Built as a YMCA in 1912 by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer, this 10-story Georgian revival-style structure will be transformed into Le Méridien in Spring 2009. Not my favorite

Service was a little bit off here, not horrendous, just off. The breakfast order sheet was left out of my room 2 nights in a row, and I had to call down for it, then after one of those nights, they failed to pick up my order sheet therefore no breakfast for me. When you are traveling for business you have a very short window of time for breakfast in the morning and their service let me down. It's also a little off the beaten path, not really far but in the July heatwave having to walk 10 blocks to restaurants was inconvenient.

Location Times Three, But Expensive Parking

The location can't be better for Central Philly attactions and the rehab of this old Y&MCA proprety is impressive, tasteful and comfortable, but parking options are relatively few and expensive. Overall, however, worth it for the location and great condition of the hotel.

Brotherly love for Le Meridien Philadelphia.

Le Meridien Philadelphia was fantastic. The price I recieved on Expedia led me to think that the hotel might be a touch shadey but that couldn't have been further from the truth. It was hip and fun without being over the top yet it had a classic comfort that allowed my mind to trust my environment. The room was fantastic and the bed was so very comfortable. Any place I need to go in the city was close by and the front desk was more than happy to assist me with any question I had. My only regret was not being able to stay longer.

Neighbourhood recommendations: Walnut Street and 13th to about 9th Street area. The restaurants and shopping are more than ample to keep anybody full of wonderful food and stimulating entertainment.
