My wife and I decided to travel on a get-away weekend for a very special event in our lives despite the fact that we travel longer duration extremely frequently within the USA and European countries. We picked the Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia for the event. This decision could not have been more exact. The hotel is a very nice hotel, but the staff is what made our weekend more than amazing. We both agreed that with all the luxury hotels we have stayed in, this hotel quickly became our favorite. The friendliness of all the staff at the front door, the professionalism of the front desk, the interactive lounge staff, the enthusiasm of the dining staff, and the attention to detail by the room staff far surpassed our expectations. The concierge service was impeccable – we stated our interests and let the concierge select activities, restaurants, etc. They could not be more correct in their selections. Even staff members we passed throughout the hotel, who did not know who we were or where our guest room was located, engaged in a very friendly conversation. All of the staff within this hotel confirmed the hotel’s statement; “guests will enter a realm of urban sophistication and modern comforts, where inventive dining options, pampered spa services and soothingly quiet guest rooms leave them with landmark memories of their own”. A heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to all employees at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia.
Had one recurring glitch with a room keycard, but the staff was right on it. Everyone was so friendly and interested in helping us that in a short time I felt like I was living in a small, warm and friendly home. A small group of old college grads were creating a reunion. I called the morning before our arrival and the person at the desk easily accomodated our wish for rooms next to each other. From the front door through to everyone else we got smiles and by day 2 felt at home. Rooms were clean. Interesting design.

This hotel is amazing! During check in we asked for a late checkout and they allowed us to stay until 2pm. The room was wonderful and the bed was the most comfortable ever. Hotel is close to lots of restaurants and bars, the room service is good and affordable if you want to stay in.
I gave Expedia unpublished hotels a try, and for dirt cheap on a Friday, I got the freakin' 4-star Hyatt at the Bellevue! Honestly, I haven't been disappointed yet in doing those mystery hotels. The place is classy, it's downtown near all the good stuff, and a few blocks from the gayborhood.
