Like being transported back in time to the 30’s. The town and buildings are so Cute and friendly. The hotel Is old but a nice updated en-suite bath, bedding and towels. The hot springs are amazing and the restaurant on site is amazing. They throw in a free bfast and soaks in the hot spring pools. I would definitely recommend and hope to come back when traveling through.

Quaint hotel. Next to the hot pools and along the river. Dinner at the hotel was excellent! We also reserved the hot tubs in the hotel. Rooftop bar across the street. Everything was within walking distance. No complaints.

The history of the hotel is amazing. Love having our own private soak. It is a shame the grand entrance is no longer where you enter the hotel. It was a nice getaway.

Hello. Thank you for staying with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay! As a side note,, yes, we had to forfeit our main entry as the road was closed due to the eroding width. The good news is that it provided us with an awesome outdoor dining area by the river. We are in the process of moving things around so that we can improve the new front entry which you came through. It takes planning. It will come!

Nice 110 year old hotel full of memories. Only negative were the restaurant food prices which we thought were too expensive. Other than that, it was an interesting place

Thank you Jae for your visit. We apologize that you felt some of our dining options were too expensive. However, to assure you, they are not priced over industry standards and all of our beef is prime meat and our seafood the same. It is a difficult time to operate a restaurant with the food costs unless we want to offer inferior products.We do hope that you come to see us again.

Old and funky but very nice and comfortable. If you want modern features this is not your place. Most of the staff were very nice but not everyone who worked there had the same attitude. Rooms were clean. The private soaking rooms were a plus but they could spruce them up a bit. New curtains or shades would help.

Private mineral spa tubs in the hotel basement eased tired muscles after a cross-country drive. Dog friendly. Plenty of towels and robes available. Pleasant staff in an historic Idaho building near the river.

Birthday mineral soak with room
You schedule your hot mineral water tub to soak in. Has a variety of sizes to soak in. You get 4 soaks at 30 minutes in a day time slots. The free breakfast quiche was tasty. Tea and coffee included. The mixed berry crepes was delicious. The staff friendly and king rooms spacious. All in doors and your not needing to leave the building. Bar on site.

Nice place. It was like a bed and breakfast. Very relaxing by a river. Walking trail by the river led to Lava Hot Springs.

Beautiful views but VERY DISHONEST.
DISHONEST. We arrived to our room to the loud sound of whining dogs, that could even be heard in the lobby downstairs. After complaining, it turned out it was the owner’s daughters dogs. She seemed annoyed or offended we were even complaing and kept insisting we just order their food. We stayed at this adults only hotel because we were on our anniversary and having small children wanted some sleep.She then told us to stay that it would be a quiet night. She failed to mention that there is a train outside our window that ALL NIGHT every hour or so honks for two straight minutes. I was up all night. The room hadn’t been vacuumed, there were flies EVERYWHERE in our room, the water in the shower never got above luke warm, and the bed was so old that we both kept sinking in the middle. We called hotels.com to request a refund for our second night, they called the hotel and it was approved. After staying at a different hotel the next night we received an email a day later saying the hotel denied our refund after approving it to begin with. This hotel is DISHONEST and only cares about money, they could care less about their customers. After interacting with the staff I believe they are intimidated by the owner. She seems like a bully.

Dear Crystal, I apologize for the noise of the dog but I'm sure Gail did go to the room and take care of the dog; we are a quiet hotel we do ensure that, on that note we do not have any control of Union Pacific or the engineer's delivering products across the United States they are required to honk their horns at crossings. Our housekeeping staff goes above and beyond to clean, and I guarantee they vacuum every room and common area every day. When your travel agent called me to ask for a refund on your second night, I did in fact approve that and only charged you for 1 night so if they went ahead and charged you would need to clear that up with them. Gail is not a bully and most of our guests are very happy here, we are very accommodating to our guests, and we have many that are returning guests and turn out to our good friends my understanding is you were not happy from the time you arrived, I would suggest you find a different place next time you're in Lava Hot Springs.

This is a historic hotel with hot spring pools on the bottom level. Please note: If you cannot handle stairs and your luggage, this may not be the place for you. There was no offer of assistance to get to and from parking lot to upper floor. The hotel was not crowded. The food in the restaurant was delicious and my waiter was outstanding. I dined outside by the river and it was quite enjoyable. The weather was perfect too! Other diners were very friendly. Sadly, I would not go back due to the lack of stairs for us older guests.

Caroline, I am so sorry that our desk staff did not offer assistance with your luggage or ask if you needed to be on the bottom floor, we always strive to help our guests with luggage especially our senior guests when they need help. I will share your email with our desk staff, so they are aware of this situation. Again, I do apologize this is a very uncommon situation and I'm sorry you weren't offered help. Our Chef and restaurant is amazing and I'm glad you got to have a good meal by the river it is lovely to sit by the river outside on a perfect night.
