Check in was quick and easy. The chap in reception was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave a good recommendation for dining. They had turned the heating on so the room was lovely and toasty. Room itself was old but clean and had all the necessities. A good powerful shower.

We needed a place to stay the night as we traveled through. It is definitely dated but seemed cleaned, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and we got a good night's sleep!

All I need!!
I always stay here and drive onto the ferry the next day. It’s perfectly positioned. Comfy, quiet and convenient.

Lovely hosts, clean and tidy units, comfy beds and excellent bathroom. Stayed one night after getting of the ferry. We were delayed by 4 hours and hosts were accommodating with us arriving very late. Room was warm and milk there for a much needed hot drink.

Very clean and comfortable. Great that it’s dog friendly. For us a perfect place to stop off on the way to the Picton ferry.

Good value motel
An older style motel, but it was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a nights stay. Good location after coming off the late afternoon ferry. Although we didn’t use it, the area outside our motel looked nice

Lovely welcome . Very quaint, lovely outdoor patio. Pukeko visited in the morning. room heated before my arrival. Nice to have a small stove. SKY movies a plus. one hour drive from the ferry from Picton to Wellington ferry.

The property is what it is, a little old qnd past due for an upgrade. It served our purpose to give us a nights rest to break up the journey between Chridtchurch qnd Auckland. Was a little noisey with the state highwsy and main trunk line close by. It was what I expected for the price

Best ever motel
Best motel I have ever stayed in. Friendly welcome, quick check-in, everything works. Nice patio to sit in sun. Comfortable bed. All the Sky Channels.

Bedding smelt, as did the whole unit, peeling paint inside and outside of unit which had clearly not been swept of leaves/cig butts for some time, significant road noise at night from trucks/hoons. Elec jug had egg shells in it! Convenient location and good shower. Clearly this motel has not has any maintenance or upgrading for years.

Hi Ian, We're very sorry to hear that this was your experience with us. We will schedule a painter to address the peeling paint. We are in the process of upgrading each of the units, but due to our small size and builder availability, have had to schedule renovations one unit at a time. I agree it is unacceptable than there were eggshells in the electric jug - we will update our cleaning systems and discuss this with our cleaners as to how we prevent this ever happening in the future. We will also make sure that the front and rear of the units are regularly swept - we had a storm the last few days which may have made things worse than usual. Thank you for your feedback. It’s a little old fashioned, but the beds were nice and comfortable and the heat pump kept everyone warm.

I knew this was going to be a reasonably noisy stay as its on a main road - but the walls are paper this and the neighbour had his TV on all night. The room was roomy and clean, although very dated.

Thank you for drawing this to our attention. The units are meant to be non-smoking units but clearly a guest was breaking the rules. If you can advise which unit you stayed in we will deoderise it.
