The front desk at check in wasn’t very friendly was better at check out very nice lady me and my husband stayed 3 nights and need toilet paper on 2 nd day and I asked housekeeping and she didn’t have any so I went to front desk and she had to look at my paperwork my license to make sure I was staying there also when we got there there was no batteries in the tv remote I went to front desk they didn’t believe me and sent maintenance also bathroom was dirty and it leaked in the middle of the bathroom I wouldn’t stay again also was loud as hell all night

Nice ocean front view. Building needed updated. The pool had a lot of debris floating in it. The weed smell was overwhelming.

Overall, the stay was OK. The oven in the kitchen had a little malfunction but was fixed eventually. The pool was not working properly and I was only able to use the pool two days out of my five day stay, which was a bummer. There was always something wrong with the pool.

Julie at the front desk is great! As long as you understand that you are not booking a 5 star hotel at this price, you will not be disappointed. Oceanfront room where all the equipment worked and was a last minute booking the night before NYE. Great deal!

The property definitely needs updating The front desk help was not very helpful at check in They were kind enough to let us check in early But we were unaware that the front desk would be closed our entire stay Unaware that the hotel next door was the sister hotel (where we needed to check out) until we read the sign We were unaware we could have used facilities at either location including pool and parking until we asked at check out We were to have the beach side room but we received a side hotel room (which all rooms are) with a view of the beach if you turned to the right but we were under impression that beach front what just that Pool not very clean but swimable And if you book using Expedia or Travelocity you need to leave a 100.00 cash deposit (must be cash) and when checking out they have security check your room before giving your cash back This should be noted before reserving through any of these platforms

Do Not Stay There, Book Somewhere else
Our entire experience was awful. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else. First, we had to check in at the adjacent hotel because I guess there isn't enough staff to manage the hotel we were staying in. Then you had to leave a $100 cash, security deposit. Yes, it's 2023 but this hotel will not allow you to use your credit card for a security deposit. They would not budge and when asked to speak with the manager they informed me that wasn't one. They informed me they would put the cash in an envelope and you will get it when you checkout. Luckily, my wife and I were able to scrounge up enough cash. They also wanted to see everyone's identification who was staying in the room. I thought this was a little odd as well. The hotel is very old and as i expected it, the rooms were outdated and dirty as well. We found dental floss on the floor as well as a plastic bag. The lighting was terrible and the shower drain was clogged. The bed was okay luckily. When we went to checkout, we discovered they didn't open up until 0830. So, we had to wait until then in order to get our cash back. You are SOL if you want to get on the road early on your departure day. I found this to be very unaccommodating but again, they had our money because they wouldn't take charge, We went to the adjacent hotel where we checked in and they informed us that we could check out in our hotel and they had our money. I felt like i was being jerked around non-stop. It was a terrible hotel.

ROBBED!!! NO CAMERAS ON SOME HALLS!!!
First night checked in, sleep, wake up to find that someone came into our room. Took my wallet off the bed it was laying IN the bed, RIGHT beside me, went through it, took cash and cards. Put wallet in different place!!! All while I was SLEEPING!!! ALSO CAMERAS AREN'T IN ALL HALLS!!! HOTEL CLERK HAD NERVE TO ASK ME HOW THEY GOT INTO MY ROOM AND WHY WAS I STILL STAYING. MY ANSWER #1 HOW THE HELL DO I KNOW HOW THEY GOT IN ? #2 HELL I'M SAFER HERE THAN ANOTHER ROOM THEY ALREADY KNOW THEY CLEANED ME OUT!!! SCARY!!! AND HOTEL CLERK OFFERED NOTHING BUT HER RUDENESS AND USELESS QUESTIONS!!!

Having been to Myrtle Beach numerous times, this place is a classic. It’s not super upscale or “ bougie” you get what you pay for. Myself, husband and two kids aged 8 & 11 had a blast. The whole point is the beach which we had an ocean view and our room had a little kitchenette as well! Super affordable and close to everything!! Plus the girl who was at the front desk was soooo sweet and super helpful! Definitely would stay again!

