Whanau weekend
Four generations of our whanau stayed to scatter my husbands ashes at the whanau urupa, The house was perfect for us and we got to know the grandchildrens partners. Thank you for such a lovely house in such good condition.

Awesome property great layout plenty of everything well stocked kitchen amenities with great outlook. My only criticism would be the beds although plentiful not particularly comfortable

Wonderful family holiday home
Wonderful place for an NZ winter family break. Great holiday home, right by the beach, good heating, lots of games to play indoors, and lots to do in the local area. Ages 7 to 73 loved it.

Such a lovely house very homie, plenty of entertainment options with a beautiful view & atmosphere

Location can't be beat
Paradise on the beach. Nothing to do but relax and enjoy the surroundings. Get supplies before you get there and then you'll never have to leave.

Upstairs is great, downstairs more basic
The upstairs (with 2 comfortable bedrooms and bathroom) is lovely for 4 people. Well equipped, comfortable, spacious and in a glorious setting. Downstairs (3 bedrooms) is a converted basement with some cold and dampness issues. Would probably be fine in summer. It was great to have the use of kayaks which we enjoyed very much.

Sunny, spacious & well-equiped
We highly recommend this bach for your next holiday in Golden Bay. With five bedrooms and a huge, sunny, open-plan living room there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. While the downstairs bedrooms are a bit 'basementy' and shady, they are perfect to house teenagers, with their own bathroom and a pool table/ dartboard combo to keep everyone amused. We were really impressed with the warm sunny upstairs space and the well-appointed kitchen, loads of board games, kayaks and lifejackets, BBQ etc: this place has the feel of a real family bach and we want to thank the owners for sharing their special place with us. We hope to return for another stay sometime!

Fantastic time
We loved our stay in Parapara though we were initially surprised that the downstairs bedrooms were only accessed from outside. Our three little kids coped fine though with this so all good in the end. Loved the snooker and darts and all the board games and the kayaks. Would definitely stay again.

Great location.
Parapara is a great location for exploring Golden Bay. The living and 2 bedrooms upstairs are comfortable and modern. The 3 bedrooms downstairs are very basic. There is also a water pump downstairs which is quite noisy. The rumpus room with pool table and darts was very popular with our kids.

The perfect holiday house
We loved our stay at this beach house; a real summer house with lots of history. The house is perfectly suited for small children as it is fenced on the main deck; we loved using the kayaks, BBQ and other toys. You are just a few metres from the beach and a playground. Kitchen was well equipped, also lots of board games and book. Would love to come back and stay longer.

Great house in a great location
Wonderful place to rent for families wanting some quality time in a peaceful part of Golden Bay. The upstairs living area is modern and spacious, receiving lots of sun with a well-designed deck with plenty of room both in and out of shade. The downstairs level containing 3 bedrooms and a bathroom and toilet is a bit more basi, but is practical, clean and tidy and contains a pool table and dart board to keep the family entertained. Location is ideal - just a short walk across the road from the beautiful Parapara Beach. Lots of local tuis to provide nice background ambience. One of the biggest appeals of this place is the use of the kayaks. Our family spent lots of time kayaking and fishing in the waters off Parapara Beach, which was a real highlight. The only improvement suggestion would be to have a dryer onsite to help dry the family washing during the rainy days - although the fire & clotheshorse works well when outside temperature isn’t too warm.

Parapara has been a popular destination for our family since the 1980s and now the third generation was introduced to its charms. The safe beach, playground, and relaxed atmosphere are unchanged. The house was ideal for accommodating us all and we had enough space to spread out.

nice property right on the beach
We enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean, warm and well stocked. The deck was secured well for young children to run around without worrying they would fall. The bedrooms upstairs where nice and linen clean. I didn’t realise the bedrooms downstairs where in the old garage and it smelt a bit dank down there. I would rent again but only for sleeping in the upstairs rooms.

Our family had a nice weekend together. We all had a 4 hr plus road trip but it was well worth it. The walks along the beach and seeing the sunrises are a bit of a novelty these days. House was well equipped, comfortable and in general clean.

Tranquil, very comfortable and great for families
We had a lovely time enjoying the nearly empty beach, swimming, fishing, kayaking. Lots of local activities, such as salmon fishing, not far away too. The accommodation was brilliant for a large family with plenty of space. The kids enjoyed playing on pool table, as well as the playground within viewing distance. Great spacious kitchen, lounging and dining area. Large selection of DVDs and games to play as well. Great time was had by all.
