Real bach, comfortable
Felt right at home. Couldn't get to the beach (possibly due to tides) but Kaiiwi Lakes were a lovely surprise on a hot afternoon. Well appointed and comfortable

So much history as we are from Taita Marae in Mamaranui. Learnt a few Whakapapa along the way. Kai iwi lakes a dream so beautiful. Tane Mahuta, Opononi. Paihia. WAITANGI DAY WAY was phenomenal.

Detox
It's a small town and the house is nice and cosy and simple. Kitchen was nice and simple and had all the things you needed. Bathroom and toilet was simple and tidy. Highly recommend you do groceries at Dargaville before coming here! Otherwise you'll end up eating out which isn't bad but a drive to anywhere. Omamari is a very quiet place. The way to the nearby beach is close except you will get wet to get to the beach. Unless you've got a 4WD which looks like heaps of fun. Insanely quiet beach, but not suitable for swimming. Beautiful and long, perfect for a run. If you're keen to just do nothing and relax and detox, this is a good place for it! No wifi, but there is TV. No washing machine but you could hand wash if you need. The best thing was the night sky - stars were insane! Easy check in and communication.

Cosy little stay
Overall a nice little place to stay, good little spot to get to lakes around the area. It was very hot during our stay and only had one fan in the house so it did get a little uncomfortable at night as the heat was a bit much. Make sure you pack enough towels for your stay as the closest laundry is in Dargaville. The kids had fun exploring the area and heading to the lake everyday.

we enjoyed our stay. access up the steps was difficult as we were aged 78 to 82 it was wet and slippery and no hand rail causing 2 falls. the fishing was excellent. thanks

Great bach at a beautiful beach!
We really enjoyed our stay at Jim and Nikki's bach, it had everything we needed and was just as advertised. Perfect for a family stay and the beach was just a short walk away - the kids loved playing on the sand dunes. We couldn't get the oven to work even after following the resetting instructions but thankfully the lovely Maree let us use her oven to cook pizzas on the first night. Enjoyable stay, thank you.

Fun easter break at the beach
House was what we were expecting. Great location and we had fun at the beach. Oven was a fight, and the couch was rather lumpy, but otherwise a good stay.

Great location close to Omamari beach
We had a pleasant stay with the family during our weekend get away to Kai Iwi Lakes. The property is really close to Kai Iwi and a walking distance to the long stretch of Omamari beach.

Perfect location to enjoy nature around.
We enjoyed staying in the property. Close to Kai Iwi Lake and beautiful beach. Water pressure was good for shower. It was quite humid weather during our stay and wanted to use a fan in the property but it did not work. Lots of mozzies and flies so I suggest people to bring some insect repellent for summer time.

Omamari the real kiwi Bach experience.
We enjoyed the Bach and the area very much. The Bach had all we needed, including and large kitchen. The outdoor space was lacking as the chairs had seen better days and needed replacing. No TV service at all. But over all very happy with the communication and Bach. We’d love to come back!

Classis kiwi bach experience
We had 2 lovely nights here exploring the area. The house has all that you need. It could do with somewhere comfortable to sit as all the furniture is hard. The access to the house is challenging as the stairs are steep and the vegetation is overhanging. Minor issues really. We enjoyed our time here. Thanks for letting us stay.

Quiet and out of the way
The Bach is nestled in front of hill and is very tidy and practical. We liked the lay-out. Situated in a quiet spot, not much of a view ,but close to the Kai iwi lakes which are just lovely. The hill up to front door can be slippery if wet, or carrying a lot of stuff. A lovely place to get away from it all. We enjoyed staying here.

Great water tank!!
Water supply was very important to us and could not fault even with water restrictions, great shower facilities & abundance of towels, very clean & child friendly, had our 4yr old grandson & enjoyed the blocks & toys. Thank you, it was wonderful, highly recommended!!!

Well equipped Bach, love the eclectic decor. 2 mins to clean salt water surf beach with white sand dunes. Omamari is a real iconic Maori settlement.