Housekeeping went above and beyond to spruce up the room. Fancy towels and thoroughly clean. All the staff I encountered were awesome. Building is old and very worn. My balcony door had absolutely no latch or lock remaining. South end of dirty Myrtle, ya needs a lock or four. They expected a $100 deposit upon check in. I had no foreknowledge of this and that’s not good business

$100 cash at check in!!!!!!!!!
They made me go out and get $100 cash from an ATM machine at 10 pm for incidentals. no mention of this during my booking process. got back from ATM and the office was closed had to go next door and get in line 45minutes to check in. absolutely ridiculous. then they took $36 resort fee from the $100 that was not mentioned during the booking process. never again will i stay here.

Property needs renovations. Stayed in room 407. I wasn't happy about the crack in the tub because it's a hazard. The removeable ceiling tiles in the bathroom and kitchenette areas were creepy. I'm 5'5 and was able to touch the ceilings in both areas. The keys to enter the room wasn't very reassuring. I'm use to a key card for entry for past hotel stays. First time needing multiple keys to enter my room. The AC was as low as it could go on 60 degrees, but it was still warm. Maintenance brought a very loud commercial grade blower fan. Staff was nice and it was easy access to the beach.

We stayed at this property last year no issues. This year the staff was completely rude ! Never told us of a $100 cash deposit and the atm would only allow $20 at a time with a $4 fee. It was HOT and they would not work with us. We had to WALK to find a working ATM. When we came back, the one said to the other, look here is your best friend. I called her out on it and she said was talking to someone else. Asked for clean towels 4 times. Finally got towels on the day before we left. We will never stay here again

It was not as good as it was last year. It's really all run down, I'm surprised they r still open. Heck our balcony door most expensive room cuz it's oceanfront was so hard to open n close... bugs in the room to, the shower was so hard to turn water on n off..this is just to name a few things. The worse part was kids in the pool all night every night n all hours of the night screaming n no parents around. Go down to lobby and no one is found morning day or night..they r closed. No help from no one. Heck When we went to check out again lobby is closed luckily another couple told us we had to literally go to a different hotel just to turn our keys in n get our deposit back. We thought it was a joke but it sure wasnt. We won't be back.

Check in wasn't at this facility had to checkin at facility next door. Only furnishings in room were bed and 1 night stand. No table or chairs or rack to place suitcase on. Lighting in room terrible as was internet and tv. There was coffee maker in room but had to pay for coffee pods at office.Very disappointed facility nothing like pictures on site. Had to pay $100 CASH deposit and wait for room to be inspected before money was refunded. I would not stay here again.

$100 cash deposit is required at arrival if you book the room through any sites and more if booked through certain sites. This facility depending upon the room you get is a place to sleep. It has an indoor and outdoor pool, but then there is direct access to the beach and its close to stores, restaurants, bars, and much more within a few blocks either way. Our room was delightfully cold but the grandkids room was warm even with the door closed but it wasnt hot like outside. We enjoyed ourselves in the area, in this older facility, the staff was great, the family memories priceless.

Overall we had a good stay! Check in was rough cuz we weren’t aware of cash deposit, but it was really clean, the staff was nice, it was worth the price. We would stay here again for the staff and feeling secure with all the cameras around. Having both an indoor and outdoor pool is great and u r allowed to use the Polynesians pools as well cuz that’s where u had to check in. The lobby was not open at all in the 2 days we were there which is also a downside but the staff at the Polynesian was wonderful as well!

I stayed at the Ocean Plaza one night from Saturday to Sunday in July. Regardless of if it was on a Saturday, and therefore busy, the service was horrible. I got to the hotel at 4 p.m.which was the scheduled check-in tine and the lobby was not open. I was very glad to find parking, but it turned out that I had to walk to the other hotel, next door to check in because the Ocean Plaza's was not open. I'm sure other people have written about the dirty rooms and behind technology, but I wonder why the actual lobby of the hotel was not open when it was a prime time on Saturday for people to check in. That was a surprise when I expected other shortcomings.
