Nice enough clean motel. Pricey at $220 per night. Bit of a frosty reception on arrival. Restaurant was well priced and friendly but basically had 50% of the menu unavailable.

We were staying on the top level and our tv wasn’t working. Wasn’t bothered to go tell the staff cause we didn’t really use it, as we only came back to the motel to rest and than off to our next adventure. Stayed here for 5 days and cleanliness was 5/5. Always changed our towels and took out the rubbish and recycling. Would definitely stay here again next time we travel down from Auckland

A very spacious room with excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Quiet and although a wee bit away from the town centre the bar and restuarant next door were excellent. The bed was very comfy.

Situated perfectly for our needs and requirements within short driving distance to the penguin meetings and also the fabulous Whitestone cheese factory, the motel is super cosy and linen is of a superior quality.

The units are a good size and well fitted out. Quiet, minimum road noise. Bathroom congiferation is a little unusual, but it works. Restaurant on site is helpful, but unfortunately it was closed for Stat. holiday over our visit. We would stay there again.

Fantastic service, perfect for breaking the drive.
We were more than happy with this motel, it is well maintained, spotless and the rooms are basic but very spacious with a little kitchen area, credit most of all goes to the amazing motel staff. Jill and her team helped us when our car broke down, tried a jump start then let us make numerous calls to the hire car agent and AA, and gave us a cuppa even though we’d checked out. The way they handled a stressful situation and waited till we were finally on the road again left us feeling better and even smiling. Thank you Jill and co;
