemed to be filled with feathers which do not agree with me.

This Place is Close To Many Things!!
I stayed at this location about 9 months ago (Sept 2016), and found it quite cozy. They had upgraded me to a larger room with a full-ocean view. It was quite pleasant! Coming back in July 2017, I decided to stay there again. But, I was slightly disappointed. The room, although on the 24th floor, needs some deep-cleaning. The AC unit came on, but never chilled the room. The bath needed to be scrubbed. The light in the toilet flickered on/off. The view from the room was spectacular - Cristo to the left and beach/ocean/Ipanema to the right. Complimentary breakfast was extensive and quite filling. One morning, I had found egg shells in several egg-items, which detracted from that experience.

Great hotel
I stayed on the 5th floor and the room was lovely, the bed was xtremely comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was tasty. I only wish the pool area was open earlier so that you are able to watch the sunrise from the roof.

Great location + breakfast!
The hotel has a great location, beach front in the middle of Leblon and 2 blocks from the new Metro Line 4. We stayed during the Olympics and were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a beach front suite (although we did pay a premium rate for the Olympics). Breakfast is definitely one of the strengths - it is very tasty and it's served in the hotel restaurant which has a view of the beach. The rooftop pool was small, but it had great views as well. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.

way over priced
I paid 600$ CAD a night and for that kind of money you would have thought it might be a nice room. Outside of being next to the beach, that was all it had going for it. The room itself was very small. It had a king bed and that's about all you could fit in it. The bathroom looked like something out of a prison wash station where they hose down each felon. I would go out of my way to not stay here next time.

Top notch beach front hotel in beautiful Leblon
Very friendly, professional, and accommodating staff. Beach front views and amazing view from rooftop pool/bar area. High quality breakfast buffet included with the room. A bit quieter neighborhood than Copacabana or even Ipanema but it's probably the safest area in Rio.

You're paying for the location, quality is a poor
This hotels selling point is its location on the beach. The hotel itself is in a need of a major revamp or overhaul. The decor is very old and the quality of the fittings worn out. The room had a bad oder coming from the drains on occasion. Only 1 out of the 3 lifts worked at any time so moving between floors and reception was very slow.

Best location in Leblon, in front on the beach
Overall it was a great hotel for our New Year's trip to Rio de Janeiro. Location is really good, close to shops and best restaurants in Leblon. Right in front of the sea in a quiet but still vibrant beach. Room was spacious and amenities were good. Breakfast was excellent, they were even kind enough to provide brunch till 3pm on 01/01 Overall, I liked it. However, 2 downsides for me: Old elevator, somewhat old bathroom and pool sid e(some oxide)

The bathrooms need to be updated, especially the jacuzzi tub whose jets had cracked seals, but the staff is outstanding and the location/views can't be beat.

Very old and bad maintained hotel. Air conditioner not working properly, elevators very slow and at least two of three ones many times not working, very dirty and bad maintained bathroom. Worse customer service I ever have seen. Probably because the hotel is very well located, and for this reason is always booked.

Very nice hotel with a good location. We sent some clothes out to be cleaned and did not get them back. The hotel did not take any responsibility for our loss.

Great location, good staff. My room was noisy and hot, had old furniture. The bartender at the pool probably tried to charge me two or three beers (I only drank one before leaving and the lady doing my check out treated this matter in a professional way --I told her about the charge because it wasn't in the bill). Unfortunately, as others have said, location is the very best this hotel has to offer renovation and better selection of (some) personnel might help...

Limited ocean view, low floor not great. Very nice, modern room. Good brunch every day. Very helpful front desk can set up sightseeing tours for you but be prepared to pay in cash.

The staff is well trained and all seem to speak Portuguese and English. It is a nice place to stay, however the rooms could be updated. The tub and bathroom floor appear to be dirty but they are really just stained from wear and tear. You can also hear a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. The free breakfast is good, but the restaurant's lunch buffet was disappointing considering the quality of food on their tregular menu. Overall we enjoy our staybut it could have been better.

Great hotel and location in Leblon
My wife and I spent several days at the hotel while in Rio on vacation. We were in a newly renovated room with a wonderful ocean view. We arrived early in the morning and were able to check in and get to our room. The staff spoke English and were extremely helpful in answering our questions and making plans.

