Absolutely Awesome
Had an awesome Easter weekend in this amazing Bach. Great location and views from the very large deck are simply lovely. Bach has everything you need and is extremely comfortable. Thanks Lesley for everything!!

Such a great location and everything you need is there! Great cafes and restaurants nearby and Sandy Bay (one of our favourite beaches) is only 15 mins drive.

Little piece of paradise
Beautiful studio with a stunning deck, private entrance to the studio, within walking distance to the cafes, restaurants and beaches. Stocked with everything you need. The views from the deck are stunning. Hosts were lovely, they made us feel welcomed and offered us late check out!. I 100% both recommend it and would come back. Thank you!

Lovely quiet location. Comfy bed. Well-equipped kitchen. So nice to be close to some beautiful places to explore. Only issues: TV Reception poorand remote not working. We had trouble locking the front door (it seemed to lock but didn’t!) We couldn’t make the bedside lights work. These hiccoughs did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. We would highly recommend!

Quiet and serene
We were grateful to be allowed at this property with our pets. Albeit the grass area on ground level is enough for potty breaks, the large reserve down the driveway makes up for a good romp in the grassy area. I travelled with my elderly Father and there were 14 large steps to climb to the entry of the studio but he managed well with the railings, it was the steep long concrete drive that needed lung support when walking back (haha) but it was worth the walk. The estuary is a short walk and beautiful as ever. The studio itself is well equipped and everything you need. Large shower is amazing and roomy (it doesn’t have an extractor so it can be a tad steamy but it passes quickly). Deck is pet friendly to close the gate to keep them secure. Beautiful setting, thank you for allowing us to stay.

Simply perfect
From the moment we arrived we just relaxed, the house had everything we needed with amazing view over the countryside and the beach. Close to great cafes, shops and restaurants. But you don't have to leave the house with all you could need to bbq, cook and sit outside with the views to eat all your meals. The peace and quite was just so overwhelmingly perfect! We will be going back with our 2 little dogs again they also loved the outdoor space and the house and all the time they got with us relaxing. Thank you to the lovely helpful hosts for having us!

Well Appointed but cold
The property was clearly clean and nicely appointed with lovely furniture, crisp white linens and velvety bedcoverings. Unfortunately it is very cold in mid-winter as the heating is inadequate making the uncovered wooden flooring cold, the bathroom freezing and the expansive windows condensation-covered when there was no sun. A heat pump and large rug in winter would help significantly. It is situated in a lovely coastal township with a couple of shops/cafes and surrounded by rivers and a beach. The view is to the west and primarily township but the expansive hills are beautiful. It is also beautifully quiet.

I had a fantastic 4 nights here over QB weekend. It’s a really lovely studio with everything you need, great views, and 5 minutes from the beach. And my dog loved it as well - very pet friendly!

This is a really awesome property - has everything you need and the views are amazing. Close to the estuary and there are canoes you can use. This is our second stay, we along with our little dog love it. We will be back🤙

Totally enjoyed our 3 day stay here despite Cyclone Dovi’s rumble on the 1st night. All you need ... beaut’ location with sea estuary & Farm valley views. Huge outdoor deck space, very comfortable king size bed, privacy plus space. ... no shelf or cabinet space in bathroom but shower had excellent pressure. Ngunguru Sports Club, while no 5 star Silver service, it’s a sport club bistro’, provides excellent meals, at reasonable prices in a clean,friendly setting. The Hot Chilli’ Pizza place also makes great pizzas. Next time we’ll take our own groceries as both the general store & dairy at Ngunguru & Tutakaka are grubby & dirty, but that’s no fault of the Sea Horse Studio. We loved our stay and highly recommend & WILL visit again.

It was a great location, Leslie was very friendly. We spilt a smoothie over bed linen and she was very kind about it. The beds were made up for us when we arrived. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. She made us feel quite welcomed.

Great studio with enormous decks & wonderful views. Well appointed with every convenience plus privacy and quiet, although very close to shop, takeaways and beach. Recommend you also try the sports club Restsurant and especially the food truck along the Ngunguru estuary.

Everything we were hoping for
A clean, tidy studio with everything we needed for a comfortable stay while we explored the area. Ideal for my family of 3 and a real bonus that the hosts are happy to accommodate pets. The large deck is the property's standout feature. It enabled us to spread out and really made the studio feel a lot larger than it is. Being able to close the gate meant that we could really relax while on holiday with our dog! We look forward to exploring more of Ngunguru on our next visit! Thank you Lesley and Mike.

Perfect spot
A lovely place. Great location with a beautiful outlook. Everything we needed was there and having use of two kayaks really made our trip. The local food truck has amazing food and the Ngunguru locals are super friendly. We will be back.

Ngunguru is a great place. Comfortable unit well equipped kitchen. Fantastic views
Enjoyed the use of this apartment thank you. Fantastic views. Fantastic well equipped apartment although internet and TV reception continually cut out and unable to use either. Recommend improving these to enhance the visitor experience.

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. After you left we noticed that the wi-fi extender in the studio had been switched off, which would explain your intermittent wi-fi experience. Such a shame you didn't let us know as it would have been an easy fix. Glad everything else was great!

Privately tucked away one street back from beach and shops. Lovely owners live upstairs but you wouldn't know anyone was there. Huge wrap around deck to enjoy sunset views. Will definitely be back!

High quality accomodation in great location
High quality, well equipped accommodation with great setup. Clean, tidy, spacious, quiet and peaceful. Awesome to be able to open up the doors and extend the living out to the deck with a choice of sitting in the sun or shade. Loved sitting on the lounge with a book and the sliding window open with views to the estuary and across to the hills and farmland. Very comfortable bed with good linen. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Seahorse. Played tennis at the Sports Club at Ngunguru. Close to amenities, Whangarei and Tutukaka. Great food, great times. Enjoyed Tutukaka, the marina and cute shops. Breakfast at Salt Air Cafe. Walked up Mt Manaia at Whangarei Heads. Enjoyed Matapouri to Whale Bay with beautiful sea swim and the Whangarei Hatea Loop inner-city riverside. Thank you to Mike and Lesley for a great stay!
