Mike & Mark very friendly & helpful hosts.Property & accommodation very clean & well maintained. Buddy the dog very friendly with good manners,our small Boston dog Barry kept to himself. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Wonderful dog friendly retreat
Amazing stay, our dog loved the fully fenced property and made a new doggy friend of Buddy. The spa pool under the stars was magical.

We were pleased to host you, and we hope you enjoyed the early check-in. Sorry that a few (was it three?) cockroaches made an appearance - this is not uncommon in a rural coastal environment when there is heavy rain.

Neighbours partied till 4am and have had no sleep. Who does this on a Sunday night. I work for the NDHB and needed this rest. Feel ripped off.

Thanks for your feedback, Maree. I did raise this with the neighbours who indicated there was a gathering of three people around a fire and they would have been happy to talk more quietly if you have raised your concerns with them at the time.

Perfect retreat by the sea.
Wonderful location right on edge of the harbour. Able to have breakfast looking out to the harbour entrance as the sun came up. Very peaceful & quiet. Mark was a very hospitable host. A place we will certainly like to return to.

Leanne and Neil were ideal guests. They were friendly and communicated well. They followed house rules and were considerate. They left the place clean and tidy and would recommend them to other hosts.

Magical stay
This cabin is in a magical spot with amazing view and comfy bed with lovely linen. We enjoyed the kayaks and walking in the area followed by soaking in the spa and relaxing with an awesome view Mike and Mark were fantastic hosts and have thought of every little detail for a truly great stay! Beautiful property and lovely hosts. Mike and Mark made us feel right at home and were very accomodating, it almost felt like we were catching up with old friends. Cute dogs; Max and Moro made for great company, spa under the stars, outdoor shower and very impressive well-kept lawns were some of the main highlights. We loved Mike and Mark's attention to detail, and their willingness to help make sure we had the best possible time! A very relaxing holiday for all, we will be back!

God we wish we could live like this every day. Its a gem of a location. Delightful hosts and the environment is the perfect place if you need a wind down. Be aware of the walk to the toilet/shower and extremely friendly dogs

We had a great couple of days at Mike and Mark's place. It's a wonderful spot with plenty of swimming options. Love the old kiwiana feel of the area. The cabin is comfortable and clean and quiet. The dogs are well mannered and friendly as are mark and Mike lol. Can't wait to go back.

Magical place with consumate hosts.
Perfect getaway place set in idyllic surroundings. We were desparate for a city break and we surely got that in a place where your feet can take you to stunning views and equally stunning beaches. Mark and Mike our hosts were outstanding and Moro and Maxi their dogs such a wonderful bonus. A lovely memorable wee holiday for us. I would recommend staying here 10x over. Thanks so much, so glad we stumbled across this gem.

Great location and great people
180 degrees view of the inlet from the deck in front of the private cabin. Private bathroom included. All facilities in mint conditions. Pataua is located in walking distance from two great beaches. Kayaks can be borrowed for free. On top of all this the hosts Mike and Mark are fantastic people. My wife and I really enjoyed staying with them for 4 days. Really interesting people with a lot of good stories and useful tips regarding the local area and NZ in general

Best stay so far.
The hosts were like old lost friends. I fell in love with their two dogs, the scenery was breath taking and the over all experience was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone.

A slice of Northland paradise
Really good, great location if looking to just get away into the countryside and then find a super beach location at the end of it. Hosts are awesome (thank you Mike, Mark & dogs) and property is well kept. We are keen to revisit again and only hope its available when we want it next. Pricing is great value for money - not suggesting the price is increased but thankful it is currently within our budget. Regards, Jason & Julie.

Small but perfect. Mike & Mark are wonderful hosts and genuinely enjoy sharing their slice of paradise in this special part of the north. They have thought of just about everything from the beachside jacuzzi to the freshly picked strawberries from their garden.
