What a wonderful spot. We had a cabin overlooking the water. Wished we planned on staying more nights. Dining at the restaurant on site was a delicious surprise!
It was the most expensive place we booked during our whole tour of Tasmania.
When we arrived we had power for 10 mins and then no power until after 9pm. We were freezing and wet after a day at port Arthur so was an incredibly disappointing experience (however the manager had a generator so they were fine). No offer to reduce the cost or apology from the facility.
Don’t recommend to stay here. Take the time to travel to another town for the night.

Hi Jacqui,I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our accommodation, it's concerning that despite being the most expensive place you booked during your tour of Tasmania, there were issues with power outages upon your arrival, however due to a car accident resulting in a damaged power pole, it must have been incredibly frustrating to be left without power, especially after a long day at Port Arthur. I want to clarify that the manager did not have power, unfortunately we do not have a generator, the backup power supply for the site is a water pump which was switched on, so you were able to have access to water and enjoy a nice hot shower. Thank you for sharing your feedback and understanding that your comfort and safety are important to us, but some things are out of our control. Kind regards,Management

The accommodations were very comfortable and we enjoyed amazing sea views BUT the bar/restaurant/lodge is closed Sun and Mon (shout out to Fox & Hound Pub for serving us both nights) and there is no WIFI. Very expensive for the services we received, won’t be back.

Hi Susan,I'm sorry to hear that your experience was not entirely satisfactory during your stay. While I'm glad to hear that you found the accommodations comfortable and enjoyed the amazing sea views, I understand your disappointment with the limited services available, such as the closure of the bar/restaurant/lodge on Sundays and Mondays and the absence of WIFI. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will take it into consideration to improve our services for future guests. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. If there's anything else we can do to address your concerns, please feel free to reach out. Hi MichaelWe are pleased to hear you enjoyed your recent stay with us. We agree, the location is wonderful and we are glad you found the bed comfortable. We hope to see you again soon
What a deceitful property. The cabin we booked was not the aame as pictured. Much older covered in cobwebs. Only 3 tv channels working. How rude to charge 30 dollars if you dont wash up and charge a fee if you dont take your rubbish out. Ocean view??? What ocean view i woukd never stay here again and the staff are rude and do not care

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have a range of cabins and simply cannot display images of every cabin. All our cabins are fully self contained and self-catering and it is courteous to leave the cabin in an acceptable condition when you leave. Should the cabin be left in a mess at the end of a stay, it is at the discretion of staff, whether a fee should be charged, depending on the additional cleaning that may be required to prepare the cabin for the next guest. We have checked with the staff who handled both your arrival and departure. The staff member who assisted you on arrival confirmed you had queried the ocean view, and although the booking had been allocated the correct room type, had lexplored the option of a room move, which unfortunately was not possible for the two nights. They also advised you had empatically stated you would not accept a room move for either night. We were also contacted by Expedia regarding a refund for the second night, and it was explained this would be possible, but you would need to speak with the supervisor the following morning. We understand you chose to stay the 2nd night, as you did not raise the matter further until you departed. We have also inspected the cabin, and found the interior to be in a clean and tidy condition. There were some cobwebs on the exterior log walls, however this is not unexpected as all cabins are nestled in bushland.
Did not rate it. Too expensive for very basic accommodation. Location great. Cabins not.

Hi Michelle, we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. The accommodation is stand alone rustic cabin style suited to the nature reserve surrounding it. Ideal for people who just want to get away and enjoy nature. Our rates are dynamic and go up and down depending on season, demand and occupancy. Unfortunately, you chose to stay in December which is peak period and the rates reflect this.

Beautiful accommodation on the water. Close to the Tasman Travel Centre for our 3hour Cruise we had pre booked. Went to the restaurant for dinner which was excellent food and wine.

Loved the view from our cottage. The bed was particularly comfortable and the place was cosy and warm at night. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and we appreciated the extensive video library at reception. The staff at reception and the restaurant were so friendly and helpful. I would recommend Stewart Lodge to anyone. We are so glad we stayed there.

A lovely quiet place in nature with a beautiful little beach and bird life. Loved the foreshore walk around to Port Arthur. Cabin was a little dated, but perfect for a short family getaway.

The cabins were spacious and kitchen had full cooking facilities. Bed comfortable and couch too. Restaurant was nice, with a very friendly and attentive waitress. Very hard to find your room at night. There are a lot of narrow lanes and no lighting. It is nearly impossible to see the room numbers. Location is great.

Perfect location to walk to Port Arthur historic site, do tours etc, walk back, then do the same the next day (as the site gives you a two-day pass). Great dining on site - but take a bottle of wine or two. The local shop clearly recognizes isolation is an opportunity to sell wine and beer off the shelf at almost restaurant prices.

Hi George, So glad you had a lovely stay and enjoyed the sights on the Tasman Peninsula. Yes, the wine at the local shops are generally local, boutique wines and more expensive than the choices in Hobart. We advise stopping in Sorell to buy wine from the BWS or 9/11.Thank you for your feedback and hope to see you again at Stewarts Bay Lodge.SBL, Management
Great place with some walking trails around.
Lodge was great, but no WiFi! My son was frustrated.
The in house restaurant was closed. We must drive to somewhere else to have lunch or dinner. Another choice was home cooking, bought some food from small stalls (walk for 5 mins/drive for 1 min)and cook for ourselves. I thought this was also the experience for living in here.

Hi Ka,Thank you so much for your valued feedback. We're sorry to hear the restaurant was closed when you were staying. The good news is our restaurant is now open 7-days a week. A very recent change. But glad to hear you found some local food stores. Sadly, the coverage for Wi-Fi networks is very bad on the Peninsula, which restricts us from offering it across our huge site. Thankfully we do have Wi-Fi in our restaurant, bar and office building, which guests are able to use freely. All the best and hope to see you at Stewarts Bay Lodge again.SBL Management
Room facilities were terrible - old bathroom that appeared unclean. Stayed for 3 nights and no refresh of towels.

Hi Carmen,I am so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us.Once the busy season ends, we have planned an upgrade to all of our on-site cabins, so, your comments are timely. We are also currently assessing our "consumables" and will be upgrading to more environmentally sustainable products for the bathrooms and a better selection of tea and coffee. We usually refresh towels after three days however we would have been more than happy to deliver extra towels to your room if we had been advised...Best wishes,Susie
Love the log cabins in the bush and having a view of the water. Straightaway you felt the peace and quietness of the area. Next door to historic Port Arthur ruins and restaurant on site if you wish. Good facilities in the cabins if you want to cook and lovely walks on your doorstep.

Wonderful and well-equipped chalets in a wonderful area. Great base for exploring the Port Arthur Historic site and the peninsula. Had some issues with dishwasher and drier, but were not able to notify management and it did not affect our stay.

Hi Thomas,Thank you so much for your review. Glad you had a positive experience and liked the convenience of the location. We do have a 24/7 duty manager on site who could have assisted with the dryer and dishwasher. Their phone number is on the back of the map we gave you upon checking in. But anyway, it's a relief to hear it didn't affect your stay too much. All the best and thanks for staying with us. :)Susie,Manager
The accommodation was great. The restaurant has however changed and now only serves pub meals. The previous menu was still on their website and was excellent. We were disappointed when we arrived and found the menu had changed (downward) to ordinary pub food.
A great cottage to stay in for 3 adults. Good sized rooms & great kitchen facilities. So conveniently close to the Port Arthur site.
The hair dryer & washing machine were excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stewart’s Bay Lodge. Cabin was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Location was great as it was very close to the Port Arthur Historical Site.
