"Character hotel with excellent friendly service."
We stayed at the Randolph overnight as we were attending a function at the hotel. The General Manager and his staff provided excellent service, with splendid food and wine. We have received several complementary comments from members of our party attending the dinner.
The rooms are very good, ours was not that big but the emphasis is on quality, fabrics, bedding
mini bar, bathroom all top quality. It's not cheap but no more expensive than any other 4/5 star.
Didn't like being charged to go to the bar for my own drink, even if you are informed of this(which
I wasn't) but received a refund when I complained. The parking situation is first come first serve
and there are few spaces but Expedia should inform people of this as the hotel does not imply
that you will definitely get a free space. We will stay again though, it's a very cosy and friendly
place, close to the centre and the Jericho area of oxford.
I happened to stay in a reasonably large room at the backside where is quiet.
Mind some rooms in this hotel are in irregular shape and could be quite small (also facing the street). You can ask the staff to give a good room otherwise...

Everything was as we had hoped. The only criticism is in respect of how long we had to wait to be served at the bar but it was extremely busy and the staff were very stretched to look after everybody promptly.
Woodstock is such a beautiful English town and this very old house in its high street is so full of charm and character. Our room had a real 'wow' to it with its light, size and loft room roof rafters and its lovely old world feel. Really nice large comfortable bed and very large modern bathroom. Clearly the hotel's age limits its facilities but that wasn't an issue to us. Nice generous breakfast in the morning served by the pleasant and helpful owners.
Would very happily stay there again.

"Relaxing hotel with good facilities and good food"
Lovely hotel located just outside Oxford. We arrived late in the evening but were made very welcome. Excellent welcome for our dog who was treated as part of the family. Large, extensive gardens (over 60 acres) with plenty of things to do and look at. There's a river - several of the rooms are river rooms with their own patios to sit out. If you want a gym, garden games, croquet, chess, badminton, tennis, cycling - all available. Spa treatments are also available. Staff are amenable. We had breakfast and an evening meal and both were enjoyable and relaxing. One minor negative point to avoid - if you are not quite so mobile you need to make staff aware in advance as some areas involve quite a bit of a walk and steps.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.