Hotel need a total renovation
This hotel need a major renovation.windows which can not close, air Conditions giving more noise than an airplane. The lift which did not move before you got out of the lift! One iron (no table) for the hotel. Iron totally brown and you had to pay for hotel service. Bar closing at 10.00 pm. Staff try doing their best but their situation is hopeless.

Excellent location for families
Right on the beach and across from Posto 12 with an enclosed play area for toddlers. I haven't seen a young child-specific area anywhere along Copacabana or Ipanema beaches, other than this one in Leblon. Keep in mind that the ocean's currents are very strong so little ones shouldn't go into the water without an adult holding them. I can't stress this enough. Hotel had very accommodating staff (reception, room service, housekeeping). Breakfast was awesome, with that view!! Rooftop pool is tiny with an amazing view and rooftop bar. For pool access, go to top floor then walk up steep circular staircase to get to the outside. Maybe they have a hidden elevator that we never found. Guests with wheelchairs should inquire before booking. Note that the hotel is undergoing renovations so if you book based on the photos shown in Expeida like I did, you may be slightly disappointed when your room doesn't have that upgraded modern bathroom and hardwood floors. Our initial room was pretty old with worn carpet and an unpleasant bathroom. There were mold problems in the ceiling. But when I asked reception, they were able to get us into another upgraded room within a few short hours. Still no hardwood floors, but all tile and a better bathroom so everything felt fresher. We were with our 2 year old so this was especially important to us at this time. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and would love to stay there again in the future.

The location is fantastic. It is right in front of the beach and Leblon is a great area. For the rate we paid I would stay there again. It is a good bang for your buck. The biggest issues are that the elevators are run down, slow and not the most trustworthy. The bathrooms are ok but the showers are problematic. They have a major draining issue. The pool is tiny and the photos are misleading but the bartender makes a great caipirihna.

a Tired 3.5 Star Hotel in the best location.
The Hotel is located in Leblon, the best neighborhood of Rio, with the best Beach (the continuation of Ipanema). The hotel is due for major renovation!! The rooms are fine and the Beds have excellent Mattress... The Water pressure in the shower very weak. In other rooms there is no drainage...go figure. No tissue papers!!! Free WiFi, but at very very low speed. Movie on TV all in Portuguese... nothing in English. Breakfast in generous and plentiful. The Hotel provides with chairs, umbrellas and towels on the Beach. Note: the price quoted by Hotel.com is incorrect. the hotel charges a surcharge of 10% (Resort Fee).

This hotel has a great location right next to the Leblon beach. The daily breakfast bar is nice and the service from the staff is very good. The towels in the room were old (fraying) and the pillows were horrible. The windows badly needed cleaning.

Location is best if your looking for a quiet safe location. Leblon is one or the better more safer locations. Right on the beach this is a perfect place of your not there for a party week. Staff are good and helpful and speak English well.

Only the location is amazing...
The hotel is quite old, there was no soap in the bathroom, the hair dryer was not working and the bathroom was very old and not well maintained. There was sand in the floor ( and it was not mine since i was in business trip and did not step a foot on the beach), very old curtains and not very clean...all together old and unkept. If they do not renovate the hotel, i would not go there again and i would definitely do not recommend it.

My floor was in terrible conditions, there was leaking in the ceiling. Room very noise after 9am since the hotel is being refurbished. Do not recommend staying in Marina Palace at least until the refurbishment is complete.

Comfortable place in a great area
Great place in a good area. Nice views overlooking the oceans and the city, but windows were bit old/dirty, so I had to go the the rooftop to take pics... Room was very comfortable, good Wifi and wonderful Breakfast in an beautiful dining room overlooking the ocean! Pool is very small 4m by 3m (not like in the pics) and water was freezing. Gym is tiny with bad and little equipment, so dont plan on a workout here... Overall nice place for Rio though. Get it on a special deal.

Hotel is dated but still a comfortable stay. Bathroom and shower needs updating but both were serviceable. Best part of this hotel is location. Beach is across the street and Rua Paiva is two blocks up with all the restaurants you could ask for. And try Bibi Sucos. Great breakfast

The hotel is far from being what the picture or the description shows. The room was old and had a stale smell, when I turned on the AC, water was dripping from the ceiling.. I only stayed 1 night so didn't really bother me but I wouldn't go back. Breakfast was good and the view even better. Staff very helpfull and friendly with excellent English speaking skills.
