Friendly staff and service, particularly in the restaurant. The room & bed was really comfy but unfortunately couldn’t sleep as the walls are paper thin. We could hear all of the staff conversations in the hallway at 9pm at night, all crying children, as well as the loud shower pressure of the room next door very early in the morning.
Amazing food 5 star rating, the staff were wonderful and joined us after dinner for a quiet drink around fire social distancing. Lea and her staff are so accommodating, nothing was ever too much to ask for. You can smell the freshness when you walk in the room as everything is sanitised. We stayed when the first big dump on snow fell on resort and the staff were just as excited as us. Henk and Lea organised to pick us off at Sawpit Creek and drop us off at the end of our stay which worked out perfect as the snow was too deep and you would have been stuck if you tried to stay.
A great stay in the snow. Staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming. The beautiful 3 course dinners each night were so appreciated. Huge servings of deliciousness. Snowy Gums is comfy and felt like a home away from home. Thanks to all for a wonderful few days

Thankyou for your review so glad you enjoyed your stay with us it was a pleasure to have you. Hope to see you again next season
kindest Regards Lea
Really nice vibe.
The food was included that meant the value made sense.
Heaps of space too.
We had two families there, the kids loved it.
There was a spa and sauna that were closed for cleaning - I'm not sure if that's the normal.

Thankyou for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry about the Spa being closed we ensure our spa is maintained to the highest standards and sometimes that means we need to close it until our chemical levels are perfect. Once again we do apologies

Lovely end of season weekend
Good;
Fortunate to get on site parking so access really easy
Dinner and breakfast included. Good quality and substantial
Friendly staff with good advice
Big, clean comfortable room
Not so Good
Thin walls so noise in corridor can be loud.
Not clear from hotels.com that needed to book parking asap
Did not clear snow from walkway to driveway so was tricky to walk at night
Overall
Pretty good value for money for an on snow stay. Would have no problems about going back to Snowy Gums (may bring a snow shovel though :))
Heating in the bedrooms lacking terribly when you needed it most. Had to huddle under blankets to stay warm. The toilet in our room was broken so that you couldn't sit on the seat, believe me, i know it sounds silly but it was very dangerous, particularly when you try to sit on the seat for the first time and end up smashed into the wall. The walls are paper thin so noise and whispers could quite easliy be heard. The beds were ok but the pillows have had it. The main meals were absolutely terrible. Two nights with deep fried chicken schnitzel. Third night a number of guests including my family had been totally forgotten about by management regarding an early dinner. When the familes arrived including mine at the normal time the kitchen had been shutdown. We were told by the cook that management had told him that everyone had been told about the early dinner. Obviously not. So the cook rustled up some; wait for it..Chicken shnitzel burgers, which had been sitting in the bay maree for quite a while. We had Sking goggles, gloves and helmet stolen from the heater room. My perception is that the current management all though polite are not up to the task of manageing this establishment. Possibly because of lack of staff or lack of management ability or lack of access to capital. With one night left to stay we decided forget it. We packed our bags and left. Didn't get much bang for a lot of bucks.

Thank you for your comments. It was a difficult stay and we do appreciate all feedback. It would be very nice if there was a website that rated and commented on guests. Some are more difficult to please than others but we always try our best regardless - for some however it will never be good enough. Most guest are extremely complimentary of our efforts to please and go out of our way.

Sorry. We have been trying for years to get better internet coverage. This year they approved satellite internet which has improved a very poor service but we are limited on what we can use. We are hoping that the NBN will be our way in the future. In todays world, the internet is important

Pleasant Surprise
I made a last minute booking in the only rooms available in the Perisher area during the July school holidays. Looking back twelve months, past reviews were not favourable. After our stay my initial trepidation was completely unfounded. It began when Henk met us at the Ski Tube Station to bring us, and our luggage, back to the lodge. Henk and Lea are the new managers of Snowy Gums and they are the perfect hosts. They are friendly, down-to-earth and attentive; willing to go the extra mile to look after guests. The food was wholesome and plentiful, very much family fare. The view from the dining room across the snow covered mountain range is spectacular. The lodge itself is a little tired, but everything was clean and comfortably warm. As skiers, I also appreciated that Snowy Gums is located next door to a ski hire shop and is only a short walk across the Smiggins Holes car park to the lifts. A great place to stay for a family ski holiday.
Complimentary breakfast and dinner during our stay. Its not their fault but they didn't know how to cater to vegetarian dinner request, but breakfast was fine and filling. This is my honest feedback, no hard feelings.
The managers were a very pleasant couple- very accommodating and cheerful and picked us up from the ski tube station and dropped us back as well.

Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly look into providing better vegetarian meals. It is something that is becoming very important with guests and we need to do our best to accommodate them.
Overall a nice hotel. Its worthwhile the stay if you can't find somewhere better. The hotel manager was rude to me though. When you're paying $460 a night you expect to be treated better.
Manager was one of the rudest ladies my wife and I had come across,on arrival pretty much threw us the keys and pointed at the direction to our room.
We stayed for 3 days, and housekeeping had not come once, had to ration the toilet paper and towels to last.Tv had 3 channels and was facing opposite to bed.Towel rack was hanging on by one screw, the list could go on and on......
Will not be staying there ever again and will certainly not recommend to anyone.
Great location at Smiggins. Friendly staff - always ready to help. Fine food and a family friendly lounge room.

Excellent Customer Service
Julie and her team did a remarkable job finding us accommodation and feeding my family when my wotif booking did not make it to the hotel. Even more remarkable was that the hotel had closed for the season.
Great meals. It was nice to be able to ski from the lodge down to the lifts.
