After reading negative feedback on the hotel i was concerned that what we had booked would be below expectations however the opposite was true. From start to finish everything was exceptional and we enjoyed our stay very much indeed. Only one incident disturbed us was, on check out we had an evening meal plus two drinks from the bar to pay which i calculated as coming to around £95. When asked for £147 i queried why that amount. After checking again the receptionist agreed my figure. Just be very wary and make sure you know what you are due before paying what they ask!

Disappointed
We arrived at the Hotel and check in was quick. We got our supposed double room. The room was tiny, the bed looked like a large single, we wondered if in fact it was supposed to be a single room, there was only towels for one, two pillows, one cup etc.We were given more pillows and slept the first night in our very small room. We didn't sleep all night, the bed was so small and my husband's face was nearly touching the wall. I went to reception first thing. I explained the room, the lady was very nice and accommodating, she did say it was supposed to be a double room. We were given some keys and asked to view another room. This was a deluxe room! It was night and day.So our second night was a great sleep. The breakfast both mornings was lovely. Csnt fault the staff, the cleanliness, the food. All good. We used to stay in this hotel often some years ago and it was a beautiful place. Its really sad to see how rundown the place has got now. The decor is quite shabby, the carpets quite stained, the entrance used to be at the front of the hotel which has a lovely door, this has changed to the side door, so the presentation isn't so nice. Just not the beautiful hotel it used to be.So sad to see. So please whoever oens the place now, spend some money on new decor and some restoration. Not the atmosphere it had.Dinner dances were superb, the pkace was lively and welcoming. Not sure I would return when visiting Pitlochry again.

Scotland,s Spa Hotel !!!!
The hotel and rooms were both clean, and staff friendly enough. Room and bathroom were both a good size, although the bed was very hard, a personal preferance I know. The breakfast on both mornings of our stay was,nt great and we found it a bit strange that the restuarant does,nt open at all on a Sunday and Monday nights, forcing us to eat out. This was never mentioned on booking. The pool was very good but the jacuzzi looked dirty. There was a small gym and steam room but I,ve never been in a Spa hotel that did,nt have a sauna.

Nice hotel for a relaxing time in the Highlands, which is easily accessible from Edinburgh or Glasgow. Friendly staff, great breakfast included and located within Pitlochry. Used the gym, pool and spa too. Only criticism, is the gym/fitness room could do with a few weights. Would happily stay here again.

Hotel in transition
This was our 6th stay at the Scotlands hotel and probably the least enjoyed. The hotel has been going through renovations the past few years and still appears to be going through the process. Check-in was great and quick with staff very welcoming and friendly. We had booked a king room and found this very spacious with comfortable couch and chairs. The bathroom was great and appears to have been renovated to a great standard although we found that water was able to escape from under the seal on the folding shower screen onto the floor whilst using the shower. The renovation doesn’t appear to have made it into the living space, with some of the walls looking marked and the two main windows which give a great view to Pitlochry Main Street and the hills behind, being very rattly during the night, disturbing sleep. The bed itself was also toward a more hard feel which did not make for a great nights rest. I’ve always had great sleep at the Scotlands and I was surprised by the poor sleep I had on this occasion. The inclusion of an espresso machine along with the kettle was a nice touch. Ample storage for clothing was also a positive. We made use of the leisure facilities as usual but was disappointed with the temperature of the pool. Shame the steam room has also been removed. Breakfast on our first morning wasn’t enjoyed. Food was great but service wasn’t good. Left waiting and had to find staff to order. Second morning there was no cups for tea/coffee. Service improved though.
