Lovely country pub. We stayed in the oak house which was lovely bedroom and little treats and coffee in the room. The food was amazing and breakfast was even better so recommend staying for this. Wish I could have stayed liner

Perfect stay, we have a large dog and the the room was spot on with access to the garden.. lots of extras in the room. Evening meal and breakfast a very good standard. Our dog even got a sausage for breakfast.

Lovely find!! Ribs were sensational!! Room clean and comfortable. Hot tap proved testing as it was threaded opposite to what you expected. Toilet seat needed securing. Curly wurly on hospitality tray a nice touch!!

A great stay in a great location
Great location just a short drive from the A1. Food is absolutely fantastic and they offer a wonderful vegan and gluten free menu also. They have a generously sized car park great for larger vehicles like campervans and they are listed in the BritStops directory. Rooms are well sized and full of thoughtful details like a guest book, hot chocolate, chocolate bars and coffee pods for the coffee maker. Cleanliness is pretty good, although the staff member who showed us the room walked straight into the room, directly from the carpark outside (some rooms are located in an annex accessed from the carpark) without wiping their feet or removing their shoes so we were a little dubious of the carpet cleanliness. Very quiet at night, so slept very soundly. Overall a very pleasant stay and we'd stay again.

A lovely, comfortable and welcoming place.
From the warm and friendly welcome to ourall-too-soon goodbye the hotel staff were fantastic. Caring and helpful they made our stay memorable. The hotel itself is comfortable (beds were great). It is a cosy, homely place and THE FOOD WAS GREAT. We will definitely be returning.

The Black Horse Inn is a hidden treasure - a perfect spot to stop off on the way from Scotland to England. Stylish comfortable large rooms and a bar/restaurant with delicious food and a warm friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend.

Beautiful building and excellent service
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and the restaurant ambience was was fitting. The room was fabulous and I couldn’t have asked for more. Lovely selection of teas and coffee and a coffee machine too! I would definitely recommend

What an amazing hotel. Rooms are huge and well equipped. The bar, restaurant and food on site is just so lovely. Highly recommended.
