Property is dated. There were some cobwebs in the corner of the bathroom. Internet was based on a voucher of limited access. Breakfast was scant.

Adequate but basic
We thought this lodge was expensive for what we got - not good value for money at all. But that is probably due to its location, close to the National Padk. We stayed in the lodge itself and the room was very small with a really tiny bathroom - nothing like the photos on Hotels.com. It was cold when we arrived and it took the small heater provided a long time to heat the room. The breakfast was very basic - left in fridge for us.

Thank you for your review, interesting when you break it down the room is 165 for two people and then it comes with a continental breakfast which is 30 for 2 people. We have a spa pool which you can use at no extra cost. I don't think you would get this anywhere else. I took the photos of the rooms so they are what they are. It does say on the website that we are 2 kms from the village.

sorry you were so unhappy state high way 1 was closed which is out of our control. So all the traffic comes past us. We are on rain water supply for the showers which are fine.

Positives - location was handy to the crossing. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size with everything I needed. Check in was fast and friendly. Beautiful views. The cleaning was great and staff turned on the heated towel rail and heater when they knew I had been out on the crossing for the day - nice touch! Things that could have been better - was not advised that the road the lodge was on was closed at certain times of the day so I could not actually get to the lodge until after 4.30pm when the road opened. Wifi is terrible. Shower pressure is terrible. No check out guidance provided nor any room directory with local info etc. All milk pottles provided were at least a week past use by date.

Thank you for your review. All the information was on the maps provided. Yes, just changed all the milk, I wish you had asked for new ones. The wifi is slow when the village is full, nothing we can do about it at the moment.

This is an excellent location for staying around the National Park. We stayed here so we could hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, it is one of the shuttle stops and picked us up right at the hotel, and after our hike brought us back to the hotel. The hotel manager emailed us the shuttle reservation link, so it made it super easy to plan our adventure!

Good Budget Choice for Tongariro
We were satisfied with our one-night stay at Mountain Heights Lodge. Our room was clean and comfortable, the included breakfast was a nice feature, and the wifi worked well. Best of all, the price was reasonable.

We had a beautiful sunny room in the lodge that was clean and very comfortable. The wood stove on the first floor was delightful on a chilly evening. The breakfast room had a very nice self-serve continental breakfast. The hot tub was the best we experienced in New Zealand! National Parks Village two restaurants were close by and all the Tongariro Park activities were close by. Loved it.

Light sleepers should be aware the property is on a main road with traffic including trucks travelling at up to 100 km/h at all hours. Accustomed to quiet conditions at home, we struggled to sleep well but others may be more resilient. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and cosy with Queen and single beds and all the facilities you would expect. We also used the spa. A delicious and healthy breakfast was also provided. Excellent value for money.

Beautiful place with an pretty view off the balcony, we stayed in the standard double room. The room was clean and quiet, and warm on arrival which was a nice touch. The continental breakfast was also nice and was availaible whenever we wanted to eat in an adjacent shared breakfast room.

Unfortunately you abused me on the phone twice for taking payment off you credit card and charging you 2% which is what our policy says. Expedia rang me to confirm I was right. Please read when you book at motels and then you won't have a problem. We did accommodate you in changing you booking twice. Your partner and dog were lovely.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly. The room was big. Our room was next to the road. When a car passing by, it felt like a jet flew by, so loud. Good thing was this time of the year, the road was not too busy. In NZ, the water seems unlimited, Everywhere you turn on the water faucets, the water gushes out. But not this place, the water flow in the bathroom sink is pretty low, you need patience to wash hands. The shower is pretty small. There is no outlet in the bathroom so no hair dryer . The internet is fast, but it has limited data.
