At first, I thought the property was nice, but that changed. They need renovation badly. Toilets and tubs are pink. Beds are very old, having slept in one with springs. They try to hide the old with decoration which doesn’t help the fact that the place is just too old. I would never stay there again.

old does not mean dingy dark dirty. broken blinds -stained ceiling tiles - dirty lamp shades -stained dirty furniture in lobby area ...... if it wasnt such a hassel to get payment back -- we asked--- WE DIDNT WANT TO CHECK IN with no choice we stayed but need a room change which was only a drop better ....absolutely terrible

Although the hotel is older it is well maintained, clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly & helpful. Coffee in the morning at the continental breakfast is hot and fresh. Cookies throughout the day & evening with access to Keurig for coffee or tea was appreciated. Location is great!

We loved our stay at the Colt's Neck Inn while attending a birthday party nearby. It felt welcoming and personal the minute we walked in with fresh flowers, old-style wood paneling, scented candles burning on the reception counter. We enjoyed sitting by the electric fireplace in cozy chairs while looking at the GPS. The breakfast room had a cupboard with board games that guests were welcome to bring up to their rooms. Cookies, tea & coffee were available 24/7. Our room had a King bed with firm mattress, antique leather daybed, beaded lampshades, small fridge & microwave. Best of all was the fresh red rose on the bedside table and a pink floating rosebud by the bathroom sink. The shower curtain was a nice quality fabric print. the tub was deep. Water was super hot! What a pleasant change from the institutional decor of chain hotels. We enjoyed the grand staircase going up to a landing with an oversize vintage velvet sofa and classic wicker loveseat, and more book nooks. It's a pet friendly hotel so there were cat and dog treats in glass jars by the reception desk. When we left for the party it was pouring rain so the receptionist loaned us an oversize umbrella. After the party we wanted to watch TV but the screen said no signal. The in-room phone worked, I called reception and it was fixed pronto. We ended up playing scrabble instead. Above par breakfast - bagels, muffins, waffles, fruit, yoghurt, maple syrup and Nutella. Friendly atmosphere all around.

This is my third stay at The Colts Neck Inn and l just love it there. It offers a lovely peaceful respite. The room’s amenities are great and the beds are so comfortable. Its all that you need for a break.

A very cozy, comfortable, and quiet environment. Staff made you feel welcome, complimentary coffee was always available, and the dining area was stocked 24/7 in case you got hungry or wanted coffee. Rustic, calm and tranquil environment. Dining area is also a social area and they encourage socializing. Very homey feel. Would recommend to anyone.

So comfy!
This was such a a wonderful stay! The suite was so amazing and comfortable... and the whirlpool tub was awesome 😎! The loveseats were wicked soft and squishy... And the staff were friendly and the bfast yummy. I can't say enough to give mad props to this property.

Charm in the need of some updating
It definitely has charm in the lobby however once you get into the room it takes you back to the 80’s. They do seem to be updating the rooms somewhat. The first room we were given I noticed the carpet was wet by the refrigerator and some obvious white spot on it from the water. However when I told the front desk she moved us to a new room immediately and said she would tell management. Our second room was a little more updated with vinyl flooring. However the people above us must had the same as we heard them walking around. They definitely need to update the thermostat, one you had no idea what the actual temperature was and even turning it all the way to “cold still super hot. If turned off super cold. Breakfast was the similar to what you would get at a chain hotel. I will say the front desk employees were super helpful and very friendly.

Still a great stay.
Rooms are being updated and look good. Grounds could use some cleaning up. Lawn chairs in many spots turned over. Random junk in some areas up against the hotel. Will would Stay there again.

It’s the best option for price and quality in the area by far. The staff is friendly. The only issue is noise. The walls are very thin/not noise proof. Th first night we could hear our neighbors talking very late at night. The last night we also had noisy neighbors. I’d still recommend it for value and quality. Just bring some ear plugs or headphones with a white noise playlist streaming.

When I turned on the heat, it warmed the room quickly. The bed was real comfortable. The staff were super friendly. The place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Coffee was always available. The Natura soap was amazing.

Nice place with friendly, accommodating people. Two issues, pillows and TV. Bed comfortable, pillows horrible.TV needs an upgrade with some premium channels and just one remote. Had trouble getting it on, then couldn’t get it to turn off? I will go back only because of the staff.
