Beautiful secluded spot
We enjoyed the setting with a beautiful beach for bird watching, beach combing, collecting kai moana across the road from a cozy and well equipped batch with a wonderful garden. Great swimming beaches near by. It pays to stay close and explore the area, which has lots to offer. Thanks for all the clear and helpful communications, the use of your beautiful home, and the unexpected welcome with fresh offerings from the garden!

Relaxed holiday
Great relaxing location and awesome views. If any drawback was the 12 kms of gravel narrow road. Also please take your groceries from Thames before going to the property. However would definitely go again. Owner was very helpful.

Cozy cyclone stay
Despite the lousy weather we enjoyed our stay in this classic kiwi bach. Great views of the storm over the bay. We were really able to unplug with no TV or wifi. Plenty of other simple entertainment. It was a very relaxing stay.

Fantastic holiday in Port Charles
The property was perfect for our family of 6. Not your typical kiwi bach as it felt more like a home. Very spacious which worked well for young and not so young adults as well as elderly grandparents. Clean, tidy and well presented. Comms with owner was very easy and warm. Perfect place to disconnect and recharge the batteries. Lots of books read and freshly harvested seafood eaten. Port Charles really is a special place.

Secluded Holiday
The bch itself was lovely and clearly has had a lot of work done to it to modernise it. We were a bit disappointed that the newly constructed fence obstructed the view of the beach and harbour from the deck and the beach across the road was not really kid friendly or swimmable. On a positive note, there were beautiful swimmable beaches within a short driving distance...Little Bay was a highlight. If you are looking for a place to switch off and "get away from it all" then this is your perfect place as there is no internet coverage, TV or cellular service at the property. We enjoyed our time here and would probably come back without the teenager!

Spectacular view, nice place
first of all the bach looks even better than it appears in the photos as Robert has done some landscaping and there were a lot of fruit trees planted there. The place is located exactly where a very gorgeous river meets the sea, So it's great if you are a fan of fishing both in the sea(the wharf is 5 minutes drive) and in the river. It is possible to do kayaking in the river as well. There is a kayak there but maybe it is better if you inform Rabert in advance. For swimming, we went to a beach called the great sandy beach(5 minutes drive after the wharf). There is even a guitar to boot. If I have to say some disadvantages I might mention the 20 minutes gravel road to the bach and the lack of WIFI and mobile coverage (especially if you are not a SPARK subscriber).

Comfortable kiwi bach
The bach was comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the books to read in the evening and the coffee machine was appreciated by some members of our party. It was a mix of old kiwi bach and new, close to neighbouring baches. I would say the living space was on the cosy side for 7 adults if you like space or it was raining. Would work well for a slightly smaller group or younger family.

Many thanks. The house has two lounge areas as well as open plan kitchen. Ideal spaces for 8 adults. Always a bit more challenging though in the intense coromandel rain.

Nice little Bach well appointed, very comfortable and relaxing. Amazing view, we all enjoyed eating out on the deck. Don't forget your mossy spray as the mosquitoes where active. We enjoyed walking in the creek at night seeing the eels with a flashlight, Sandy bay and Rocky bay both worth a visit We took yachts the anchorage was tidal but manageable and the sailing was fun. cell coverage is patchy and Coalville last place for shopping all added to the old Coromandel feel

A comfortable stay in Port Charles
We really enjoyed our stay at Robert's place. The house has all the amenity that you need including a heat pump which was useful to take the chill off on a particularly rugged afternoon. The beds are all very comfortable and clean and the property is well situated. Our host communicated well, calling before we arrived to give me a run through of how to access the keys etc.
