Lovely stay
We enjoyed our weekend at Piwari Villa. A very old villa which appeared clean and was really well equipped with everything we needed. Neighbouring properties are close by but we still enjoyed sitting on front deck in the sun and using the spa pool. The house had a shed for storing our bikes which was really handy and communication with owners was easy. Would love to know more about the history of the house.

Spa with a mountain
Me and my friends stayed here as we walked the Tongariro Crossing. We loved the rustic feel of the house and of course the spa with the view of Mt Ruapehu. It's just a short drive to Ohakune. A bit longer to the start of the walk but we didn't mind as we enjoyed the early morning views along the way. We'd definitely stay again. Thank you Vicky and Abby🙏

Comfortable and well equipped house!
We had a very easy and comfortable stay in this rustic house with lovely wood floors and panelling. It’s very close to Ohakune, very quiet, and with a nice spa. Highly recomment

Our getaway
This cabin was the perfect place for us to rest for the weekend. It is nice and close to Mt. Reupehu and is only a 5 minute drive from a small town. Was an amazing experience. Thank you!! P.S. The fireplace made all the difference in the world. It was wonderful!!

We had the most fantastic holiday... we loved how the house felt like a little cottage and that we were able to enjoy the fire and kitchen. We were able to make a lovely birthday meal and cheesecake ... everyone felt very comfortable and we were able to meet rhe neighbours who were very friendly... thank you for sharing your bach we will definitely stay again ❤ if you ever want to go to our bach on waiheke island let us know

Amazing little cottage just outside of Ohakune
We knew from the moment we walked through the front door what a special place it was. So charming, cosy, and cute inside. The rooms are actually huge with plenty of room for bags etc and the shed outside makes it easy to store snow gear. We had a lot of fun playing games in the living area and lounging in the spa or in front of the fire after a day on the slopes. Highly recommend and we will be back!

A beautiful stay
Really enjoyed our stay. Location is awesome with beautiful views. Lots of wood for the fire. Enjoyed the spa. Nice relaxation and also family friendly. Not too far from the mountain which was perfect for our getaway and township closeby with a cool park. Loved it.

Nice and cozy rustic kiwi bach. Perfect for our family wanting a mountain get away. Close to ohakune, turoa and 40 min to whakapapa. The spa was a real treat. Communication from the hosts was great.

Winter Getaway
We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and rustic. It warmed up quickly once we lit the fire and put the heaters on, which was great after a day at the snow. The spa was fantastic, though a little privacy wall would be a great addition to block the neighbours view when in the spa. All in all a fantastic stay though.

We had two nights here and it was lovely. The spa was a nice treat at the end of the day. Fire really warms the house and it was stacked ready to go when we got there which was a nice surprise! Peaceful area, not far from town and an amazing view of the mountain

Perfect Family Getaway
We had an amazing stay at Pīwari Villa; it's warm and cosy, in a beautiful location and has everything you need. The beds are comfy, kitchen is well equipped and the view of the mountain is gorgeous. Soaking in the hot tub was such a special treat after all the activities we did: mountain biking, horsetrekking, snowboarding and yummy meals at Ohakune. Vicky made booking and access nice and easy and Anna was really accommodating too. Highly recommended for a great family experience.

Cozy and quiet getaway with amazing mountain views
Cozy little place in a quiet area with fantastic views of the mountains and a lovely hot tub! A bit chilly if the fireplace isn’t kept on full blast and could use some minor maintenance to close off gaps at the windows and doors where the cold creeps in, but other than that we enjoyed our stay. :)

Disappointing stay
While we weren't expecting 'luxury' accommodation, the overall state of the villa was disappointing, in particular the cleanliness of the property. The issues we encountered have been raised directly with the property manager. We have been advised some of the issues will be rectified. As raised at the time, we would have appreciated more being done for us while we were staying.

