Welch visit

Relaxing get away
The property was exactly what we wanted, it was peaceful and in the depths of nature. The views each night of the sunset or stars where amazing and the area including the property has many hidden pieces for you to explore. Highly recommend

Glorious bush retreat
Magnificent view at the top of this very steep track. Thanks to our hosts who kindly shuttled us up and down and rescued us on another occasion. Despite cold morning and evening temperatures we were Very cosy with the little wood stove going and lovely snuggly bed. Thanks very much!

We had a great time at Falcon’s view
We stayed for 4 nights at Falcon’s view and had an awesome time! The first full day the rain bucketed down meaning we just rested! The next two days we were able to get out and do small walks around Ian McKeans Pinetum, the swamplands, the Rangiwahia Reserve and Pemberton’s corner. The cabin was warm (fire), cooking was on gas stovetops. There was an Esky for keeping food cool ( Hamish and Orelle provided the ice packs). Shower was amazing! ( Gas). The ride on the ATV up to the cabin was very cool!! Thank you so much Orelle and Hamish for a wonderful time!!

Peaceful and lovely
Had an amazing stay here. Hosts were very kind and incredibly helpful. View from the room was absolutely amazing and was in a fairly close range of some great hiking trails and natural destinations. Lovely place to go for some peace and quiet. Getting up and down from the bach without the multi-terrain vehicle is a bit of a challenge, but overall a great stay!

A perfect getaway in the countryside!
I recently had the most amazing experience staying at the flacons view studio in Rangiwahia, and I cannot recommend it enough! If you're looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place for you.

Orelle and Hamish were very kind with our delayed check in, it was an exciting experience going up in the all terrain vehicle in the dark with our bags! Beautiful studio and views and very soft comfy bed. We walked up to Rangiwahia Hut and back in a day which made for tired legs walking up the steep path to the studio, make sure you bring a rain jacket and decent boots. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay.

Lovely secluded retreat
We had a wonderful time here. The house was clean, cozy and cute, and the location is absolutely stunning. I do think it’s important to note that there was a pamphlet in the cabin which had a pretty heavy emphasis on the hosts’ Christian faith. As a queer couple, this was a little uncomfortable for us. Personally, I feel that it would be more professional to keep business and religion seperate. However, the hosts were very polite and helpful and definitely didn’t make us feel uncomfortable at all in person. I couldn’t fault anything else - we really enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

Weekend or week getaway
Take time to enjoy this wonderful piece of nature and the adventures that are close to it. From amazing sunsets to trails through the property they have done a great job of finding a location to get away from it all. Although the walk to and from your car can test your physical endurance take your time and enjoy the many different birds, rabbits and an occasional deer and her fawn like I did on a couple of occasions

This is an amazing and unique off grid cabin with spectacular views. Hamish and Orelle are exceptional hosts. Was particularly glad to be ferried with our luggage up the last section( too steep for the car). A most comfy bed and a wonderful quiet space to unwind

Spectacular Falcons View
A beautiful bush fringe location. Awesome views with a glimpse of Mount Egmont. A quiet and relaxing off the grid weekend experience. We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a hideaway vacation.

The most relaxing getaway imaginable
Everything from the communication to the amenities was perfect. Orelle and Hamish are great hosts that go above and beyond, we had the most relaxing weekend of our lives at this stunning property and would come back in a heartbeat. Little luxuries like scented candles really elevated it to the next level, the only thing that could possibly improve this property is a sharp knife in the kitchen but that didn't damper our stay at all.

Awesome Spot
Hosts were great, helpful and answered any questions we had. The Falcons Nest was amazing, perched up on the hill side, providing great views and sunsets. Totally private and surrounded by bush and native birds. Highly recommend taking the opportunity to unwind here.

Lovely space
Lovely space with beautiful views. Weather was rather rainy but luckily had the hot tub to warm up. Host was very nice generously helped carry bags up to the property. Definitely needs a few more kitchen tools however - there was one small knife and no bread knife or BBQ tools. Had to make do with plastic tools which is obviously not ideal on hot metal. Would've also been great to have fly screens on the kitchen window so bugs don't come in when it's open for cooking ventilation. Wonderful overall :)

Refreshing bush hideaway
Well appointed self-contained cottage nooked into the Ruahine Range bush. Extremely private with a terrific view. We crashed for a good week literally under a starstudded sky. Kereru kept us company during the day and moreporks at night. We slept, read, ate ( and ate) and lapped up the local walks, river swims and bush walks. We grilled on the bbq and fired up the ingenius homebuilt spa. We both had had an over busy year and this was a wonderful place to recharge and get set for the year to come. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Attentive and flexible hosts. You won't be disappointed! ps loads of places to visit off the beaten track.

Tranquil Bush Stay
Stunning views from a cosy and very comfortable hut set in the bush that has everything you need to unwind for a couple of nights. So quiet, except for the song of the birds. Lovely track for a short walk behind the hut and very close to some of the longer walks that Rangiwahia and the Ruahines have to offer. Hosts lovely and very accommodating.

Such an amazing cabin in a beautiful location. Excellent communication from the hosts. Perfect for a weekend getaway, highly recommend. Only suggestion would be to maybe have a bit of milk and coffee available if possible (and wine glasses!). Will definitely be back with my partner next time. Thanks again

For a relaxing weekend away when you want a bush atmosphere, this is the place to go. Just chill with a beer or wine or take the track up to the top for a walk. Awesome outdoor fire heated tub A must stay, put it on the bucket list

So many native birds and more!!!!
The Falcon's view exceeded our expectations! We were so lucky with the weather and spoiled with an amazing sunset every day. The views, the native birds, the native forest and the cosiness of the place made our stay a perfect time. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive. The best little hideaway!!
What an amazing place. A small cabin tucked away in the middle of nowhere to unwind and recharge. Friendly hosts and great communication made booking easy. The isolation made the stars at night and the birdsong during the day even more fantastic. I can also highly recommend the massages from the local Arukah Beauty!! Next time I'm bringing my partner.

Tranquility with an awesome view
Perfectly clean, great communication and a lovely isolated Bach halfway up the hillside. Great walking track up above the Bach. The views are awesome with sunset right in front of you. Would like to try it mid winter too - bet it is awesome up there with the log burner going. Great hosts. Loved it.

Magical setting
Falcon's View is in an amazing setting. It is set up well for a couple and provides a secluded get away in a beautiful setting. The cabin is wells et up and very well presented, a cosy bolt hole for the weekend. Highly recommend.
