"The Novotel in Clermont-Ferrand was conveniently just off the autoroute. Good protected parking and very efficient check-in. (And they are DOG FRIENDLY). Rooms are what you expect, although our room was way too warm and even we couldn't regulate the temperature satisfactorily. Not sure what was going on, but the thermostat was not responding. "Comfortable hotel . Room was nice size and very clean. Liked the heated towel rack! They seemed very short staffed with one person running back and forth from checking in guests at the don’t desk to pouring wine at the bar. "

"It was horrible rainy, misty and cold. The room was cold and even through the owner brought us an extra heater & a lovely cup of tea, it never got above 17 degrees. Small room with basic facilities. Narrow stairs & struggle to get bags up to room. Restaurant nice but steak I had was tough."