Thanks for raising this. Our batch is not a luxury batch and I don’t believe we portray as that, nor the price. The property is in a rural setting. We work very hard to ensure our property is clean and tidy on arrival for our guests. We are always wanting to be responsive to any issues that come up for our guests. This is reflected in previous reviews. I am sorry to hear you felt let down by your experience.

Spa pool not useable
Odd rental experience. House is functional but two separate owners rang prior to our arrival to mention an issue with the spa pool. They asked us to shock treat it and not use that night. The next day it had a thick layer of grime around the water level. No response from owner. We also couldn't get the TV etc to work and were confronted by an unpleasant cleaner on our day of leaving.

Hi Holly I am sorry to hear you had an odd experience at Piwari. As explained the two seperate calls were an attempt to make sure you were well informed about a few issue that had come up with the house at short notice. We always like to be available to guests for working out the nuances of the house. Apologies re the spa our calls were an attempt to remedy the issue. With regard to the TV we have recently upgrade the TV and sound system, I am unsure why it didn’t work the guest after you reported no problem? I apologise for your interaction with the cleaner I understand his frustration reflected your unplanned late departure which presented issues to get the house ready in time for the guests arriving the same day. great stay, loved the spa pool. We couldnt find the main house key so used the spare. The house is comfortable and cosy. We meet up with the cleaner, who was very unfriendly and left quite an impression on us unfortunately.

Cozy Winter Escape
My wife, kids and I travelled from Auckland to meet friends from Fielding for a mid winter escape. We were looking for some where with a well setup kitchen where we could enjoy cooking a few winter meals, a fire place to keep cozy, views of Mt Ruapehu, a spa & something close to Ohakune - this is EXACTLY what we got. This property is extremely well setup for families or groups of friends to kick back and enjoy what the region has to offer. The views are amazing, neighbours extremely friendly, close to town but not right amount the hustle and bustle of the mountain folk. We enjoyed a horse trek with the kids only a few minutes walk from the gate and nestled down in the evenings with great food and a few (quite a few) beverages. Unfortunately the people that stayed before us left the place in a bit of a state but this was soon rectified with the help of our hosts. We will defiantly be back and recommend this property to anyone looking for all of the above.

Great little place to stay for the long weekend. Views of mountain, spa and fireplace were definite highlights. Plenty of room in bedrooms but a little cosier in the living areas. My elderly parents had a little trouble with the level of lighting, access to spa (no steps, so we used the outdoor bench seat) and the differing floor levels in dining room were definitely a trip hazard despite the warning signs. Thankfully there is a soft carpet for landing on in lounge.

Thanks for the stay at the villa, much appreciated. Very thankful for the fire and all ready to go. Spa also looked ideal but weather didn't really permit for that unfortunately! Felt the house was a bit lacking in basics eg toaster and cooking oil. Also couldn't get the shower to do hot water which was disappointing!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes we have just been. Are aware of the shower issue and the plumber is in as we speak. Apologies for the inconvenience. We try to make sure there are tea coffee and a few bits and bobs sorry the oil was used. The toaster lives in the cupboard, it’s a bit to large to live on the bench permanently.

Mountain Spa Vista getaway
Older but beautiful, quiet villa with awesome views of Ruapehu from the spa on the deck. Everything you need, plenty of space, storage and sheltered car port just off the back door for when you have to pack the car in the rain (like we did!). Rangataua always been a favourite place of ours as close to all the buzz of Kune but way more tranquil and with a country outlook. Super easy, prompt and friendly communication with owners who have really considered making it super simple and comfortable for guests to walk in and relax. Great summer pricing and we would love to come back and stay in the winter as is really well set up for ski missions to Turoa. Neighbours very close, but no worries. Only slight buzz kill was a seemingly unsupervised smoking incinerator on a close-by property but didn't really affect us too badly, just a little wafting smoke across the deck now and then and I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time. Where did you find the Cactus beanbags! They are the coolest! We all loved our stay and my 8yr old son's parting words were "can we book this home again soon?". Sums it up really. Heartily recommend the property and hope we can indeed visit again. Thanks for a great wife's birthday/Valentines Day escape!
