I had a wonderful 2 night stay with my father. Booked this hotel from NewZealand. Warm Welcome , friendly staff & very unique interesting building. Views amazing from the room 302 Beautiful heritage building set in park like grounds with golf club. All staff excellent & Zoe very helpful with queries later evening ; night time.

Great suite, friendly staff
Friendly staff, huge room(s) (honeymoon suite) at excellent rate. Furnishings of an older style which work in the building. Room warm and comfortable.

The hotel was nice reception could be better signed and the door unlocked. The room was good bit of a treck for breakfast in the morning. I had some really bad neighbours noisy at night and in the morning 6am. This was reported so hopefully they where sorted out.

Too hot
It was unbelievably hot - heating system broken. Other guests we spoke to had the same issues. We hardly slept. Restaurant food and service was very good.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The grounds are simply breathtaking and the village of Bagnor & the Watermill Theatre are a short drive or taxi ride away. As this is an older building however there was no AC to my knowledge which meant the room was hot in warm weather. Unfortunately I did not receive many VIP benefits at this hotel, just a discount at the restaurant. Late check out was not possible and I did not receive an upgrade either. However, overall this was a great hotel to stay in and a great experience, there is lovely decorations inside and the restaurant is lovely. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were all so kind and friendly!

Outside looks amazing but inside is tired and in need of refreshing. On my stay the room was full of ladybirds approx 200 appeared in the room over night.

Lovely hotel, spacious comfy room and very friendly staff. Only issues - wifi dropping out constantly in Lakeview, lots of rust in the bathroom and breakfast staff weren't particularly attentive although very friendly

Good for an overnight stop.
We chose this hotel because of its closeness to the Watermill Theatre. We found the staff on reception a bit dismissive, we weren't given much in instruction about where we were staying or where breakfast would be. The room smelt a bit damp when we got there but was Ok in most regards.

Room was not too bad - nothing special, but clean and tidy. I thought the restaurant was good value for money and the food was of a good standard. Impressed by the young staff at the restaurant particularly the young lady serving at us a dinner and the young man serving breakfast. All in all - great for one night but probably wouldn't stay for longer.

Pretty grounds and hotel, very welcoming staff. Very comfortable large room in the old building, slightly tired looking but nonetheless lovely and perfect for our needs , post racing at Newbury.

View of river and golf course was beautiful when sitting outside on the room’s patio. Completed with outstanding service from the desk clerk who walked several hundred yards to our cluster of residential units to bring ice.

Property is very dated and could certainly do with a refurbishment. The hotel was ideal for a visit to the Watermill Theatre. Grounds are lovely and quiet.
